Rarely is there a day in our little part of the world when one or two or all three of our furry kids doesn't do something that cracks us up. Sometimes you can see something is about to occur. Other times you are caught off guard by the funny moment.
The other morning while walking the boys I heard a stroller coming up behind us. The woman pushing the stroller we see nearly every morning. She has one dog, a Chihuahua. Now I'm not normally supportive of people letting their dog ride in a stroller. But in this case it makes sense. First off the stroller is for the baby she has and the dog is a Chihuahua. She clearly likes using her time out by the lake as a workout. She wants to move. And that little Chihuahua with it's tiny legs would never be able to keep up. So it rides in the stroller with the kid.
Back to my story, I hear the stroller coming up behind us. I notice Cody look to his side as he takes note that a stroller is coming. He looks again as the stroller begins to pass us. When the Chihuahua gets right up even with the boys he starts barking loudly. Cody had no clue there was a Chihuahua riding shotgun. He's too short. It was not in his vantage point. As soon as that Chihuahua sounded off Cody jumped at least 3 feet off the ground. I immediately started laughing. The jump he made, the look on his face of surprise, plus the look from Simon was too much for me. I had a great laugh so early in the morning. Thanks Code!

Where Is It?
The other night my husband arrived home, upon entry to our humble abode he immediately began searching. His eyes were scanning the kitchen counter. The island counter area also received a quick gaze. His eyes soon roamed over to the living room, scanning the TV stand and the couch. That's when he responded, "Where is it?". My response was, "Where's what?...What are you looking for?" I played dumb but I knew what he was looking for. He quickly and loudly proclaimed, "My Madden game?". Following that short sentence was his next sentence, "You always get it for me on the day it comes out, it came out today, so where is it?" I played dumb again, "Oh gee, honey, I didn't realize it came out today."
He let it rest for a few minutes while he went to change out of his work clothes. But he was soon right back to the subject of Madden football. He was convinced it was hidden somewhere in the house. Which is what I usually do. I hide things in somewhat plain sight. But still stuffed in a small area that you typically have to look at directly to spot the game. I finally weakened and showed him an email I received from preordering Madden football online. He was then ecstatic. I decided to preorder the game this time around because they were giving a free gift with the game when you preordered online. So he got the game plus a special code came in an email. The special code, which was the free gift will unlock special levels within the game.
I know, I've probably lost most people with that explanation. Here's the point. Preorder means you got an extra gift with purchase but the game comes to you in the mail. Buy at the store on the day it's released and you get just the game no special gift added to your purchase. In the end he was a happy man but slightly disappointed he had to wait for it to arrive in the mail versus playing it that night! I felt a little bad but yet he'll love accessing the extra levels! So it's all good! I think!

Quick Snap Sunday: Bound For The Marines!
Bound For The Marines!
Yesterday the family gathered together for the farewell/good luck party for Hunter the son of one of Brad's cousins. He's heading off to the Marines! And you know me...I couldn't resist making him pose for the top pic with his military themed cake! The third pic is Hunter with his mom Davina(Brad's cousin).
He has 13 weeks of basic training ahead of him. He'll finish basic training just a few days before Christmas. He will get to come home for Christmas and New Year's. I know his family is excited about that!
It was an enjoyable get-together. We all hung out for hours. Dined on fajitas and other munchies associated with Tex-Mex food. Yes, we also watched the Cowboys game too! Two TVs prominently displayed the game.
I even played basketball with the boys! Oh and I might add, I was wearing dressy sandals and a dressy blouse! Nope, I didn't even break a nail! LOL!
Good time had by all!

Quick Snap Sunday: Slumber Well!
Slumber Well
It was new bed Saturday night for the pugs last night. They scored a brand new bed, because Cody and the washing machine keeps killing beds in this house. Yes, just one bed! Not two beds. I won! Brad likes the boys having their own separate bed. I like the boys to share. Not that I make them share a tiny bed, I like getting one big enough to accommodate both.
This bed was a great deal. A large pillow type that's nice and fluffy. It's going to be great for winter. They'll love curling up together on the cozy plush material. Slumber well my little puggies!

