Big News

Bubsy: Where to begin? Oh where to begin? So much took place this week. Tons of big news around here. First we got a new president. Then Cowboys got a new coach. Mom had family from AZ come to stay with us for a few days. Plus there was big news at mom’s work.  Mercy…what else took place, Sissy?

Sissy: It was freezing all last week and mom had one of her episodes. 😞 It was hard to watch her in so much pain.

Bubsy: You are so right. We stayed by her side all night long. She came home from work went to sleep on the floor in the living room and didn’t wake up until midnight. Then rolled over and went back to sleep. Woke up at her usual earlier than the break of dawn time and got ready for work. Somehow she made it thru the rest of her work week.

Sissy: It was a difficult episode for her. She’s still been recovering from it this weekend.

Bubsy: Now let’s review…we got to meet new people from mom’s fam in AZ. Surprisingly, sissy actually was rather okay with the fam we met. It was rather shocking.

Sissy: I didn’t let them hold me. But I let them pet me a lot.

Bubsy: I, however, let them pet me, cuddle me, kiss me. And I occupied their laps as frequently as possible. 😉🥰….Let’s change gears, big news around these parts….Cowboys have a new coach. Are you impressed, Sissy?

Sissy: Nope! So what! More of the same. It’s barely even a change from McCarthy to the new guy. I’m not impressed.

Bubsy: You aren’t the only one. The city of Big D is not loving the Cowboys choice. I think the city wanted a big name….a headliner!

Sissy: I think you mean….PRIMETIME! This city was ready for the era of Deion Sanders as coach.

Bubsy: Now our mom of course had a difficult week with her health episode then she was completely caught off guard when the principal at her school announced she will be leaving in Feb.

Sissy: I was shocked when mom came home to tell us that news.

Bubsy: I was shocked too. But mom is adjusting to this new news rather well. As mom said…her little school is a “hot mess” and needs lots of help to get out of this difficult time….Well sissy, I think we caught everyone up pretty good on our long week. So let’s go finish watching football. Dumb Eagles are going to New Orleans but who will join them?

Sissy: I know who our household is obviously rooting for. 🦬

Bubsy: Let’s go watch the game! Below is a video of sissy enjoying the company that came to visit. She really can be tolerant of new people. Who knew? 😉 Everyone out there, have a good week!

Got Sand?

Bubsy: Fancy meeting you here, sissy. We’re finally back to our blog after taking a little extended holiday break. And just like that, it’s a new year. Hello 2025! How are things with you, sissy….thawed out yet?

Sissy: Things are improving, not sure I’ve completely thawed out.

Bubsy: Boy oh boy, we have been thru it this past week. We had quite the snowstorm. It fell hard and fast. They brought 400,000 tons of sand in to our area to sand the roads. The city was completely shut down for a few days. Things were starting to get back to normal yesterday.

Sissy: It was soooo bizarre. It was brutally cold for a few days then white stuff started falling from the sky and it didn’t stop for quite awhile. I was not pleased. I had no clue where the ground was or where anything was.

Bubsy: And after the Dallas Mavs played their game on Thursday night with no audience because the city was snowed in, the Cotton Bowl barely escaped being canceled. But never fear football went on. Sadly, the Longhorns will not move on though.☹️

Sissy: Mom’s car looks like a major mess. She needs a car wash. 💦

Bubsy: It’s from all those tons of sand they had to dump on the roads. I have a sneaky suspicion, that was not our only snowstorm this season. I think another one will come along.

Sissy: Bite your tongue. I don’t need to deal with anymore snow or ice. It was not fun. I required being carried everywhere because my feet are WAY TOO PRECIOUS for snow. ❄️

Bubsy: Well sissy, let’s wrap this up and go get some zzzz’s before the evening football game.

Sissy: Good idea…especially since I’m trying to avoid watching the Eagles right now. Here’s to the Eagles….😝

Bubsy: Pardon her, she’s a typical Dallas, Texas girl….gotta hate on the Eagles. Below is our pic as we tried to hide from winter under our hoods. 😉 We also included a few pics mom took at the store today when she ventured out to look for groceries. People stormed the stores when the snowstorm was arriving and since the snow storm ended no deliveries have been able to get into our area. As a result there’s lots of empty store shelves.

Sissy: Good thing mom keeps our food stocked up. I can’t deal with the bad weather and an empty tummy. I’d lose my mind. 😵‍💫

Bubsy: Sissy, you did lose your mind dealing with this snowstorm. But don’t worry, I’ll help you look for it.😉 Anyway, as I said before….time to wrap this up….have a great week everyone. Stay warm! 🥶
