Crazy Weather

Bubsy: Well friends, it’s been a ruff weekend for us.  Dad gave us a new treat for snack time on Friday night and BOTH of us spent Saturday sick as dogs….pun intended.๐Ÿคข

Sissy: Obviously, momma has banned those treats. No more dad going rogue and buying treats for us that mom doesn’t pick out.๐Ÿ˜‰ Those were our first and last “Dream Bones”.

Bubsy: Those bones were not what dreams are made of. Now let’s talk about mom’s crazy week. She was so looking forward to splitting up her classroom as her school is getting bigger and needs to relieve her of some kiddos and add another classroom. But then Thursday happened.

Sissy: Yep, Thursday wasn’t good to her. All of a sudden she was informed a child she sent home sick the day before has tested positive for a highly contagious illness.

Bubsy: By the time late Thursday afternoon arrived she was sending another kid home that had similar symptoms.

Sissy: On Friday she went to work not sure how many kids would be in school for the day. Only two kids showed up. Should’ve been an easy day but it was kind of hard, since there was sooo much disinfecting of the classroom that still needed to be done. In light of the illnesses and the anticipated trickling back in of kids in her classroom this week, her school decided to delay opening another classroom on her level. ๐Ÿ˜•

Bubsy: Her Friday was also complicated by the crazy threatening weather she drove to work in. Switching gears…it’s been raining a lot. We’ve had rain all weekend long. And Sissy, how long have we been under an active tornado watch? ๐ŸŒช️

Sissy: Day number three of an active tornado watch. This mess started on Friday just as mom left for work. Things didn’t look or sound so good last night. Mom and dad basically slept in shifts in case a tornado got close to us.

Bubsy: And Sissy has the Texas power grid been holding up during the latest round of bad weather?

Sissy: Bro, it is not bad weather that causes the power grid to fail. It doesn’t help but the dumb power grid even fails when it’s perfect weather. To answer your question…nope, the lights have been off and on.

Bubsy: At least they’ve only been off briefly.

Sissy: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you visit Texas…bring a flashlight.๐Ÿ”ฆ

Bubsy: Such good advice, sissy. Time to wrap this up and go watch the Mavs, the 4th quarter is about to start. They have come back from an unbelievable deficit.

Sissy: Might be a nerve wracking 4th quarter to watch, I’ll watch like this….๐Ÿซฃ

Bubsy: Everyone have a lovely week. The pic below was taken at the conclusion of our morning walk, we look like drowned rats. There was a tiny break in the weather, between storms and our crazy mom got us out for a quick walk before she went to church.

Super Loud

Bubsy: Are we here, did we make it thru Saturday?

Sissy: Barely!

Bubsy: Saturday was full of one storm after another. Nothing quite like a booming Texas springtime storm. Not just rain….thunder was booming and lightening was also all around. ๐ŸŒง️ It was a super loud Saturday. The thunder shook the house, literally.

Sissy: The rain isn’t the worst of it…it turned cold again. AGAIN! Can someone remind me what month it is?

Bubsy: I think Mother Nature needs the reminder…it’s April and May is on its way. Yet we were still put in our sweaters to walk this morning. But in mid-July we will be complaining about the opposite issue of it being too hot.๐Ÿฅต So what else is going on around here, sissy?

Sissy: Tomorrow is Earth day. Mom has been busy collecting items like sticks and rocks for her Earth day projects in her classroom.

Bubsy: What else happened this week?….you almost needed a lawyer as you found yourself in hot water trying to prove your innocence.

Sissy: I have no idea what you are talking about. Innocent until proven guilty. And unless DNA testing can be done I have a great chance of getting out of this one.

Bubsy: Despite the DNA testing, momma knew you were the guilty one. I had a great alibi and our cat-sister was asleep at the time. And your reaction to momma’s interrogation told the whole story.

Sissy: Oh geez, I did kind of fold with her questioning. ๐Ÿคจ

Bubsy: Here’s what happened, dad went into a room but didn’t realize sissy followed him. She then got left in the dark and she peed on the floor. She was likely scared and in distress from being left in the room without light or anyone else with her but still mom and dad were not pleased she peed on the floor. Dad was especially not pleased. He came down on sissy pretty hard. Mom was more understanding. But mom understands us puppers better.

Sissy: All was forgiven and I felt bad. But I got freaked out I was going to be left in the dark forever. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Bubsy: Aww, poor sissy. She’s clearly scared of the dark and all other things…๐Ÿ˜‰…like shadows…she hates shadows.

Sissy: True, I do. I’ve been known to get a little freaked out when I see a shadow. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ…on that note time to get back to watching the Mavs in the playoffs, so we have to end this post. Below is our Earth day inspired pic for the week. Gotta love how I’m leaning on my big bro in the pic.๐Ÿ˜‰

Completely Dark

Bubsy: What a week it was last week. Where should we start, sissy? Let’s rewind and talk about last Monday.

Sissy: It was a crazy week. And that eclipse Monday was quite the day. I think it lived up to the hype.

Bubsy: It definitely lived up to the hype. So I’ll explain what happened with the eclipse.

