Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all! We are enjoying a quiet relaxing day. We opened our gifts late in the morning after enjoying our traditional Christmas morning breakfast.

As I type this we are watching football. We also watched The Grinch earlier too. It was a different version of The Grinch. Not sure what year it was made? But it was different and not a version either of us had ever seen. It was good, just different!

For dinner the plan is my "red and green" meal. Foods that are red and foods that are green. It's fun. It's been our tradition since we moved to this house. It will be a Christmas movie night for us. We plan on a double feature with a mini campout in the living room. Camping out by the Christmas tree...sounds fun right? Probably sounds dumb to most but we are dorks. LOL!

Hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful Christmas. Little more lowkey than in years past but it's okay! Make the most of it right? Enjoy the whole Christmas weekend! For your viewing pleasure...little Landon got boujee dressed up for Christmas! LOL! Oh my how I love this little boy!

Quick Snap Sunday

Lookie, lookie! How does it look? I designed it myself! It's my little dude on my new phone case. I got a clear phone case but dazzled up my own design of Landon to have it put on the phone case! Perhaps I should add an extra pic in the next day or two of what it looks like on my phone, so you can see the whole thing together. But trust me it looks good! Very happy with my design. Very happy with the overall case too! Love it!!!

Five Gone

Well it's Christmastime it's also Christmastime during a pandemic. Thanks to this pandemic there's lots of extra activity as far as delivery people. There's more and more stores offering delivery services than ever before. But not all those delivery drivers are honest and good upstanding citizens. To become a delivery driver for Uber Eats, Shipt, Doordash or Postmates there's little to no requirements. Just about any Tom, Dick or Harry can be arriving at your door.

Where am I going with this? The other day we received a delivery. It was a delivery that was not even ours. The guy delivered it to the wrong house. But while he was dropping off this delivery he decided to swipe 5 USPS packages that were at our doorstep. I did hear the delivery guy knock at the door but I chose not to answer because it's just too scary. I did look out the window but by the time I did he was at his car and was quickly putting my packages in his backseat. I couldn't catch the guy. And once he had them in his hands what was I going to do about it? There was really nothing I could have done.

In a way I wish I had opened the door when the guy first knocked to leave the delivery but then again it's just not wise to ever open the door unless you are indeed expecting someone or something to arrive...which I was not. So lesson learned! Watch our packages much more carefully!

Delivery services are now thriving thanks to covid. However, packages that are already at someone's doorstep getting swiped by a delivery driver is going to be a new issue for these delivery service companies. I guarantee we are not the only people to have packages swiped by a delivery driver during this holiday season. But here is something that needs to be added...markers on their cars! Something similar to a pizza delivery driver. However, maybe something more like a large magnetic sign that can be put on their car door while they make their deliveries that clearly reads: "Doordash" or "Shipt" or "Postmates" or "Instacart". In that instance I could have seen it was a delivery driver for Postmates and I could have called Postmates to tell them their delivery driver just swiped my packages. I spent a few hours on the phone yesterday trying to track down which delivery service was in our area at that specific time. Such a pain!!

Catching Up With Me...Landon

I went to two parties this weekend. Three of my furiends had birthdays. I could only make it to two of the parties. My social calendar is packed these days. My poor mom has a lot to keep track of. LOL! She has to make notes just to keep up with my challenges and special events. One of the party's was a "pretty in pink" party. Notice my cool pink shades in the first pic! Real men wear pink shades. Mom wanted me to participate but wanted me to still look boyish. I think I managed to do that! But does it strike anyone as odd to have a pretty in pink party in December? Anything goes these days! Am I right?

In other news, as mom and I type this my dad is rooting for the Giants. Yes, the Giants. I thought as a Cowboys fan he was obligated to always boo the Giants, Eagles, and Washington Football team(that's too long, get a dang name people)? So I'm confused! Apparently the Giants have a backup quarterback in named Colt McCoy who apparently went to Texas, he was a longhorn. So dad has to root for him! Did anyone stay up to watch that Sun Devil game last night. It was a very loud household of mine last night. Mom and dad were mad at the refs. Mercy! I did my best to try to keep the parents cool but it wasn't easy. Lastly, if you are a broncos fan you might want to get a pair of shades before tonight's game comes on. Seriously, use something to dim your eyesight on the game. Just a helpful Landon tip! Now scroll down to my hashtags...

Landon Got Mail

Here's one of his packages that arrived today. Look how cute the tag is on the package! Adorbs!
He got some pins. I'll pin them to his tote bag. A bowtie and some treats and obviously I have yet to open the items on the left. He is very curious about the items he got. I made the mistake of telling him he got mail today and he's been going bonkers trying to figure out how to check out his goods. LOL!

Back to the Grind

There I was in bed on Sunday night when I yelled to my husband that it was lights out for me. I was rather surprised that he was not making any effort to get ready to come to bed. I mean, it's Sunday night...Monday morning is tomorrow, back to the grind. Thanksgiving weekend is done. Put a fork in it type of done. A few minutes later he arrives in our bedroom to kiss me goodnight and tuck me in. Don't judge!...yes, I need to be tucked into bed at night. So while he was in the bedroom I asked him when he was planning on coming to bed, after all he has to work tomorrow. He says, "no, I don't". But honey, "tomorrow is Monday, back to work." He replies, "nope, I took one extra day!" And as quickly as a dog jumps up when it hears the word "treat" I sprang up out of bed and said "well then lets go watch a late night movie. Pop the popcorn!" LOL!