Splash!
Oh isn't it fun having a cat daughter! Yes it is! Definitely different than owning dogs. No preference though, I love them all equally!
Today Piper provided us with quite the laugh. I was walking toward the spare room as she darted in front of me and headed into the bathroom. I could see her from where I stood as I began to open the door to the spare room. It all happened in a flash. She was running as she decided to jump up on the toilet. She misjudged things a bit and landed in the toilet bowl the lid came down hitting her squarely on her long tail. She freaked! Bounced up out of the situation as quick as she could, speeding off to the living room and leaving behind a streak of water. I couldn't help but bust out laughing. Brad immediately started laughing as he was privy to her response of what she had just been through. She checked herself over thoroughly as Brad looked on. She was clearly most irritated about her suddenly wet front paws.
Storm was very fascinated with toilets. I'm hoping to teach Piper different. I'm not sure what she thought was in the toilet, based on her reaction she wasn't expecting water to greet her. Cats naturally do not like water but lots of cats(like Storm) love drinking out of the toilet. Trust me, Piper will not be like her predecessor in that area! I hope!

It's Friday!
Woo-hoo, Friday has arrived. It's a long weekend for us. I worked my tail off this week knowing that Brad was getting Friday off. He worked last Saturday, his reward is to have today off. How sweet it is!
He had a busy evening schedule from Tuesday to Thursday so I finally get to see him. I feel like I haven't seen him much. I know that sounds odd when we live under the same roof. But he's been gone to work then gone in the evenings too.
Oh this was too cute, must tell! It was Wednesday morning, the furry kids didn't get to see Brad on Tuesday evening because he was at tennis and came home after I had put the trio to bed. When Wednesday morning rolled around Cody followed me out on our balcony, he laid down to suntan as I watered my plants. He wasn't ready to come back in right away so I let him stay out there. While he was on the balcony Brad came out of the bedroom and headed off to work. A few minutes later Cody came back inside, looked around briefly then plopped down facing our bedroom door. I soon clued in to the intense stare he was giving the door, he was waiting for his daddy to come out and greet him before going to work for the day. I told him Brad already left for work then opened the bedroom door for him to see no daddy around. He looked a bit deflated then slowly walked over by the window. Aww, he loves Brad!
Well here's to a great weekend! Hope everyone has a good one! Watch some tennis or football if you fancy those things! :) We will be watching both!!!

Should You Dress The Boys?
Okay get ready to be slightly stunned. It's August and we REALLY did have this conversation. Via texting earlier today these words were mentioned. Brad texted me to say it's almost chilly out. I texted back to tell him I've worn a jacket during two walks so far with the boys. I learned from last night after coming home cold from the damp weather. Next question Brad poses to me via text was whether or not I should be dressing the boys? I told him I choose to dress the boys only in the winter months.
I mean, Simon has a reputation to uphold, he can't go around in August in a sweater. Other dogs will think he's a wimp wearing a sweater in the summer. Am I right Simmie?
I really don't think it was cold enough for them to need sweaters. Brad soon responded to tell me, "Cody's probably frozen". Ha ha! Cody possibly was. We had to cover him up yesterday because he was laying in his bed shivering. But he was damp from the rainy weather and their beds we recently realized are laying in the direct stream of the a/c. So that makes sense. For as much fur as that puggie has he sure does get cold easily. Simon has a thinner type coat yet he's like a mini heater! Weird!

Is It Coffee Time?

I saw this and couldn't resist posting it here. I'm not a coffee drinker. I have an occasional sip here or there. And in the winter time, I might partake of something from Starbucks if I happen to be around someone that wants to make a coffee run. Generally, coffee isn't on my radar. However, this is just too cute to not post, coffee drinker or not, one can appreciate the humor.
One can also relate since it's a Monday! Aren't Monday's slightly harder to get out of bed and going for the day? Many Monday's I could probably use a jolt from coffee, especially this Monday. I averaged 3 and a 1/2 maybe 4 hours of sleep this weekend. I have to catch up tonight for sure! Happy Monday!

