Son's Day

Today is National Son's Day. So by all means...let me post a pic of my "son". This is it, this is the closest I'm ever getting to a son and let me tell you I'm 100% great with that. I don't have to worry about this son ever telling me he hates me or telling me I ruined his life. I don't have to worry about his college or his future career. I don't have to kill him when he comes home with a tattoo or earring. I don't have to hide my eye rolls when he dates someone I don't approve of. I don't have to worry about him doing drugs or underage drinking. So yeah, perfectly happy with the furry son we have!!

Landon is 100% joy! He is easygoing. He is a snuggle bug. He is playful and energetic. He is intelligent. He's a kissy little dude too. He is happy...the happiest dog I've ever met. He is an all around good boy! I feel like we got really lucky getting him!

Quick Snap Sunday

This is me laughing!! Haha dad! As soon as you left mom took my Cowboys jersey off of me and put a bandana on me. I'm a bandana wearing boy today instead of a jersey wearing boy. Happy Fall y'all! It's just mom and us furkids today watching football. Dad ditched us to go watch football with his family. And no mom was not and still is not a happy camper about it. That's why I'm not wearing a Cowboys jersey anymore. I think we are secretly cheering for Seattle now. LOL!

Here's my hashtags and some tips for dad too...

#nojerseyformetoday #dadsintrouble #baddecisiondad #dadssleepingonthecouchtonight #dadstopforflowersbeforecominghome #bandanaboy #scoredthisbandanafrommyfuriendpocoonthegram

Side Note...dad tried to take me with him when he was leaving...yikes he got quite the look and finger wag from mom...along with the very stern warning from mom..."Don't you dare touch my baby!" Scary...but a funny kind of scary! If you know what I mean!

Let's Go Boxing

Landon's thoughts: "mom, you want to go boxing? I'm an expert little boxer. Wanna go 12 rounds? I'm ready for 12 rounds!"

I truly believe those were the thoughts running thru his head last night! Oh mercy me! Well here is something I learned about him last night...he hates pills! We switched from topical solution to pills for his heartworm prevention. I'm not sure that was a good idea after experiencing last night. I mean...what in the fluff? How can such a small dog put up such a fight?

Believe me he is an expert at boxing. He has all the moves...the bob and weave...a right jab...a left jab...upper cuts. He's got it all. I'm only slightly exaggerating. But seriously I felt like I had gone 12 rounds by the time I was done getting that darn pill in him. I tried everything I could think of. I mean I'm not a new pet parent by any means...but absolutely nothing worked with him. This is how it went...put it in, he'd spit it out then bob and weave then I'd put it back in his mouth and he'd spit it out while giving me a few jabs with his paws. It brought back memories of how Simon used to act when I tried to trim his nails!

So next month...if I give it to him next month...I'm not in favor of overmedicating my baby and giving him something year round that he does not need. Vets just want your money so they tell you to do it year round. Anyway, if I give it to him next month I will crush it up and sprinkle it over his food. But knowing him he'll likely turn down his dinner. We'll see that's my plan at this point. Depends on our weather though, if it's turned colder and mosquitoes have gone away I won't bother with it.

Quick Snap Sunday

Have I ever told you all how wonderful my mom is at photography. Um hello...mom...I'm down here and move to your left. See what I have to deal with. It's a wonder I'm as popular as I am on Instagram with this type of a photographer. Look at all the sidewalk showing in the pic...beautiful sidewalk isn't it?

While I blog, mom is folding laundry and dad is burning the house down. I can't believe mom ever lets him near the stove. He's trying to make himself some type of treat. It's an experiment of his. An experiment mom said sounded gross. I'm not much of a sous chef so he's on his own. I have to blog with you all, I can't do everything around here. What's Piper doing, you ask, sleeping! She's nocturnal. She'll wake up around 11:00. Ready for my hashtags...

Landon Goes Boujee

Boujee...I'm so boujee! Today is #boujeeboytribe day on Instagram, the 3rd Wednesday each month! This is how my stylist dressed me. Classy but not trashy. Fancy but not too fancy! Did she nail the look? This is my 2nd month joining in on the Boujee Boy Tribe. Boujee is a popular slang term in Australia, meaning fancy and classy with a little edgy thrown in. The Boujee Boy Tribe on Instagram was also started by some Aussie dogs. Now dogs from all over participate. Last month the girls on Instagram complained so they added a Boujee Babe Tribe this month. Cue my mom rolling her eyes. I think mom believes girl dogs get enough attention let the boy dogs have at least one day each month to flaunt their style! Time for my hashtags....

His First Feature

Something big happened today. Something exciting happened today. What was it you ask? Landon got his first feature on Instagram. Can you believe it? I was so shocked! I was so happy and excited too.

What is a feature you ask? There are accounts/sites dedicated to different breeds of dogs and they "feature" their fave dog of the day each day of the week every week. It's a big honor to be seen on their site. It's great that my little dude caught their eye and they wanted to feature him on their site.

I'm not trying to make Landon a superstar or anything but I want to further his Instagram account as much as I can within reason. My main thing is to have fun sharing my little pride and joy with everyone that cares to spend anytime at all looking at Landon's site on Instagram. My hope is for people to see his pic and smile. Spreading smiles is what Landon is all about. He is the happiest and biggest smiler you will ever meet.

If anyone out there has Instagram please go check out my little dude on the site he scored a feature from which is @havaneseoftheworld

Long Weekend Arrives

September arrived, already 5 days in. Believe me, I'm happy to see September because it means it will start to cool down. This past week for us was filled with rain. I was delighted at the change in the weather. This weekend the temperature has warmed a little but not bad. We actually are expecting more rain tonight. My little dude is laying next to me as I type this. Oh man, how I love my little dude. Back on task after that side note!

I'm watching college football. Yes, there's college football. I thought the entire season was canceled. I now realize it's only a few conferences that canceled or postponed their seasons. Sorry but by canceling or postponing those schools are only hurting their college athletes. Some of these guys have dreams of going to the NFL but if they can't play their NFL stock is going to be lower. If they elect to come back and play in college longer, then their NFL career will be shorter as they spent an extra year in college. Think about it...it's not a good thing not having the season at all. Athletes careers are rather short. Really wish people on the west coast could get it together. The PAC 12 would be going if the dumb governor of California wasn't preventing sports. Yeah, you read that right...I said "dumb" governor of California...not afraid to say it. Don't like him at all. Too concerned about his own political gain and his celebrity status...on a side note his hair bugs me too. Bugs me more than Trump's oddly enough.

So between college football and the U.S. Open tennis we have plenty to watch. Which is good! Brother-in-law and sister-in-law are coming over in a little while. Game night...Brad wants to play Jenga. I think we'll play video games too. Can't spend the whole evening playing Jenga. It's just not exciting enough...but hey that's just my opinion.
