Quick Snap Sunday: Haven't We Been Down This Road?

Haven't We Been Down This Road?

In the first pic Cody is checking out the strawberry I threw at him while I was making a strawberry cobbler. I'm so polite....sarcasm alert! Poor thing was snoozing when a strawberry landed a millimeter from his tongue.

This strawberry was deemed "not good enough" to be in my cobbler so it was "dog food".  Simon was eager to take care of his delicious treat. Cody on the other hand checked his out for a few minutes before looking up at me.

In the second pic once he looked up at me his cute little face seemed to be saying, "Haven't we been down this road? I don't like strawberries." Yes! Cody-man you are right we've had this issue before. This is a repeat performance! I guess I just wanted to make sure he doesn't like strawberries. So for the first time this summer I tried one out on him. I can't be totally sure who ended up eating it. I doubt Cody changed his mind and decided to eat it later on. Most likely Simon was the clean-up crew! But Piper has stolen a few treats here and there too! She's learned well from her big brothers.

PS....there's a change up occurring today. Quick Snap Saturday is temporarily Quick Snap Sunday. I'm going to try this out for awhile. Since the food blog came along it's a bit hard to fit in a So Sweet Saturday post and a Quick Snap Saturday post all in one day, especially after I've just done a post on Friday for the food blog. So let's try this out for awhile. See if it's a bit easier for me to post on Sunday versus Saturday. The only possible issue with it being on Sunday is that I'm posting on 2 different websites 3 days in a row....so yeah that might be harder, but we'll try it out for now. Stay tuned!

A Monday Excursion!

Today mom and I ventured out to our fave mall in the Dallas area. We didn't come home with too much stuff. Or should I say we didn't come home with too many unnecessary items.  All items purchased are useful!

She is the proud owner of a brand new suitcase as a result of the excursion. Her new luggage ensemble is a handsome turquoise color. Easy to spot as it is unloaded from a plane.  Always a huge plus to buy a color easy to pick out of a line-up of luggage!

I got my husband a little extra item, which is currently in hiding, well not really. I wanted to put it in a location where it is visible yet not overly visible, as I want the item to be a pleasant/unexpected find for him this evening when he arrives home. The small non-occasion gift is a guaranteed hit!

Tonight it's all about relaxing and watching a movie.  We're definitely making sure mom views her fair share of new movies while she's here. We have yet to take her to a movie at a theatre, but we will make that scene in the next few days. We're big on watching movies at home. We specifically saved a few to watch with her since we were quite sure she'd like them as well.

A little bit of rain graced us with it's presence today. Nothing major! Enough rain fell to keep me from needing to water my plants on our balcony.  More rain due in tomorrow and the next few days, oh but that won't stop us from venturing out! :)

Quick Snap Saturday: Piper and Grammie!

Piper and Grammie!

Piper has a new fave thing to do! She climbs up on grammie, gets in this ridiculous position with her tushy in the air and her head down low in an effort to receive some extra morning time petting. It's been working too, grammie hasn't disappointed. She's been giving her as much attention as Piper desires.

My mom has been here since Wednesday, we celebrated her bday on Thursday by taking her to a slightly upscale Italian restaurant that focuses on the flavors of Tuscany. Super good! I believe a good time was had by all and is continuing to be enjoyed as we progress through the weekend.

Piper and Cody

Piper: Wakie wakie! Come on big bro, lets play!

Piper: Aha, you're awake! Play with me!
Cody: Honestly, does she really think I'm so desperate to do something that I want to play with her?

Cody: She is crazy! She thinks I'm actually going to play with her. Go annoy Simon!

Quick Snap Saturday(on Sunday): A Sea of Graduation Caps!

A Sea of Graduation Caps!

So there you sit at a graduation eagerly searching through the sea of caps trying to pinpoint the grad you are there to see? Sound familiar at all? You know, a "Where's Waldo?" moment! Oh man, I loved Where's Waldo...still do!

Back on topic, this past Tuesday as our nephew graduated from high school, we had one of those "Where's Waldo" moments. We eagerly looked over and over the caps to try to find Dylan.  We soon spotted him! He helped us out greatly by placing 3 triangles on top of his cap. He's a huge gamer and the three triangles symbol is used a lot in the Legend of Zelda game. Congrats to the new grad!

On to June!

The rainy days ceased at the beginning of this week. And we all somewhat gladly welcomed in June! We are in the process of drying out.  Cody is a happier boy! Although I must say, he was a trooper during the rain soaked May. Stand up and receive your round of applause Cody-man!  I'm still surprised he dealt with it as well as he did.

It continues to be a bit unbelievable that we had so much rain during May. There's still evidence of high waters around in many places. Brad has had to alter his route to work to avoid flooded roads. I've never seen the rivers in our area so full.  The water remains even with the freeway.

I don't believe we will ever forget May of 2015! It was rather memorable. Now it's on to June! Lots going on! My mom arrives to our swamp land next week. Should be a fun visit! Her furry-grandkids are looking forward to it, as are we!