Skip ahead to Tuesday and it is indeed back to the grind! It was a bitter cold morning this morning. The first morning of the season I have delayed our walk until 11 AM. Call me a wimp if you want...but I do not walk Landon when it's 21 degrees out. No thanks I'll wait. It was 42 degrees at 11:00 so that's when we walked. Afterwards I decorated for Christmas some. We'll finish up later when Brad gets home. I decorate everything but the tree on my own. We always do the tree together. I love getting a new ornament each year. Just a random ornament, no more collecting Hallmark ones for me. Obviously the most popular ornament to commemorate this year is a toilet paper roll ornament or hand sanitizer ornament. They have both I have already looked. But then I'm like...um, do I really want to see a roll of toilet paper ornament hanging on our tree in years to come. It's kind of funny this year...but might be kind of tacky for years to come? I'll let you know what I decide.

In other news, Landon is on a win streak. I entered him in two contests last week and he won both! He was also invited to be part of a special Havanese event on instagram. It's a Season's Greetings card that is being made. He will be one of the hava's featured. I felt so honored they asked and invited him to be a part of the project. I have yet to decide how to dress him for the special feature. Also what does it say about us when our dog gets more mail than us? Yep, all his winnings and all his friends on instagram means things keep arriving for him. I just laughed out loud earlier when three packages arrived and they were all for Landon from other people! LOL! Seriously, my dog is cooler and more popular than I have ever been and will ever be. But I'm okay with it! I'm very happy being is momager (mom plus manager).  Reminds me of that song..."you got designer shades just to hide your face, you wear them around cuz you think you're cooler than me. You never say hey or remember my name, probably because you think you're cooler than me." Haha! Kind of a funny song! Landon does have designer shades, but he does still remember my name...it's "mommy" to him! LOL! Have a good week people out there!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone, it's little me! Wishing you all a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Mom is kind of busy making the feast. Dad is not a blogger. Piper is roaming around in the backyard. So it was up to me to wish you all a lovely turkey day. Even though some family gatherings might be smaller than usual or not happening at all let's at least all find something to be thankful for. Here's something if you can't think of anything...we've made it this far thru 2020. And Christmas is around the corner. So let's look forward not backwards!

Quick Snap Sunday

It's November and Thanksgiving is this week...and I'm behind on the blog. What else is new, right? So lets get back to blogging!

What's going on? Things are pretty quiet here. Staying home a lot like everyone else is. We decided to do our own thing for Thanksgiving. We will stay home and I will make the turkey dinner. I'm rather excited about making our meal. Only slightly concerned about making the gravy. Gravy is very important and I'm not as skilled at it as I should be. My too weaknesses in the kitchen are gravy for cooking and pie dough rolling for baking. Never judge my pies on how "round" my dough is. Mercy!

In other news, I entered Landon in a contest a couple weeks ago and hold on to your hats...he won! Yep, he's a winner! He was already a winner in his momma's eyes. So his prize should arrive in the mail in a few days. I'm excited!

My Wild One

Landon attended a party...oh wait I mean "pawty" for his friend Ted today. His stylist dressed him as well as I could. Lol! I was struggling with his darn bowtie. It wasn't noticeable enough. Kind of blended in to the bandana. Oh well, he looks cute. He was looking wild for his friend Ted's Wild Bday!

Oh Monday!

Oh mercy me it's Monday! Where did the weekend go? Let's start a campaign...no more Mondays! I wanted to chuck the alarm clock out the window when it sounded this morning. We stayed up too late watching a movie on Netflix. I was surprised when the movie was done and it was as late as it was. Yes, we ditched the Sunday Night Football for a Netflix movie. We watched a lot of the game but when it appeared Saints were fully in control we left. And hey, HUGE shoutout to the Saints for handing Brady his worst lose in his career. Landon tips his hat to you.

Yesterday before football I got Landon in the car and I was headed to take him to the vet for his shots. But the car wouldn't start. Dead battery! Grr! Had to change the appointment to later in the day. However, Brad didn't end up getting the battery issue dealt with until much later. So the 2nd appointment for Landon yesterday I had to be canceled too. Landon thought he was the luckiest boy EVER. Two vet appointments canceled because of a dead car battery. The battery is now fixed and Landon will not escape a third time. Come Wednesday he will get his shots.

Landon has a party to go to tomorrow. As his friend is turning 2. I got him a special outfit to wear for the party. I swear my dog's social calendar is more booked up than mine! I really wish I was joking about that but I'm not.

So Monday Night Football...the only thing that makes Monday's somewhat tolerable. Not sure what to think of the matchup though?...Jets and Patriots. Do I really care? No, not really. But both teams stink so maybe it's a good matchup? Have a lovely Monday evening!

Quick Snap Sunday

I'm cautiously optimistic as the 3rd quarter rolls on. Don't screw it up Cowboys. Roethlisberger is gimpy, so here's your chance. We have a no name at quarterback but he's doing alright so far. If he wins this game today I promise to learn his name by next week! ;)

Quick Snap Sunday

It's still Halloween weekend for a few more hours so I had to showoff my batty bandana. We had our campout in the living room and watched movies and played Halloween edition games. It was great. Got to sleep in mom's sleeping bag with her. Just call me the snuggle monster. I didn't get nearly as much treats last night as my parents consumed. Something wrong with that I believe. I should have scored more treats!

