Quick Snap Sunday

Halftime napping!

We're all sitting here watching the NCAA basketball. During halftime though why not catch a few extra zzz's? Brad was trying to make it darker by using the pillow to block the light from the front window. Hence, the pillow over him. Meanwhile little dude is right next to his daddy...peeking. Not sleeping! I love how he just adjusts to whatever we are doing. Even though he isn't actually tired at the present moment, he's good with chilling with his human parents. I must say, and I know I'll sound biased but oh well, he really is such a GOOD boy. I'm shocked how good natured he is, even as a pup-pup.

I mention his ability to adjust to what we are doing and not force his own agenda because not all puppies are like him. Not all are good at going with the flow. Definitely one of my favorite characteristics about little Landon.

Current And Past

Landon says, "Shh, don't tell her I'm here!"

Well once in awhile you can now catch these two close together. Although don't tell Piper. It's him that moves in close to her. After Piper realizes he's near her if he minds his "p's" and "q's" she'll last a little while next to him. But first hint of him starting to get rowdy and she's gone. Lol!

It's a little reminiscent of these days not too long ago...well in a way it seems almost like forever ago, in another way it seems like it wasn't long ago at all.

Quick Snap Sunday

I have no idea how this caterpillar got here. I did not steal it from my "little brother". The term "little brother" is in quotes because I'm quoting mommie. I'm not sure I really want to claim him yet. When I decide to claim him I'll remove the quotes. He sure does have a lot of toys. He's spoiled and almost rotten! Just kidding...or am I?

Shopping With Landon

Landon says, "Hey who turned out the lights? I suddenly can't see anything. Um, mom, I think it's too big. I'm not sure I need to make this sort of a fashion statement either? I'm more into chasing tennis balls than wearing them on a hat on my head. I mean, how is my crazy hair going to show with this thing?"

Well it was mommie and Landon time this morning. After we got Brad out the door for his first tennis match of the season, Landon and I hit up the nearest Petco. Every time we go in there he is petrified of being in the basket for the first 5 minutes. After that he's good with it. Hopefully soon I'll get him used to it enough that he won't display such fear when he's first put in the basket. Anyway, we controlled ourselves and didn't buy up the entire store. However, I still need to make a trip to Petsmart, I can't get Landon's food at Petco. I can't shop at just one, there's things I like at both stores. I frequent both of them depending on what the fur-babes need. Anyone else have the same issue?

Before I end this post, Landon would like to add...a big Happy National Puppy Day to all pups out there of all ages. May all pups get a few extra moments of being truly spoiled today....oh and everyday! LOL!

Quick Snap Sunday

I had to be super quick getting this pic. Hopefully he never looks at the blog and sees this. LOL! This is what you call "super gamer mode". Super gamer Sunday for Brad! Now let's dive deeper into this pic, he's not wearing green. But then he was trying to convince me his gamer headphones count. So is he planning on wearing his headphones all day? I hope not! What do you think, will the gamer headphones save him from getting pinched today?

By the way, no pinching the fur-babes. Both of them have green eyes. I'm going to let them slide on account of their natural green they "wear" every day. Although I must admit, back when I was in school and classmates with green eyes tried to avoid being pinched it was rather annoying. But anyway, it's more understandable with the fur-babies since they don't wear clothes on a 24/7 basis! So no pinching either furry one today. Can you believe both of our furries have green eyes? That's kind of odd how that happened.

NFL Celebrates Too

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Don't get pinched!

I guess the NFL wanted to make sure they acknowledge the Irish fan base. This is so random. It's not even football season but yet the NFL has new shirts to coordinate with a beer drinking, rainbow chasing holiday. So weird, right?

I saw these pop up on Instagram about a month ago. Brad thinks it's ridiculous. He can not accept seeing his beloved Cowboys in green. I think it's unique. I kind of like seeing the Cardinals in a completely different shade. They also have just the logo on a green shirt no extra décor like these ones above feature. So what do you think?  Yay or nay?

I must admit I'm kind of tempted to get a Cardinal one...they are 25% off as of today and tomorrow wonder if they'll drop further by Tuesday? Anyone dare me to get one? I would choose the more plain version, the green with no extra décor around the logo.

Side Note: The NFL has a line of shirts to celebrate Salute to Veteran's which are in green camouflage so this green isn't that foreign of a concept. However it's still incredibly random for them to do this for such a minor holiday. I now expect shirts in pastels to celebrate Easter.  Just kidding!

It's Saturday!

In Brad's opinion this week was way too long. But Saturday has finally arrived. Any big plans? We will be enjoying the last weekend without tennis for awhile. Oh wait, allow me to rephrase that...I will be enjoying the last weekend without tennis for awhile. LOL! Brad's team tennis commitments begin next weekend. So from the 23rd of March until the end of May our Saturdays revolve around tennis. Even our Friday nights are all about tennis too. As he preps for his match.

Over the years we've gotten the right balance down to an art. I used to get really irritated by the team tennis seasons. I was fine when the season first started then after a few weeks I was ready to get my spouse back on Saturdays. I greatly missed going out to lunch or going to browse at stores or going to a movie, or just simply relaxing around the house with Brad. Those types of things mostly cease during team tennis seasons. It wasn't about the tennis and the "guy time" he had after his matches, it was about me feeling like I was missing out on spending time with my spouse. During the tennis seasons our Saturdays revolve around tennis. However, together we've figured out a better balance so I don't feel so "robbed"(for lack of a better word) of time with my spouse on a Saturday. Without going too deep into it I will say, his "daytime" can be devoted fully to tennis and then hanging out with his friends afterwards if he chooses but as for Saturday evening...it belongs to his wifey! As in wifey's choice! I'm easy on him. I'm pretty good at sensing what to suggest to go do depending on how long he was out with the guys and how well his match went. Wink-wink!

