Let It Snow ❄️

Bubsy: It was Friday afternoon when mom arrived home and bounced thru the door and immediately said these words…”I’m home now….let it snow!”❄️ It was a treacherous drive home for her and she was the last car police allowed on the big bridge before they closed it. Skip ahead to today…did it snow sissy?

Sissy: Oh it snowed! It started snowing late Friday night and it snowed most of yesterday thru to the wee hours of this morning. So far the snow is sticking around because it’s currently ZERO degrees. I desperately need a plane ticket out of here. 🥶

Bubsy: Not going to happen…the airports are closed.

Sissy: Oh that’s peachy…I’m forced to suffer thru this. 😠

Bubsy: Don’t worry it will be fun. We’ll have a day to snuggle on the couch and watch movies plus football. This is the fun part of snow days. All the craziness has calmed because the snow is keeping people inside now. But back on Thursday and Friday the craziness was turned up high. Winter storms seem to cause chaos even before the snow starts to fall.

Sissy: He’s not overstating things…it has been chaotic and CRAZY!

Bubsy: Preparing for a winter storm seems to throw the humans into a tizzy. The grocery stores get overrun because people are hoarding everything they can think of to hoard. Every parking lot of a grocery store, a Walmart, a Target and any home improvement store looks like it’s the day before Thanksgiving. Packed! Completely packed!

Sissy: Thankfully our mom orders curbside groceries and she put her order in extra early to assure she was going to get her produce.

Bubsy: And get this…the state of Texas ran out of beef! So many people were buying it up just in case, that as of last Thursday the whole state was out of beef.

Sissy: Gives new meaning to the phrase…where’s the beef? 🥩

Bubsy: Mercy! It’ll take at least a month to build up the beef supplies. But the bigger issue is keeping the Texas power grid from freezing. So far we have some outages but the power grid is holding steady. And in other news, we are currently waiting to see if things can improve fast enough for schools to open on Monday or will schools be closed and mom will be home? We shall see. In the meantime we’ll spend some quality time watching movies with mom and football later. Who you got in the games today, sissy?

Sissy: I gotta go with our mom’s preference…she still has a team in the race to the Super Bowl…so I’m on the “dark side”!

Bubsy: I’m with ya…this is one time I have to join you on the dark side! I feel like you are naturally a dark side inhabitant. 😉

Sissy: Perhaps that’s me! 😉 I’m nice when I want to be but I visit the dark side a lot.

Bubsy: You certainly do. Anyway, let’s move onto our Sunday afternoon and go curl up with momma. Everyone stay safe out there. Stay warm and let’s all hope the power grid holds up and doesn’t cause any more dangerous power outages. Below is our frigid pic of the week. ❄️

Pjs All Day

Bubsy: It’s SUNDAY! It’s a perfect day for our parents to be sitting in front of the TV watching football since it’s so cold out it’s not comfortable to go anywhere. So sissy what is going on in your world?

Sissy: Trouble has been finding me more than usual. I got in some extra trouble when I decided to play in the cat’s litter box. What can I say?…it’s freezing outside and I thought if I played in the cat’s indoor sandbox I could channel summertime temps. It didn’t work and I only received a swift reprimand. 😒 Even got reprimanded by daddy. Which was shocking. I have daddy wrapped around my tiny little paw. I have him believing everything I do is super cute. So imagine my surprise when he got pretty mad at me too. 😮

Bubsy: Oh sissy, it is beyond me, how you get into the trouble you get into.

Sissy: Hey not everyone can be as perfect as you. 🙄

Bubsy: Anyway, let’s move on. It’s been quite the week here. Mom is still sick. Instead of getting better she took a turn for the worse and now she’s spending her weekend occupying the couch and positioned within arm length of a box of Kleenex. But before she made a bed on the couch yesterday she managed to attend state required emergency training for teachers. She absolutely refused to cancel and give up her spot then have to wait until next month for another training seminar to be given. So yay for her, she got that done despite being sick.

Sissy: Mercy me, since she came home on Friday I feel like she’s been a mess on our couch. Hopefully at some point today she starts to feel a little better.

Bubsy: We have a big job…we have to get mom on the mend by Tuesday.

Sissy: We can do it.

Bubsy: In other news, the football games yesterday were good. The Broncos game was exciting all the way thru. As for the Seahawks game….49ers luck ran out. But wait….it’s not just about the playoffs right now. The Cardinals and 8 other teams need new head coaches. So who will be the Cards next coach?…any ideas, sissy?

Sissy: I don’t have a clue. I’m a full blooded Texan. I generally only care about all things Texas.

Bubsy: Oh yes, of course sissy. You are all about Texas.

Sissy: That’s right, and don’t forget it. 🤠

Bubsy: I guess we should wrap this up and get going.

Sissy: Back to the couch to help mom feel better.