So it's November I've been told. Time change happened, parents seemed sluggish today and blamed it on changing the clocks. Dad wanted pancakes but mom has a rule...must get up before noon to get pancakes. He failed to do that. Dad's still a winner though...he didn't get pancakes but he got cookies. Mom spent time baking the "Halloween" cookies she was supposed to bake yesterday. LOL! Mom was super busy yesterday. She was on instagram literally ALL day long running my Spookathon. She spent the day posting and editing. My story on instagram was amazing yesterday. I think mom kind of liked hosting a Spookathon, aka a virtual party. If you are not on Instagram you missed out! Mom plans on hosting another virtual party again soon. So hurry up and get instagram people so you can see me and my furiends and all the hard work mom puts in to my instagram account!

Cowboys are playing in about an hour from the time I'm posting this. And what you see above may look strange. But it's not strange, instead it's useful. Here I am demonstrating another brilliant way to watch the Cowboys play. Bandanas aren't just for wearing around your neck you know? They can be worn over your eyes when you can't bear to watch the Cowboys get embarrassed on national TV. I really hope I don't have to wear my bandana like this tonight but it's handy just in case. Go Cowboys! Please at least look like a pro team and don't get embarrassed on Sunday Night Football in front of the whole nation. Please!

Happy Halloween!

Super quick post as we are watching movies this Halloween night! Hope all have been enjoying a fun Halloween! It's a different one for sure! We are having a campout in our living room and watching Halloween movies. Below are our furkid in their costumes...the Landshark and the Octopiper!

Halloween Eve

It's been a busy week. Landon is hosting his first ever event on Instagram. He's hosting a spookathon. Clever name or not? I thought it was clever. Basically it's a costume parade. People have been posting pics of their dogs in Halloween costumes and I've been featuring them on Landon's story each day. It's been super fun to see the different costumes. He even has his own hashtag for his costume parade...#landonshalloweenspookathon. I went with the name spookathon because "marathons" are long and I knew I wanted to have it run all week as opposed to just Halloween. People really get into Halloween. I can't believe how many have already participated and it's not actually Halloween. I think most will post their costume pics today, tonight, and all day tomorrow.

In the spirit of Halloween Eve here's the duo dressed up in two costumes that the pugs once dressed in.

Quick Snap Sunday

This is me, demonstrating how to watch a Cowboys game! Am I right or am I right? Don't look! Just don't look! It's painful! Got my jersey on...my military Cowboys jersey. Thought I'd pull out this jersey a week early to help give da 'boys some added mojo...it didn't help. As it stands right now...we have no Dak and now we have no Dalton. Third string QB is in which was just pulled up from the practice squad. Anything happens to this rookie practice squader we have a Tight End that played QB in high school that will have to play. So seriously if you are a Cowboys fan just put your hat low and don't watch!

A Rainy Chilly Friday

It's Friday or as Landon likes to say on instagram, FriYAY! It's chilly and windy and rainy. Well it hasn't rained in a few hours but more rain is in the forecast. Anyway, not much is going on here. Just happy it's the weekend. Happy to spend the weekend with my hubby and my bubsy. And yes, of course the Piperoni too!

I watched the debate last night. Anyone else watch it? I thought it was good, like better than watching a TV show good. Never even turned on the NFL game, stayed on politics all night. I was home alone...only time politics is on in our house. LOL! I go through times when I'm more into politics. Lately I'm more into it. I will say this without getting too into my personal political views. Trump won that debate last night hands down. Biden was caught in many lies. Biden also said right at the end that he wanted to do away with the oil industry...huh?  Anyway, I haven't paid attention to the media today but I'm sure it's being twisted around. The manipulation and brainwashing that has been going on in the American media is sickening. Absolutely sickening. People are so stupid these days, they are falling for it. They are allowing the media to impose their beliefs on them. No one can think for themselves these days! Pathetic!

No big plans this weekend. I think it's supposed to be chilly and rainy all weekend. So lots of staying home, oh wait we've been doing that since March. So yeah, nothing too exciting here. Although cuddling with my little dude is always exciting! Probably watch a movie tonight to clear our minds. Hope it's not one with aliens...not feeling like seeing aliens take over the planet tonight! ;) LOL!

So Boujee

It's boujee boy tribe day on Instagram for the month of October! Oh and there's now a boujee babe's tribe too for the girls. Here's my boujee look for this month. What do you think? I think my stylist did a pretty good job. I was really a ham in this attire. Look at that smile I'm flashing. Did you hear? I smile on command now! Oh and notice my shades. No more borrowing shades from dad. I got my own. Mom bought me a pair in every color she could find them in.  Hope this brightens someone's day out there. That's really the whole reason I'm on instagram...to spread smiles! Bright sunny smiles!

Is It A Bird?

Hi everybody, look at me...there's a new species that has just been discovered, it's a smiling type of bird named the Landon!

Mom was really in love with this pic. She loves how she can get me in a costume and I'll smile. Well not all the time but a lot of the time. Depends on how comfortable I am. We did a photo shoot a couple weeks ago and I had balloons all around me. No smiling that time, I was scared out of my ears of all those balloons.

So notice I'm dressed as a bird! And the Cowboys and Cardinals face off on Monday Night Football, guess who I'm cheering for? Just kidding, I'm cheering for both teams. I'll be passing out high fives for all scores for both teams. Dad will try to get me to be on his side during the game because I'm Texas born and raised. But I can't do that to mom. So I must cheer for both!!

