Mundane Monday
Mundane Monday, nope not at all. Not when mom finally lets me open a box of goodies that arrived days ago for lovely little me. That's my fluff head looking in the box. All boxes in our household are in "quarantine" too. Quarantined from us for a couple days before mom opens them. Dad however, rips into anything that arrives for himself. Dad is not nearly as concerned as mom. Mom is concerned but just the right amount. Not the crazy driving in her car with a mask and gloves on. She's cautious but not insane. Dad is like not buying into this at all anymore. He was cautious for the first 2 weeks then he was done with it, started believing there's a bigger conspiracy going on.
So yeah things are interesting around here. If I back up and run into a box that hasn't sat long enough for any germs to die on it then mom's got my tush in the bathtub scrubbing me down. Meanwhile dad is rolling his eyes as he tells mom a sudden bath for me is not necessary. Indeed it's interesting times!

Quick Snap Sunday
Let me start off by apologizing to the Fort Worth area. I'm sorry my husband has been buying up all the cereal. Seriously, he got in trouble the other day when he walked in the door with more cereal. I rolled my eyes. We have way too much as it is. Although I will say Brad never sets foot inside grocery stores, only Walgreens. So there's my tip to the greater public, Brad is only buying out Walgreens, if you stick to the grocery stores you'll find cereal. LOL! Buying tons of cereal is not new for Brad. Long before this quarantine happened he was buying it all up too. Mercy me, this man I married has a problem...he can't resist a cereal or chip sale. LOL! He's constantly buying cereal and chips every time either is on sale at Walgreens. This has been the case since I married him. We have 21 boxes of cereal in our house. It's ridiculous. Oh and here's the kicker...I don't eat any of the kinds he buys. I wasn't raised having "kid" cereal. I was raised with more "adult" cereal so that's what I eat. There's one box of cereal in the house for yours truly...the rest of the cereals are all Brad brands!
Anyway, moving onto the quick snap...this is Piper's life right now. Decorated by her little brother. It's just not easy being the big sister to a rowdy little dude. Anyone sympathize with her issues? They get along very well. It took some time for them to become friends. It was more about her accepting him then him accepting her. But she finally gave in and is buddies with him. During his latest play session he could have been kind enough to place a toy over her big belly before I snapped this pic. LOL!

Fed Up Yet?
It's official...this has gotten to me! I'm tired of it. I'm ready for life to return to normal. I just want a normal date night with my husband. I just want to walk around my neighborhood and not be afraid of everyone I come near. I just want the media to SHUT UP!!!!! Let me say that again...I want the media to SHUT UP!
Oh and I had no clue this is the United Two States of America. Did you know there's only 2 states in the U.S.? California and New York, the rest of us simply do not matter. How much air time has Texas gotten...zero! We were one of the first states declared a disaster state. But all that matters are California and New York. Notice how New York is even running ads here in Texas for donations to their hospitals. And the Governor of New York has his press conference streamed live every morning. Seriously, this is the United Two States of America. Apparently it's only the biggest and bluest states that matter the most. Are you in a red state, then you are insignificant. Sorry for you! I'm about to start my own campaign it's called Red States Matter!
Now let me get to the masks...come on people are we really that dumb? Is society really this idiotic? People driving in their own car with a mask on. What is going to infect you in your own car? You are the only one breathing the air in your car. Quite frankly I don't believe the masks are worth a darn in protecting you from getting anything. Which was actually stated when this first began back in March by doctors and experts. But yet the longer this goes on the more time they have had to brainwash everyone into the false sense of security of wearing a mask. Plus you have those trying to take advantage by making a quick buck making masks. I turned on the news the other day and the anchors were all wearing masks. It's insane! And did anyone see how Nancy Pelosi was wearing her mask the other day? It was so loose at one point a moth could have flown in there. Masks do not protect you, masks protect others from you. Duh! Look it up if you don't get it. Its a false sense of security they(mainly the media) is pushing onto people. But stop and think about it...if wearing masks was the answer then we wouldn't be on lockdown. Everyone would have been told to wear a mask in public and no lockdown would have been needed. Oh and one more thing to those that are wearing bandanas to protect themselves, come on you look like a bank robber not a person protecting yourself from the coronavirus. I mean seriously if all this mask stuff continues it's going to be a real issue for police. Not being able to tell who means harm and who doesn't. Not being able to give accurate descriptions of anyone either. I also read last night how Lysol is getting complaints of people getting sick from spraying their fruits and veggies with it. And I say again, is society honestly filled with this many morons? How many people nowadays have the education level above first grade?
Seriously, I'm getting so tired of hearing about it. It's everywhere. I mean everywhere. You can't escape hearing about the coronavirus, not even while watching the NFL draft. We live in this messed up society now that has one obsession after another. The media is never happy until they have controlled every form of media or social media with their obsession. They are not willing to easily switch gears, they drone on and on until they FINALLY realize the majority of people aren't listening anymore.
But I guess in the meantime I need to fix my attitude today and just adjust to the fact that this is STILL life right now. And hopefully in the near future things will start to return to "normal". So I guess my attention will turn towards helping Landon participate in the latest challenge on Instagram. Like Landon and I like to say..."catch him on the gram"! As in, catch him on the Instagram!

Quick Snap Sunday
Piper: Don't you have something better to be doing? I was fine sitting here alone.
Landon: I haven't cuddled up next to anyone in like about an hour, so no I don't have anything better to do.
Piper: Aren't we supposed to be social distancing still?
Landon: Huh, social distancing? I thought that was over or didn't apply to me.
Piper: Trust me, it's not over and when it comes to you it applies. It very much applies...MOVE.
Landon: I'm sure you don't mean that. Could you really imagine being distanced from me? I know you love me deep down.
Piper: You really don't know how to respect boundaries do you? You lean in any further and I'll bite your nose off.
Landon: I'm sure you don't mean that either. And no, I'm not good with boundaries! I wasn't made for social distancing.
Piper: Well I was! Go away!