Bubsy: Everyone out there have a good week…enjoy the bonus day off tomorrow! Below is a rather lowkey bedhead pic for our Sunday. Sissy’s really got the bedhead look going. But since it’s super cold outside and mom is sick, we’re probably staying in our pjs with her all day.

Sissy: Misery likes company and we are the perfect fur babies to keep mom company. 🩵

Football Watching 🏈

Bubsy: Greetings, for it is us on this rather chilly Sunday here. Are you bundled up, sissy?

Sissy: Nope, not bundled up but cozy on my blankie. Man, we were going along just fine. I was appreciative that winter hadn’t showed up for most of December or the first few days of 2026. Then all of a sudden yesterday my world changed when my pretty hair was blown all about in an icy wind. As everyone knows…I don’t handle wind well.

Bubsy: Well at least now it feels like January. 🥶 Let’s move on, what else is going on in our world? Mom is sick with the creeping crud. ☹️

Sissy: Our hot then cold weather has made everyone sick. Mom barely has a voice. She sounds like a stuffed up mouse. 🐭

Bubsy: What a description, sissy. 😆 Moving on again…let’s talk about our evening last evening. It got loud in our house and the Cowboys weren’t even playing. 🏈

Sissy: Yeah, I was confused. Who knew our parents had such strong opinions about the games yesterday?

Bubsy: I was forced to stay up late with mom as she was too into the Bears game to go to bed until it was over. It was a nail biter apparently.

Sissy: At one point during the 4th quarter I had to get up and move to a different location. I was not into all the hooting and hollering for a team that isn’t in Texas. Shame on our parents for cheering so loud for no-Texas teams yesterday.

Bubsy: I’ll bet there will be more cheering for non-Texas teams today. But wait sissy, cheering for a TEXAS team is coming. Get your Texans gear ready. 🤠

Sissy: Oh so what you’re telling me is I might need my earplugs come Monday. Thanks for the heads up. 🙉

Bubsy: I guess we should wrap this up as the Sunday Wild Card games are starting. In our pic below we are remaining neutral with perhaps a little subliminal messaging by wearing Buffalo plaid. Mom dressed us and mom has been waiting for an opportunity to put us in Buffalo plaid. So maybe it’s just coincidence and not subliminal messaging.

Sissy: It’s definitely not subliminal messaging…mom is more into the Jags than the Bills. I think. 🤔

Bubsy: Maybe you’re right sissy. Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Although overall I think mom and dad are just hoping for good competitive games since their teams missed the playoffs. Anyway, have a good week! We gotta get to the game watching! 🏈

Hello 2026! 👋

Bubsy: Well hello there, 2026…nice to meet you!

Sissy: Is it?…is it really nice to meet 2026?

Bubsy: Sure sissy, why wouldn’t it be? A new year full of new experiences just waiting for us.

Sissy: Well if these “new experiences“ includes these unseasonably warm January days I’m onboard. This weather has been surreal. But I’m fine with it, I’ll happily take temperatures in the high 60’s as opposed to the low 30’s.

Bubsy: It’s been awhile since we posted. We were busy enjoying Christmas and family time. Our grandma came for a visit. I completely liked grandma being here. She let me occupy her lap anytime I wanted.

Sissy: Of course, you liked having grandma here. You are a kiss up.

Bubsy: I’m not a kiss up. Although I do get a lot of kisses. What can I say…I’m a lovable guy and the ladies love me! 🥰 Well all except for you. But I’m okay with that. You love me down deep in your hollow little heart.❤️

Sissy: Oh my word, all this love talk is too much. Just like mom going around yesterday decorating our house for Valentine’s Day. Christmas and New Year’s barely wrapped up and our house has moved onto Valentine’s Day.

Bubsy: Of course, sissy, after all it’s the next occasion.

Sissy: Yeah, but the Luv Pug has returned to our living room and will be singing his tunes for an entire 6 weeks. That’s a bit much!

Bubsy: I like the Luv Pug…he’s fun and he sings in tune.🎵 I’m sure at some point soon our mom will have us in a photo shoot with the Luv Pug but until then, I’ll tell everyone out there about him. The Luv Pug is a stuffed pug that sings, he’s dressed like Cupid with wings. He’s like a Luv Pug singing Cupid.💘 And he’s fun…especially fun for mom since she is a former pug mommie.

Sissy: Oh please, he needs to go. Havanese rule this house now! 👑

Bubsy: Speaking of needing to go. We should wrap this up and get on with our day. Mom and dad have church and then the Cowboys play. Play the sad violin music since the Cowboys will not make the playoffs…AGAIN! ☹️ But anyway, hope everyone out there has a great first full week of this new year! Happy 2026…once again! 🎆 Below is an additional pic to go along with the last game of the regular season. Pardon sissy for already screaming at the refs in the pic. 📣🏈