My Thursday

So Brad has returned to tennis...sorta. The courts because they are outdoor are open again so they can go practice. No big organized practices and no team activities. But hey at least he can get out and do some hitting with a couple teammates finally. I was planning on watching Thursday Night Football but that was postponed. So let's see what have been doing? Playing with my little dude, laundry, and now watching a movie.

As for earlier today, it was super windy. Actually it still is windy. I was the annoying neighbor today who's recyclables were flying down the street. Immediately following my workout I had an extra workout chasing our recyclables down. Don't you hate it when you are almost there...almost to that annoying little empty can of tomato paste when another gust of wind comes along and you suddenly aren't close to that can...it's suddenly rolling some more. Grr! Why the city did not think to give us recyclable containers with lids is beyond me? It's just a giant container and no lid to contain stuff.

Anyway, now to the pic below, what in the world?...is that what you are thinking? It's my new set of kid sunglasses I bought for Landon. So here's the thing, either we have a little instagram star in our household or I am completely crazy. Maybe it's both. I'm definitely crazy...crazy about my little dude. I got these sunglasses for his boujee boy tribe that posts once a month. I got one in every color! Score!

Quick Snap Sunday

Quick Snap Sunday is back after a one week hiatus. It's the big girl that celebrated a birthday yesterday. Who are we kidding though, she's still celebrating! LOL! She does it big! And why not?

She did enjoy her tuna cake while her little brother had some ice cream...doggy ice cream, not hooman kind. She received a giant gift bag as her present. She loves it! Loves sitting/lounging/sleeping in a gift bag. Perfect gift!

She's ready to watch the game...desperate for a win...let's go Cowboys!

Piper's Birthday

To our lovely cat daughter, may you have a wonderful day! I think we got lucky with both our furkids. Piper is a little more of a challenge in certain regards. Actually just one area is a challenge at times. Otherwise she's a very sweet cat and she's good. She was even accepting to a little brother. She was especially accepting to him when she realized his food was so yummy! LOL!

Who Are You People?

Quick Snap Sunday is being hijacked this week. Instead it's a pic from this past Thursday! This past week was a weird week for little me. So on Wednesday it was mom's birthday but she was refusing to celebrate until October 3rd(yesterday)...she's weird...told you this was a weird week for me. However, mom's number one birthday wish came true when dad came home on Wednesday with a HAIRCUT! His first haircut in about a thousand months. I didn't recognize him. I got all up in his face and his hair trying to identify that he was really my dad. But wait, the confusion mounted for me, on Thursday mom came home with a completely different hairdo! That's when this pic above was snapped. This is my reaction to mom walking in with a different hairdo. My beard was even confused! I'm still not sure it's really my mom? This new looking lady person is very obsessed with me and kisses me about a billion times a day so I guess it's still the same mom. Seriously what are these parents of mine trying to do to me? Which one is more shocking you ask? Definitely mom! Mom's new 'do is more shocking than dad's. Because I've seen dad with short hair many times. But never seen mom change her hair at all since I came along. This is a BIG change for little me. Hope this doesn't mean I'm about to sport a new 'do! Yikes!

Flashback Friday

This is a flashback post from early in the summer. I don't know what you humans ever did to deserve a muzzle, I mean mask, but mercy life is weird nowadays. When I go out with mom I can barely tell she's my mom. Muzzle and sunglasses really do hide a person. I mean, mask and sunglasses really do hide a person! Back in June I wanted to share with my instagram followers how to wear their muzzles...oops, I did it again...I mean masks, so below is my collage demonstrating.

P.S. Hope, President Trump sees this so he'll know how to wear his mask too! Just kidding, not bagging on the Prez! Hope he gets well soon and now he'll be immune to it.

Son's Day

Today is National Son's Day. So by all means...let me post a pic of my "son". This is it, this is the closest I'm ever getting to a son and let me tell you I'm 100% great with that. I don't have to worry about this son ever telling me he hates me or telling me I ruined his life. I don't have to worry about his college or his future career. I don't have to kill him when he comes home with a tattoo or earring. I don't have to hide my eye rolls when he dates someone I don't approve of. I don't have to worry about him doing drugs or underage drinking. So yeah, perfectly happy with the furry son we have!!

Landon is 100% joy! He is easygoing. He is a snuggle bug. He is playful and energetic. He is intelligent. He's a kissy little dude too. He is happy...the happiest dog I've ever met. He is an all around good boy! I feel like we got really lucky getting him!

Quick Snap Sunday

This is me laughing!! Haha dad! As soon as you left mom took my Cowboys jersey off of me and put a bandana on me. I'm a bandana wearing boy today instead of a jersey wearing boy. Happy Fall y'all! It's just mom and us furkids today watching football. Dad ditched us to go watch football with his family. And no mom was not and still is not a happy camper about it. That's why I'm not wearing a Cowboys jersey anymore. I think we are secretly cheering for Seattle now. LOL!

Here's my hashtags and some tips for dad too...

#nojerseyformetoday #dadsintrouble #baddecisiondad #dadssleepingonthecouchtonight #dadstopforflowersbeforecominghome #bandanaboy #scoredthisbandanafrommyfuriendpocoonthegram

Side Note...dad tried to take me with him when he was leaving...yikes he got quite the look and finger wag from mom...along with the very stern warning from mom..."Don't you dare touch my baby!" Scary...but a funny kind of scary! If you know what I mean!

Let's Go Boxing

Landon's thoughts: "mom, you want to go boxing? I'm an expert little boxer. Wanna go 12 rounds? I'm ready for 12 rounds!"