Sissy: No, let me cut to chase…it got dark….real dark. Like I couldn’t see my paw in front of my face.

Bubsy: It looked like it was getting overcast at first glance then it started to get dark. That all started just after lunchtime, around 1:00. By the time 1:45 arrived it was completely dark outside. Mom was watching it all slowly happen from her classroom windows.

Sissy: It was afternoon yet it was completely dark out.

Bubsy: The moon moved in front of the sun and completely blocked it. Mom took some pics which will be posted at the very bottom of this blog post. Changing gears somewhat, what else went on this week? Let’s talk about the failed power.

Sissy: Don’t get me started.

Bubsy: So mom was on her way to work. There were lights on the streets and stoplights were working. All of a sudden mom is heading up the big bridge when she looked to the right and saw no lights. Looked to the left and no lights. Came off the bridge and no lights anywhere in front of her.

Sissy: Everything was dark!! No signs were on. Chick-fil-a sign was dark. Kroger was dark. All stoplights were dark. Even the gas stations were dark.

Bubsy: The power grid failed. It was a sudden blackout.

Sissy: The power grid failed again. The state of Texas went dark. Honestly people, how does this keep happening? They have spent a zillion dollars “fixing” the power grid for a year now. And yet, things are still going dark. We’re the biggest state in the country yet we can’t figure out how to keep the lights turned on. If you visit here bring a flashlight. I’m going to spend all my piggy bank money on more flashlights.๐Ÿ”ฆ

Bubsy: At least being without power and no air isn’t too bad right now.

Sissy: Oh geez, don’t remind me…summer is coming. Come on people, get it together. I’m definitely going to need them to get it figured out before late July. Sweating with all this long hair is not pretty. ๐Ÿฅต

Bubsy: Poor sissy, it’ll be alright sis. They’ll figure it out soon….maybe. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Well let’s wrap this up and go spend time with mom. She’s had a busy day. Mom went to two church services at two different churches. As she was invited to a baptism which she went to. So she got up early to go to the earliest service at her church then she went to the church where the baptism was. Dad stayed home. And even tried to talk mom out of going to the baptism.

Sissy: Mom works at a private church preschool. This is most likely the first of many baptisms she’s going to be invited to. So I’m thinking dad needs to get used to it.๐Ÿ˜‰

Bubsy: Anyway, time for us to officially end this and go spend time with momma since she was so late getting home from the second church she went to today. We also need to go so we can finish our taxes, as you can see in the pic below….just kidding…we finished figuring everything. We are excellent tax preparers. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great week everyone!

We’re Ready

Bubsy: We got our provisions….thank you to the chewy delivery and we have our sunnies on a day early. I’m ready for tomorrow. Are you ready for tomorrow sissy? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Sissy: Yes, let’s get this ridiculous few hours over with. Then life in our neck of the woods can return to normal. And all these people can go home!

Bubsy: The solar eclipse is tomorrow, as if we need to remind you.๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s all anyone is talking about around here. We are in the direct path of “totality”. Everywhere you look there is a reminder of the eclipse from “eclipse cupcakes” and “eclipse donuts” in bakeries to “eclipse glasses” near cash registers at literally any place you go to.

Sissy: Biggest reminder is the traffic.

Bubsy: You are so right. Because we are in the best spot of “totality” people have flocked to our area. Not a hotel room available in the city. Restaurants are overrun with people too. Then you have the crazies in the world that think there will be some type of apocalypse tomorrow so they are out at grocery stores emptying shelves as they stockpile their provisions. It’s nuts here. The hoomans have flipped their lids. ๐Ÿคฏ

Sissy: Lots of schools are even closed tomorrow. Because they don’t want school traffic to add to the chaos on the streets of people trying to get a look at this eclipse. The school our momma works at is a private school so they had a choice to close or not. They had a meeting and decided to stay open but they did eliminate recess in the afternoon.

Bubsy: Even though mom will be at work tomorrow when all this eclipse stuff occurs. Our “recess” time in the backyard was eliminated by mom.

Sissy: That’s only if dad actually abides by momma’s rule for tomorrow. We’re puppers, we are smarter than hoomans…we know better than to look directly at the sun tomorrow. I’m not stupid, I’m not looking. I don’t need a burned retina. ๐Ÿ‘️

Bubsy: We will wear our sunnies tomorrow if we go out between the hours of 1:00 and 3:15-ish.๐Ÿ˜Ž What else is going on around here, sissy?

Sissy: We had company last night. Our aunt and uncle came over and stayed until the wee hours of the morning. And biggest news of all…I let Uncle Rob touch me.

Bubsy: Good job, sissy. You are improving or maybe you are finally getting used to them. Which geez…it’s taking you long enough. ๐Ÿ™„ Well friends, it’s time to end this and go join our parents for a relaxing Sunday evening. Hope you all have an opportunity to enjoy the eclipse that’s got everyone in such a frenzy. ๐ŸŒ–☀️ Remember to not look directly at the sun tomorrow afternoon without sunnies on.๐Ÿ˜Ž Below are our pre-eclipse pics(notice how I looked at the sun in the second pic. I’m practicing for tomorrow.)๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great week everyone. ๐Ÿพ