But anyway, as for this weekend...low key with a few little things in mind to go do. The weather is supposed to be quite nice which is extremely great in my opinion. I hope Springtime really has arrived to stay! I think it has...I have high hopes!

Quick Snap Sunday

How do I look? Cute? Handsome? A lovely combo of both? Mommie said I'm cute and handsome. Mommie and me got up early this morning and she did the usual morning chores then decided to trim me up.

I know she's pretty new to this fluffy/furry dog thing but she's handling all my fluff well. She scours the globe for pics of other havanese to compare their haircuts. Then she tries to imitate it on me. I think I look pretty good so I have no complaints. Fun fact about havanese...just so you all learn something today...there is no "breed standard" havanese haircut. Some havanese have straight hair, wavy hair and a small amount have curly hair. The majority have wavy hair! Because of these differences there's no breed standard "haircut". But most pro groomers use the shih tzu haircut on a havanese. So what kind of hair do I have? Can anyone guess from all the pics on this blog of little me?

It's been fun blogging but I'm a puppy with big business to attend to. Like bothering my big sister. She actually got in trouble first thing this morning. She had to sit in timeout while I went out and romped around in the backyard. She's naughty! Catch ya all later!

Is Spring Coming?

Well if you live anywhere near our section of Texas, how did you sleep last night? Did you wake your husband up because the thundering storm that included hail was worrisome to you? No? Okay then it was just me. That hail sounded like golf balls hitting our roof. It probably wasn't that big but it sounded like it was. Clearly we are entering the Springtime/Possible Hail season...aka, tornado season. I am happy to see Spring temps are starting to pop up in the 7-day forecast, more than ready to say goodbye to winter temps. However, hail/tornado season does make for some nervous nights/days.

Speaking of Springtime...time change is tonight. This time change is harder to get used to in my opinion. In the Fall it's an easier transition. Always easier to go backwards and have more time versus having to speed up an hour. I'm curious to see how Landon responds to time change. He is not very schedule oriented except for waking up in the morning. He sees the light from outside peeking through on the sides of the drapes and he's up for the day. However, that seems quite typical, to realize the day is starting and want to get up. He's Cody in the area of schedule...meaning, he doesn't adhere to one.

Anyway, we had a Redbox movie night last night. We watched Instant Family. It was good...decent! More of a serious tone than I expected. A little sad but overall heart-warming and purposeful. I was disappointed it wasn't more funny than it was. Very few funny moments. So don't be fooled it's not exactly a "comedy" despite it being categorized that way. I would recommend it, simply understand it's more heart-warming and purposeful than funny! However, let me add...Grandma Sandy is a hoot! She added some good spice!

Not sure what the plan of our day is today. Brad has tennis at TCU, they have indoor courts so no threat of weather will stop today's tennis. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do while he's gone this afternoon. I generally do not have a problem keeping busy so I'll find something to do. Plus there's always the possibility of some experimental cookie baking!

Rather True

I saw this online just now, first I giggled then I thought how true this is. Actually this occurred late last night in our household. It was a little bit after midnight, Brad was busy playing video games in the living room, while I was getting ready for bed in our bathroom. While I was standing in the bathroom a light bulb went out. A light bulb in the recessed lighting on the ceiling not a bulb over the vanity. Slightly trickier to replace. Now maybe some could just walk away and leave it for the next day but I couldn't. I marched out of our room, down the hallway, and into the laundry room to get a spare bulb and the ladder. Even though Brad was engulfed in his video game world, the vision of me carrying a ladder down the hallway caught his glance. His video game was abruptly put on pause. The light bulb was quickly changed. It was kind of a two person job as it turned out. Too many pieces to hold for a person on a ladder. One person could have managed with a few trips up and down from the ladder.

I would however like to say I differ from the sign with the word "act". I never "act" like I'm going to do something just to get Brad to take note and then take over. No way, that's not me. I'm too independent for that. I "start" then he may take over depending on what the project is of course. In my mind that's an important difference. Truth be told, I get in trouble with Brad a lot for not asking for help more often.

Quick Snap Sunday

When it's early in the morning and your mom is trying to get a snapshot of your bed head. Crazy hair Landon!

When bath time is announced and your cat doesn't question it, she simply goes to get in the tub! What a good girl!

Windowsill Piper

Anyone in Texas that is looking at this today knows it wasn't taken today, our weather is drizzly and cold. Same as yesterday and same as tomorrow. This pic is from Thursday when we briefly got a little sunlight in the late afternoon. Thursday was a deceptive day, the sun came out which led you to believe it had warmed up some, but it was not warm. I applaud you Piper for making the windowsill still work for you, despite some slight pudginess! Bravo!

Thanks to the weather we won't be doing too much during this weekend. Very low-key! We'll likely head up the road from our place to Redbox and then right back home to keep warm. I see a cup of hot cocoa in my future! We actually tried watching the new version of Robin Hood last night, but only made it to about the halfway point when Brad confessed he was bored with the movie. So take that for what it is worth if anyone out there is considering renting the new Robin Hood. Wish us better luck tonight snagging a movie that keeps our interest. ;)

Side Note: It's cold today and tomorrow but my weather app has a thermometer with snowflakes pictured for Monday. NOOO!! Please someone tell me this is the last of winter right?