I truly believe those were the thoughts running thru his head last night! Oh mercy me! Well here is something I learned about him last night...he hates pills! We switched from topical solution to pills for his heartworm prevention. I'm not sure that was a good idea after experiencing last night. I mean...what in the fluff? How can such a small dog put up such a fight?

Believe me he is an expert at boxing. He has all the moves...the bob and weave...a right jab...a left jab...upper cuts. He's got it all. I'm only slightly exaggerating. But seriously I felt like I had gone 12 rounds by the time I was done getting that darn pill in him. I tried everything I could think of. I mean I'm not a new pet parent by any means...but absolutely nothing worked with him. This is how it went...put it in, he'd spit it out then bob and weave then I'd put it back in his mouth and he'd spit it out while giving me a few jabs with his paws. It brought back memories of how Simon used to act when I tried to trim his nails!

So next month...if I give it to him next month...I'm not in favor of overmedicating my baby and giving him something year round that he does not need. Vets just want your money so they tell you to do it year round. Anyway, if I give it to him next month I will crush it up and sprinkle it over his food. But knowing him he'll likely turn down his dinner. We'll see that's my plan at this point. Depends on our weather though, if it's turned colder and mosquitoes have gone away I won't bother with it.

Quick Snap Sunday

Have I ever told you all how wonderful my mom is at photography. Um hello...mom...I'm down here and move to your left. See what I have to deal with. It's a wonder I'm as popular as I am on Instagram with this type of a photographer. Look at all the sidewalk showing in the pic...beautiful sidewalk isn't it?

While I blog, mom is folding laundry and dad is burning the house down. I can't believe mom ever lets him near the stove. He's trying to make himself some type of treat. It's an experiment of his. An experiment mom said sounded gross. I'm not much of a sous chef so he's on his own. I have to blog with you all, I can't do everything around here. What's Piper doing, you ask, sleeping! She's nocturnal. She'll wake up around 11:00. Ready for my hashtags...

Landon Goes Boujee

Boujee...I'm so boujee! Today is #boujeeboytribe day on Instagram, the 3rd Wednesday each month! This is how my stylist dressed me. Classy but not trashy. Fancy but not too fancy! Did she nail the look? This is my 2nd month joining in on the Boujee Boy Tribe. Boujee is a popular slang term in Australia, meaning fancy and classy with a little edgy thrown in. The Boujee Boy Tribe on Instagram was also started by some Aussie dogs. Now dogs from all over participate. Last month the girls on Instagram complained so they added a Boujee Babe Tribe this month. Cue my mom rolling her eyes. I think mom believes girl dogs get enough attention let the boy dogs have at least one day each month to flaunt their style! Time for my hashtags....

His First Feature

Something big happened today. Something exciting happened today. What was it you ask? Landon got his first feature on Instagram. Can you believe it? I was so shocked! I was so happy and excited too.

What is a feature you ask? There are accounts/sites dedicated to different breeds of dogs and they "feature" their fave dog of the day each day of the week every week. It's a big honor to be seen on their site. It's great that my little dude caught their eye and they wanted to feature him on their site.

I'm not trying to make Landon a superstar or anything but I want to further his Instagram account as much as I can within reason. My main thing is to have fun sharing my little pride and joy with everyone that cares to spend anytime at all looking at Landon's site on Instagram. My hope is for people to see his pic and smile. Spreading smiles is what Landon is all about. He is the happiest and biggest smiler you will ever meet.

If anyone out there has Instagram please go check out my little dude on the site he scored a feature from which is @havaneseoftheworld

Long Weekend Arrives

September arrived, already 5 days in. Believe me, I'm happy to see September because it means it will start to cool down. This past week for us was filled with rain. I was delighted at the change in the weather. This weekend the temperature has warmed a little but not bad. We actually are expecting more rain tonight. My little dude is laying next to me as I type this. Oh man, how I love my little dude. Back on task after that side note!

I'm watching college football. Yes, there's college football. I thought the entire season was canceled. I now realize it's only a few conferences that canceled or postponed their seasons. Sorry but by canceling or postponing those schools are only hurting their college athletes. Some of these guys have dreams of going to the NFL but if they can't play their NFL stock is going to be lower. If they elect to come back and play in college longer, then their NFL career will be shorter as they spent an extra year in college. Think about it...it's not a good thing not having the season at all. Athletes careers are rather short. Really wish people on the west coast could get it together. The PAC 12 would be going if the dumb governor of California wasn't preventing sports. Yeah, you read that right...I said "dumb" governor of California...not afraid to say it. Don't like him at all. Too concerned about his own political gain and his celebrity status...on a side note his hair bugs me too. Bugs me more than Trump's oddly enough.

So between college football and the U.S. Open tennis we have plenty to watch. Which is good! Brother-in-law and sister-in-law are coming over in a little while. Game night...Brad wants to play Jenga. I think we'll play video games too. Can't spend the whole evening playing Jenga. It's just not exciting enough...but hey that's just my opinion.

Quick Snap Sunday

I'm swinging! This was at my grandparents house, during a gathering for my Uncle Rob's bday. My dad received about a dozen warnings from my mom to not let me fall "off this contraption". Do you think he needed all those warnings? Maybe, probably. Was I scared to be on this swinging red contraption, nope not me. Happy and content, even posing for a pic.

Friday Night Has Arrived

It's Friday, what does Friday mean...obviously the weekend is about to start. It's 5 o'clock somewhere am I right? Actually I'm typing this a little after 7 o'clock so the weekend has arrived. Brad still isn't home yet but the weekend is beginning nonetheless.

