What's been going on for us? Welcome to August by the way! Blah, August is always kind of blah in my opinion! Things have been kind of busy for us. We've had some household issues to navigate through the last 10 days.
Our toilet cracked right down the middle of the tank part. Strangest thing ever! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Apparently it was installed wrong when they did the remodel on this house. Got that issue dealt with. However, then Thursday night our a/c went out. We had a terrible night of sleeping, especially Brad. I spent Friday morning trying to get workers to come out to work on it. But I was told to call back if the house reached a certain degree otherwise we were not a priority and would not be put on the appointment books until early this coming week. Well it reached that important priority temp in our house in the middle of the afternoon on Friday but by then all appointments were booked up. So we had to wait until yesterday to get the A/C fixed. From Thursday night to Saturday midday with no A/C. It was not fun!
Now get this, as I was sitting there on the phone dealing with trying to get an A/C repairman to come out to us, I hear a strange noise at the same time Landon erupted into barking. Angry barking too! I look out the window to see our mailbox had been hit and run over. And Landon was not happy about it! It was a hit and run too, the guy looked back briefly then took off. Landon usually doesn't bark unless people are walking up the driveway to the house but apparently hitting his mailbox makes him bark like crazy. So yeah, the mailbox is a done deal!
Just briefly let me revisit the A/C issues...I'm not proud of it but I had moments from Thursday night to Saturday morning where I was quite the baby about not having air conditioning. I was tired of sweating. I was tired of guzzling water to stay hydrated. Seriously I was like Storm or Cody type of cranky. Brad overall dealt with it better than I did. But can I just say...he had a break from it. I was here all day Thursday when it was on the blink and I was here all day Friday when it was completely out. So perhaps I can be granted a slight bit of extra understanding. As for our furry duo, Piper just wanted to sleep through it. She told us to wake her when it was fixed! Landon was his typical go with the flow little self. He dealt with it by having a steady diet of ice cubes!
Just a side note...of the pets we've had Storm and Cody were the crankiest...which was the most cranky of all...I LOVE you so much Cody-man...yikes, I have to be honest, Cody gets the gold medal! Cranky old man from day one. But I always felt like I was good at soothing his crankiness or at least dealing with it. LOL!