Saturday Intellect
Not much going on here. Just got done playing outside with dad. Mom's doing laundry and dad says he's thinking about taking a nap...on the couch. Is that wise to nap on the couch, with little me around? I'm going to be crawling all over him the second he lays down. In the mean time, I'm contemplating the state of the world right now and when life might get back to normal. Or perhaps there's a new "normal" that will emerge. Heavy stuff for a Saturday and for a dog at my tender age. But that's me, I'm an intellect!

Easter Monday and Outtakes
Apparently it's Easter Monday in our house. Europe extends their Easter holiday to Monday, so I guess our household is too this year. What I mean is that Brad is off today. This has been such a difficult time for so many, lots of long hours, lots of uncomfortable conversations with residents, lots of uncertainty so one manager at Brad's property got Friday off and Brad, the other manager at the property got today off. Back to work for him tomorrow.
As for today though, we've been having fun watching movies and doing a whole lot of nothing. I've honestly treated today more as a relaxing holiday than I did yesterday. LOL! I usually do laundry on Mondays, and well no laundry has been done today. We actually just finished watching a Netflix movie called Angel Has Fallen, the third installment in the "...Has Fallen" series. Olympus and London already fell. Now it's Angel that is falling. Anyway, it was a good movie. All three installments are good. They are action movies centered around the President and his Secret Service.
Changing gears, I thought as an added bonus today I would post the "outtakes" from yesterday with Landon posing with his bunny ears. Poor dog had to wear homemade paper bunny ears. Cody used to have a set of bunny ears, but I have no idea where they are or if I even have them anymore. I'm guessing I don't have them anymore. Cody hated those darn ears. Cody hated them so much that by the time Simon came along I never tried them on him. However without further adieu...

Easter Has Arrived
Happy Easter everyone, from our family to yours.
It's been quite the Easter so far. I got up and did my usual morning tasks. Then made brunch for us, which consisted of a waffle bar, complete with strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream. After brunch we had a "toy" hunt in the backyard for Landon. He had great fun with it. Only problem now is he wants to keep checking the yard for more toys. LOL!
Once the "toy" hunt was over I turned my attention to making a cheesecake pie. However, while I was making the pie things went a little haywire. Brad was playing video games, next thing I know he's having a meltdown over losing his game on Madden. He stomped off to the bedroom and hasn't returned. It's been about an hour since that happened. We all have things that can really tick us off and set us off, just not so sure at this stage of my life I have anything that makes me as mad as Madden makes Brad. Oddly enough the game does have "Mad" in the title. I'm just saying!
Anyway, the plan is to watch Hop tonight...that's our tradition for Easter. I also made homemade caramel corn to go with the movie watching tonight. Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing Easter at home!
P.S. Thanks Landon for being a good sport and wearing those bunny ears. Homemade bunny ears was the best I could do this year. He's wearing them well! LOL!

Easter Preparation
So is everyone ready to celebrate Easter tomorrow? One thing is for sure if I really want to feel horrible about myself. If I want to feel like the worst wife/pet mom in the world all I have to do is go on Instagram. There's so many people posting all these great and wonderful pictures of treats they are making this weekend. What the freak? How are so many people scoring these special ingredients to make these special things? Am I the only one that couldn't find a ham, eggs to dye, or even a chocolate bunny?
One of my cousin's even posted pics of him and his kids decorating Easter Bunny cookies and making hot cross buns. I can't make hot cross buns and cookies right now? I have 4 eggs in this house, I can't use them making cookies and rolls, I need the eggs for other main items. But wait, let's delve into this slightly, people posting pics of hot cross buns and resurrection rolls on instagram...um, there's that many people that have those ingredients on hand? I guess I'm an odd duck that doesn't keep yeast in the pantry year round. I buy yeast when I need it due to the fact it has an expiration date that can't be ignored, not to mention our humidity here kills yeast that sits in a pantry too long. I've also seen lots of posts about these wonderful ham glazes to make for hams. Well if I could have scored a ham in one of our grocery hauls maybe I would need a wonderful glaze. Seriously, I feel awful that I can't do some of these things. I don't even have the ingredients for bird nests. Once again I couldn't score all the ingredients.
That all being said, my husband and "kids" will wake up to Easter stuff tomorrow. I did order some special items for Brad and the furries online 2 weeks ago. However, I could not get any plastic eggs so I can't stuff them to have an Easter egg hunt in the yard with Landon. Darn it! Anyway I'm feeling slightly bad. Clearly I'm not doing this quarantining thing right. Clearly other people are managing to get all this Easter stuff that I was unable to get. Maybe I didn't put in enough effort. To my cousin "whom will remain unnamed on this blog"...I tried, I really did try. Didn't really need you making me feel like crap for not being able to make classic Easter stuff. Doing the best I can with what we have here. Perhaps, one big difference is where we are.
Oh well, it is what it is! Easter will still be fun. It will be a lowkey festive this year. I did manage to figure out how to make a yummy Easter brunch and a pie with only 4 eggs. Anyone want to give me some dap for that?

Quick Snap Sunday
They are social distancing failures. A snooze fest not six feet, not even six inches apart from each other. I'm not sure Piper knows he's so close to her. However, she's kind of fond of him at this point so whether she knows or not, it wouldn't matter to her. That being said, don't think she's so completely into him that she doesn't give him some big sister sass from time to time....because she definitely still does. She likely always will. :)