Friday's also mean, curbside pick-up for us. I run around to do our curbside pick-ups. Actually chose Target again since we needed other stuff that's not as good to get at a grocery store. Of course my little partner in crime went with me. He is finally becoming a good little traveler, it took awhile with him. But he's finally there. He was never "bad" in the car but I could just tell he didn't enjoy it as much as most dogs. He has slowly come around and gotten more used to it. Now he's offended if he doesn't get to go. LOL!

This weekend we will be celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday. The small get-together is at my in-laws house. We hope to have a little "after party", as we have termed it, here at our place. So the main party is at the in-laws then my brother-in-law and sister-in-law usually come over after we leave the in-laws place. The 4 of us stay up late and play games. It's fun!

Hopefully you all have a few fun things planned this weekend or at least one fun thing!

The New Week

Forgot to do the Quick Snap Sunday post again. What was I doing yesterday? Keeping Landon's Insta up to date, watching basketball and the Indy 500. I imposed a boycott of the NBA on our household when they first started back up. Well that lasted until the playoffs officially started. Now Brad needs to watch his Mavs and his wife's ban on the NBA went out the window. Oh well, I'm over it.

One thing I'm not over...Piper ruining things around here. I was so furious with her on Saturday. Finally though her daddy is on to her. He is suddenly realizing I'm not kidding she has become a defiant lazy brat. She does what she wants and takes the punishment. Oh gee, who does that remind me of...Simon. Simon was the same way...do the crime and gladly do the time for the crime.

I mentioned Landon's instagram account...the little dude has gotten popular. It's a challenge at times to keep up with all his popularity. Keep up with his comment section, his challenges, and of course continuing to make posts. I love it though! I love being a part of the havanese community on instagram. When I get my new phone. I will go a step further with his instagram account...I will add video. We of course have taken many videos of the little dude but those are on our real cameras, too much of a pain to upload camera footage from a real camera to instagram. So yeah, once I get a new phone it'll be a breeze to do videos of him and upload them to instagram.

It's Friday Night!

Whew it's the weekend! Oh what a week. Glad it's the weekend. No big plans. Relax!!

Our week was consumed by the issue of our tree in our front yard. Long story short. Tree lost a HUGE branch. It basically split in two. It was determined unsafe to keep the tree. So the tree is no more. I was not happy to lose the tree. I didn't understand why it couldn't be trimmed up and left alone after the bad section was gone. I hated losing the shade. Oh the shade! I miss it already!!! The house looks so bare now out in front. I guess we'll get used to the new look. I'll have to put a little more effort into flowers for sure.

On the flip side...Piper was caught enjoying the new unobstructed view out the front window. She's never really cared about the view out the front window since moving to the house. Maybe she's discovered a new spot. Move over little brother!

It's a pizza and movie night for us! Not sure what movie yet. Something feel good was my request. Nothing about aliens taking over the planet. Mercy me!

Quick Snap Sunday(on Monday night)

Big sister and little bro...big sister ruling little bro...any questions? Notice that right paw of hers is slightly up off the ground. That's how she rules him, with her fuzzy fist. Do what she says or get whacked in the noggin!

Am I Being Punished?

As if dealing with all these covid issues and madness isn't enough, it's August and we still have empty shelves. Who the freak is hoarding stuff? I want names! LOL! Stores around us have now dropped many essential items down to 1...One per shopping trip. It was 3 per shopping trip up until now. Now only one!!! A new effort to stop the hoarding.

I have to say, I'm surprised, I thought we'd have more people rising up, wanting to get back to normal. Instead it feels like people want it to keep going, for as long as possible. Maddening because I look around on instagram and I see plenty of pics, even videos from other countries and no one is wearing masks. No one is still working from home either. They have people back to work. They have kids back in school. No one is acting like America...scared of everything.

But that's not my biggest issue today, my issue today is that I have hockey and basketball to deal with in AUGUST ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON. What is happening? Was I bad? Am I being punished? Doesn't it feel like we are all being punished? All of us except for the mindless idiots that are driving down the street inside their vehicle with a mask on. It's those mindless idiots that are helping to keep things from getting back to normal.

All I have to say is sitting here in our living room watching hockey in AUGUST and during the day seems and feels like a punishment. Will the madness ever stop? This is supposed to be my break from hockey and most importantly my break from basketball. I NEED a break from basketball. I might go insane soon. Dealing with covid and hearing about the Lakers and Lebron and watching men skate around on ice. It's only a matter of time until I go nuts. When they end up hauling me off to the "funny farm"(as my grandmother used to say), I'm taking Landon too. I need company!

A Landon Post

Oops, mom missed the Quick Snap Sunday post. Now you are forced to endure a Landon post and picture. I know it will be difficult...but buck up little campers!

Let's see what is going on here...it's hot...it's like Cuba hot, good thing I'm a havanese, right? Last week wasn't bad at all, this week we are paying for the niceness of last week. But hey at least it's been breezy in the mornings! Trust me, mom complains about the heat more than I do. Trust me on this one too, mom complains when it's too hot and when it's too cold. These hooman mom's are like never happy with the weather. Back in the wintertime she was trying to convince dad to move to Florida. Really mom? Have you seen me when the humidity is super high here in Texas and you want to drag my furry buns to Florida. One thing is for sure, I'll never be camera-ready in Florida. My instagram page will seriously suffer. Don't worry the talk about Florida is minimal in our house. I'll let you know when and if it ever gets too serious. Mom, mentions it mostly in the winter. LOL!