Quick Snap Sunday: Piper and Her Cube
Piper and Her Cube
I couldn't resist snapping this photo this morning. Okay a few photos this morning of little Piper chilling in her cube. She loves this cube. We only wish the tunnel that is attached to the cube on the left would be more stable and not so collapsible.
She's a cutie! I of course never saw a cat in my future. Then again, I know Brad never imagined 2 pugs in his future. Oh isn't life fun!
The thing I enjoy most about cat-ownership?...they talk to you more than dogs do. The boys are expressive, especially with their eyes and facial expressions. But cats carry on a "meowing" conversation with their humans! It's fun to see exactly what she understands! Cats apparently have the mental ability of a 3 or 4 year old child. Yep, she's kind of like dealing with a toddler at times! LOL!
A very brief side story...Going back to my mention of how Brad never saw 2 pugs in his future. I guess the other day while he was at work he walked outside his office quickly spotting a man walking his pug off in the distance, Brad said he then quickly ran outside proudly announcing to the man..."Hey, I have two of those!" Lol! Proud pug-daddy!

My Magazine Subscription Story
I'm posting this to kind of give a little heads up to others out there that might have magazine subscriptions. I receive one magazine a month. We won't talk about how many magazine subscriptions Brad has...will we honey? :)
As for me, I have one, it's of course a cooking magazine. Well we received a postcard in the mail recently stating my subscription would automatically renew on the stated date they listed meaning our credit card would be charged on that stated date. I then noticed the amount it was going to charge us. I couldn't believe my eyes! It was more than double...yes DOUBLE the price I constantly see the 1 year subscription going for. I'm always seeing the price on those little postcards that fall out of the magazine I receive each month, I knew I was getting ripped off. Right at that moment I stepped to the computer went to their web site to see the price for a new subscription was indeed, $12.99 for a year. The price they were charging me, $29.99. What? No way! Guess what I did? I promptly cancelled my subscription then the next day I went back to their web site and bought it again. Getting it for the $12.99 new customer price.
So watch your magazine subscription prices! There's no loyalty with companies anymore. There's no effort to give anything extra to long term customers. Remember when companies used to give a free item when you renewed a subscription? I remember a few items I got back when I had subscriptions to other types of magazines. Those days are gone! Can you believe that though? More than double the price was what I was going to pay versus what a brand new customer was going to pay. Geesh! Honestly, that is exactly what companies are banking on, they are banking on the fact you'll briefly skim the postcard they sent being happy your subscription will automatically renew. Not giving much, if any thought to the price listed in a tinier font. Gotta love the tinier font for the price!

Wait This Is Petsmart, Right?
Let me start off by saying my Friday's are quite busy. Many Friday's are spent with the added task of being a pug taxi as I take them to an appointment, the groomers, or day camp. Those types of activities always end up on Friday.
So there I am standing in a Petsmart grooming section. On a Friday, might I add. I arrive to claim our two muggie-puggies. The groomer assistant brings Cody out to me then turns around to go back to get Simon. A woman walks into the grooming section, promptly asks me to "move" Cody because....oh get this...are you ready...she's afraid of dogs!!!!!! I was dumbfounded! Slightly stunned! Speechless! I give her a puzzled look as I'm thinking, 'wait this is Petstmart, right?'...if you have a fear of dogs don't stand in the grooming section of a Petsmart, they aren't grooming iguanas!
Based on my puzzled stare she was receiving she offered up the info that she was only in a Petsmart because a friend of hers was over looking at the fish. Then go over to the fish section was the next thought entering my mind. Did I move Cody? Nope, afraid not folks! I guess I wasn't very accommodating because I didn't make Cody move a muscle. It's Cody...he's the most friendly little dude there is. Now for the not so good part...the grooming assistant is bringing Simon out. He's next to the assistant making the long trek across the room to me as I say out loud, "Oh, here's my little rottweiler trapped in a pug body!" I couldn't help it! It simply just came out of my mouth! The lady quickly moved to the side. I reached out to grab Simon's leash adding it to my grasp then led both boys out the door of the groomers and back into the store.
When I came home to tell Brad the story of picking up the pugs. You know what he instantly asks? He says, "Please tell me you didn't make Cody move?" Ah yes, apparently the two of us think alike in this area too. He wouldn't have made Cody move either!
Not trying to be mean or anything but if you have a fear of dogs, why go stand in a grooming section? If your fear is that intense stay out of a Petsmart, seeing a dog shop alongside their owner is a common sight! I mean if you have a fear of snakes, you're likely going to steer clear of the reptile section right? Right! If you have a fear of lions at the zoo, you'll likely skip that exhibit. You get my point!