In other news, it's been extremely hard for mom to find our foods, mine and Piper's brands of food. Anyone else experiencing this issue with pet food since the pandemic started? It's a monthly problem in our household going on 4 months now. The stores just simply don't have much to offer. Mom has gone to great extremes trying to find our food. I've been eating a sample bag of my food that our sweet neighbor got for me since she works at a pet store. As for Piper, well she ran out of food completely on Sunday. She's been surviving on treats and tuna. She's been getting a can of tuna a day. You know what I don't think she's been objecting to the food shortage, not since she's eating tuna all day. However, her delightful meals of tuna ended this afternoon when our order from chewy.com arrived. Can you believe mom only ordered food for the two of us. There were no toys in the box. I checked 3 times for toys. Mom needs to be put in a timeout! Don't you agree? Never buy food without buying at least one toy.

Time to wrap this up and post my picture...my hashtags will be under my picture...

Friday...Weekend Arrives!

I went with my little dude to do our curbside pickup today. Friday is curbside pickup day for us in this household. My little dude is getting more comfortable in the car finally. But someway somehow he has radar and knows when we are about to be home. As soon as we turn down our street he gets all antsy. Side Note...Target has figured out a way to be a little more personal while still be contactless and curbside. They text you while they are shopping for your items and the person that texts and shops for your items is the one that delivers them to your car. It's not quite like that at Kroger. It's a little more "robotic" at Kroger. Anyway for what it's worth Target has figured out a way to be slightly more personal in a impersonal age we suddenly find ourselves in.

In other news...plan on getting a new phone very soon. Maybe by Monday. My phone is so old it's ridiculous. It's gotten to the point of embarrassment. I don't want people to see my phone because it's just too embarrassing. I'm not sure why I've held on to it for so long. It has worked well, never had a problem with it. But it's to the point where it's losing the ability to do certain functions each month. So yeah, it's time to get a new one. Now here's the weirdo I am...I am picking my phone based on the case. Yes, you read that right. I've seen companies on Instagram that will put your dog's pic on your phone case. I need Landon's pic on my phone case...believe me, I do. I will choose my phone based on the phone case options. Yes, I'm crazy. Crazy about my little dude!

Anyone have any big plans this weekend? We are having my brother-in-law and sister-in-law over tomorrow night. Game night with some good food and extra entertainment provided by Landon. He LOVES his aunt and uncle. His aunt and uncle love him too. He showers his Aunt Debra with kisses and he loves cuddling up in Uncle Rob's lap. May you all have a good weekend!

Quick Snap Sunday

Snatch a packet of parmesan cheese and get a slice of pizza right? I mean, I need something to put this parmesan on. Unfortunately my parents didn't agree. I got nothing! I paraded around with this thing in my mouth and blinked my eyes of innocence for nothing.

In case you were wondering...No, I never tried to open the packet of parmesan. I grabbed it only by the corner, paraded around with it for a few minutes, then very willingly handed it over to mom.

And August Begins

What's been going on for us? Welcome to August by the way! Blah, August is always kind of blah in my opinion! Things have been kind of busy for us. We've had some household issues to navigate through the last 10 days.

Our toilet cracked right down the middle of the tank part. Strangest thing ever! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Apparently it was installed wrong when they did the remodel on this house. Got that issue dealt with. However, then Thursday night our a/c went out. We had a terrible night of sleeping, especially Brad. I spent Friday morning trying to get workers to come out to work on it. But I was told to call back if the house reached a certain degree otherwise we were not a priority and would not be put on the appointment books until early this coming week. Well it reached that important priority temp in our house in the middle of the afternoon on Friday but by then all appointments were booked up. So we had to wait until yesterday to get the A/C fixed. From Thursday night to Saturday midday with no A/C. It was not fun!

Now get this, as I was sitting there on the phone dealing with trying to get an A/C repairman to come out to us, I hear a strange noise at the same time Landon erupted into barking. Angry barking too! I look out the window to see our mailbox had been hit and run over. And Landon was not happy about it! It was a hit and run too, the guy looked back briefly then took off. Landon usually doesn't bark unless people are walking up the driveway to the house but apparently hitting his mailbox makes him bark like crazy. So yeah, the mailbox is a done deal!

Just briefly let me revisit the A/C issues...I'm not proud of it but I had moments from Thursday night to Saturday morning where I was quite the baby about not having air conditioning. I was tired of sweating. I was tired of guzzling water to stay hydrated. Seriously I was like Storm or Cody type of cranky. Brad overall dealt with it better than I did. But can I just say...he had a break from it. I was here all day Thursday when it was on the blink and I was here all day Friday when it was completely out. So perhaps I can be granted a slight bit of extra understanding. As for our furry duo, Piper just wanted to sleep through it. She told us to wake her when it was fixed! Landon was his typical go with the flow little self. He dealt with it by having a steady diet of ice cubes!

Just a side note...of the pets we've had Storm and Cody were the crankiest...which was the most cranky of all...I LOVE you so much Cody-man...yikes, I have to be honest, Cody gets the gold medal! Cranky old man from day one. But I always felt like I was good at soothing his crankiness or at least dealing with it. LOL!

More pics of Landon's Birthday!

Our little dude has had a nice little birthday. He had a surf's up virtual party on Instagram with all his friends. He received a special gift from his friend Moose next door. Plus he's got plenty of new fun toys. He even got a few toys that his momma considers "AZ" themed. We go heavy on toys for him because that's what he loves. Now it's on to a special ice cream treat!

Side Note: it appears taking pics meant for instagram do not show well on the blog. So here are some different pics. Pics taken straight from my camera. Which I think will show better than the post earlier today. Or at least I hope they show up better. However, I did add one pic to the previous post today just for the heck of it!

Happy Birthday Landon

To the sweetest happiest ray of sunshine I know, may you have a wonderful birthday! Mommy and daddy love you more than you will ever know. We are both obsessed with you.

It's not a good day in this household without snuggle-time with Landon. To us you are our "kid", you and your sister of course, our little fur-kids! You bring joy into our world everyday. You are sweet, sensitive, energetic, smart, and by far the happiest dog I've ever been around. You seem to wear a smile on your face 24/7, walking around spreading happiness. Thank you for being such a delight in our little family. Now go play with your new toys...let's face it you've already figured out there's new toys coming your way today. :)  Surf's up, my little dude!

Flashback Friday

Flashback Friday is little me! Hey, guess what? Somebody is having a birthday soon. Can you guess who? Gosh, did you guess me...yep it's me!

Mom decorated the house just a little bit for my party. It's a surf's up little dude theme. Mom calls me her little dude. Surfing is a perfect summer birthday theme, even though I've never been surfing. I'm sure I'll get to go surfing someday. I think I'm getting a couple new toys for my special day. I hope so...just toys, no treats needed!

In honor of my 2nd birthday, here's a baby pic of little me...

Back To The Grind

Today is the last day of vacay. Or rather our staycay! We didn't do anything. We stayed home all last week. Went out briefly a couple times to pick up food and that was it. Oh and I went once to pick up our curbside grocery order. Otherwise, we did nothing. Well nothing out and about.

We played games, had fun with our furbabies, and watched movies/shows. We're currently obsessing over Jack Ryan series on Amazon Prime. We just decided to give it a chance and we've already on to season 2. So yeah, we've spent time watching shows for sure during this vacay.

It's going to be hard to get back to the routine come Monday! In other news, mercy, last night we nearly got blown off the map. So much wind damage in our area. Everything on our back table under our porch was blown across the yard except for...wait for it...the small bottle of bubbles. Can you believe it? Coasters, candles, and a lantern was blown all over the place but the lightest item on the table stayed put. What the heck? Obviously the bottle of bubbles was in a spot where the pillars or something was blocking the force of the wind. The winds reached 80 mph in our area. Too bad the winds didn't bring cooler temps with it. Nope, just hot and hot and hot.

Quick Snap Sunday

What's going thru Piper's mind here? Nothing but sweet and lovely thoughts as she gazes at her little brother chewing on a rawhide or menacing thoughts of biting him? After this pic was taken she didn't bite him but she did try to grab at him as he walked by at one point. He's difficult to catch. Espeically for Piper!

They do love each other. It's just harder for her to admit or show love. She's a cat...what do you expect! Dogs are here to show love and be loved. It's their mission in life. Cats are here to grace us with their presence. Expecting to hear welcoming words and a red carpet to be laid out every time they walk into a room. No joke!

Brad's Brithday and Vacay

Yesterday was Brad's birthday. For obvious reasons it was a rather lowkey celebration. We had a party on Sunday. I'm not sure a party of 4 is exactly a "party" but like I said, everything has been toned down and lowkey for awhile now. I think the rest of 2020 will be toned down and lowkey. However, I'm super curious how things will be when Fall comes around. When summer ends, kids need to get back to school, and America's most watched sport of FOOTBALL wants to begin again. How will things be then?

Anyway, I did the best I could to give Brad a good birthday. Like I said on Sunday evening, we had a small party of 4 people, well 4 humans and 2 furries. Ate some simple food and red velvet cupcakes for dessert. We mostly spent the evening playing games. Games the birthday boy chose. As for yesterday, Brad's parents dropped by ever so briefly to see Brad and give him a gift. We watched a movie last night for entertainment. All in all I think Brad had a decent birthday!

Brad's off this week, we are enjoying a "staycation". Once again, for obvious reasons we aren't going anywhere. I'm sorry but I wouldn't trust staying in a hotel right now. Besides what's open to go do? Not much! I've heard lots of people are doing beach, mountain, and lake trips. I'm thinking the most likely "vacations" this year are renting a beach house, cabin in the woods, or cabin by a lake. But I'm sure the prices for those are sky high. No thanks, we'll stay home and be just as happy. I think overall I prefer a staycation any day over a vacation somewhere. It's always fun to go places, don't get me wrong but it's a hassle too. Staycations are so much easier. The worst part in my opinion traveling anywhere for vacation is after you get home you feel like you need a few days to relax and enjoy being at home.

Quick Snap Sunday

What you see right here is common! The common life I lead in the mornings. Mom puts my harness on me then delays my walk to take a pic of me. I mean, yes, I know I'm handsome, but can we go please? She likes my bedhead look and my chest hair look with the harness. She may need help?

You might notice my harness doesn't fit so well. I have a narrow chest not a broad chest like a pug. Mom is still trying to figure out how to "dress" me. She expected me to broaden out as the pugs did when they were around my age. But she has received the newsflash..."I'm not a pug, havaneses don't get broad". Geesh!

Now for my "signature" hashtag closings...y'all wouldn't know what to do with yourself if I didn't give you some hashtags.