Quick Snap Sunday: Shopping With The Boys!
Shopping With The Boys!
It's been me and the "kids" for most of the weekend. Brad had to work yesterday and he had a class to go to all day today. So I've been enjoying the company of our pet trio. To help pass some time, I took the boys to Petsmart. The three of us did some shopping and browsing.
Simon was interested in everything. He realized he was just barely tall enough to rest his chin on the corner of the basket. He looked and watched everything. And, I mean EVERYTHING! Cody did some browsing as he did his best to try to attract attention in the form of people wanting to pet him. He craned his neck as much as possible at one point when we went by a huge selection of toys. He loves toys!
Simon is motivated by everything and Cody is motivated by toys. Simon is technically motivated by food. But he's willing to look at everything because he's assuming it might just lead to food. Or at least he's hopeful it will lead to food! LOL!
Woo-hoo Brad has tomorrow off due to the fact he worked this past Saturday. We can finally have a little bit of an extended weekend together since we've missed out on the actual weekend! I can hardly wait! I've missed him. Even though I get to see him in the evening it's just different when he's not home when he's technically supposed to be home for the weekend with me. As I type this I'm actually still waiting for him to get home from his class. So literally I haven't seen him all day or yet this evening! I'm like a lost puppy dog without my mate! LOL! Funny how once that special someone comes along you can't remember, nor do you care to remember what life was like before the special someone! Like I said a Saturday or Sunday without Brad means I'm a lost puppy dog!

In Total Agreement!
Quickly dropping in with this small tidbit to add to the blog. It's really not much but I happened upon this quote and well....I couldn't agree more! Trust me the boys definitely agree with this little quote as well.
The famous German humorist named Loriot was a pug owner. He had numerous pugs over his lifetime. He once wrote this, "Life without a pug is possible, but is without sense!" That's right!
Those are words to live by! Am I correct boys? In this house they are certainly words we live by!

Quick Snap Sunday: Totally Thrilled!
Totally Thrilled
Cody: What is this the 14,000 picture this mommie of mine has taken of me?
Piper: Code keep your head down, don't raise up. I don't want your head to block me.
Cody: Trust me the camera likes me more than you.
Piper: How could the camera like you more? I'm younger! I'm prettier!
Cody: Whatever, age before any type of beauty is what I say! You are just the little thing that someone decided to bring home with them one night.
Piper: Oh come on, life was boring until I came along.
Cody: Boring? No, definitely not! Life was great! All I had to worry about was Simon. I was on the fast track to becoming daddy's favorite. Mommie is way too neutral, I gave up winning her fully over years ago.
Piper: Scared of competition? I get it now! That's why you are always so darn grumpy! People need to bow down to you all the time.
Cody: I have worked too hard and for too long to see my popularity in this household take any type of dive. And now look at things! Now I'm taking orders from a cat to not put my head up because it might block her. What to make of my life?
Piper: Oh please, you get everything you want and you get to go OUTSIDE all the time. I'm only allowed indoors, these human parents freak out when I try to go out on the balcony. But you get to spend all afternoon out there watching people at the pool. And you get better treats than me. I get these little tiny wishful treats while you and Simon lick out peanut butter jars and chew on rawhides for what seems to be hours upon hours. Things aren't that great from where I stand. Furthermore I'm still young and learning my way. The other day daddy picked me up, he had some sunshades on. Well, I'm not used to seeing him in sunshades. All of a sudden I look at him and all I could see was 2 more of me staring back at me through those sunshades. I freaked. I nearly lost my cookies and more. I leapt out of his arms, headed for the next county.
Cody: (laughing) That was funny to watch. I will say you have brought me a few laughs in the last year and a half. Maybe you've been worth it! And you are right, I certainly wouldn't want any of the ridiculous treats you get. No thanks I'll take my rawhides and peanut butter any day.
Piper: Aw, Cody! Thanks! Thanks for noticing it isn't all bad now that I'm on the scene!
Cody: Yeah, I guess you're alright! I guess I can continue putting up with both you and Simon.
Piper: That's the spirit Code, like mommie tells you....don't be so much like Eeyore!
Cody: Can I raise my head up yet?
Piper: No. I'm giving the camera my new direct stare.
Cody: Oh geez, somebody confiscate the camera from mommie, so I don't have to keep taking orders from a cat!
