Birthday Note
Of course it's not just Landon celebrating today. Somehow today I came across a list of celebrities celebrating birthdays today too. Landon shares his bday with...
Mick Jagger, Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, Jason Statham, Kate Beckinsale, Jeremy Piven, Chris Harrison, Dorothy Hamill, Delonte West. So one well known singer. Quite a few actors/actresses along with one TV host. And the last two are sports stars, completely different sports and decades. There's actually quite a few more but these were the most noteworthy...in my opinion.
And yes, in case anyone was wondering Landon's moves are like Jagger. LOL! Depending on what type of music you listen to, you either thought that was slightly cute/funny or you are lost? Personally I thought it was kind of funny and clever. Oh and it's true he moves like Jagger! Maybe even better than Jagger.

Quick Snap Sunday
His version of "on tap"! LOL! This is part of the morning ritual, drinking from the tap early in the morning. Yes, he's up on the bathroom counter. I'm not sure how this morning ritual started but apparently it will continue.
Reminds me of Storm. Storm loved drinking out of the tap. She would jump up on any counter then wait and wait and wait until someone came to turn on the faucet. If she heard or saw you getting close to the faucet she was waiting at she'd give out a loud meow. As if to say, "get over here and turn this on for me, I've been waiting forever." LOL!

3:45 AM
There I was asleep in bed, nice and cozy when all of a sudden things got loud. It was like a jet, a plane, or maybe a helicopter hovering above our house. After being jarred awake by this noise I looked over at Brad's side of the bed and it was clear he still hadn't come to bed for the night. I struggled to focus my eyes as I got out of bed to check on this ridiculously loud noise. I walk out of our bedroom and immediately call for Brad. The lights in both of the spare rooms were on. He calls me into one of the spare rooms. I walk in and I kid you not this is what I see...my husband standing on a chair with his gun on the bookshelf next to him and binoculars in his hands as he craned his neck to look out the very top corner of the window. Upon seeing this sight I couldn't help but giggle as I immediately questioned why he had a gun and binoculars? Yes, I skipped over asking what the noise was to ask about two other things. He was so into reporting about the noise he skipped over answering my questions. The noise was from a hovering helicopter.
According to Brad a helicopter was hovering over the field across the way from us and it appeared to be delivering supplies. He says it had a basket of stuff it was carrying. I know what you are thinking...at 3:45 AM supplies are being delivered. I'm still questioning that too! I guess that's what you get when you live adjacent to a farm road. This helicopter delivery likely woke up the whole neighborhood. I don't know how anyone could've been sleeping through that noise? It was so loud, believe me it was LOUD.
Well folks I used to think I was likely the more nosey one in this marriage. But after last night, I'm not so sure? I think Brad might be more nosey than I? If he hadn't already been checking out the noise by the time I got up. All I would have done was look out the window to see it was a helicopter then went back to bed. I would not have watched it for the entirety like he did with binoculars. I also would not have thought to get the gun nearby. But keeping a gun close is just Brad!
Back when we lived in apartments he would construct an obstacle course before going to bed at night. His obstacle course was designed to slow down an intruder and give himself extra time to get his gun ready. The only times the obstacle course wasn't constructed was when we had company. Oh and he stopped doing it when Cody went blind. I do not miss the obstacle course to deal with every morning when I get up!
Late this morning when Brad finally got up for the day he was quick to inform me he needs a telescope. I asked why? He believes he would've been able to see even more last night if he had a telescope instead of just binoculars. I reminded him, telescopes are for seeing the stars, the moon and planets, not spying on a helicopter delivering supplies. LOL!

Flashback Friday
One week from today this little rascal will be enjoying his very first birthday! The months have flown by. I can't believe his birthday is upon us. He shall dine on cake next Friday!
It is crazy to think about we were saying goodbye to Cody and somewhere else in our city this little joyful nugget was gracing the world with his presence. What a perfect gift this little guy has been. I've never seen Brad so head over heels for a fur baby. And of course everyone knows I'm crazy obsessed over this little dude too. He's awesome!

Time To Brag
I've never done a post to brag, so this is a first. But it's a must. Today Brad and I went to a family funeral. We were gone all day. We left around 10:30 and got home about 7:40 after spending the late afternoon with family after the funeral. Our little dude held his potty time that entire time. Can you believe it? We didn't originally plan on being away as long as we were, based on us being away for so long I completely planned on cleaning up a mess. I wasn't too worried about having to clean up a mess since Landon was sectioned off in a hallway. But nope, no mess!
I'm so proud of my little dude. It's not just about what he did today, he's such a good boy in all aspects. We got very lucky to get this little dude. You never know when you first get a puppy. Will the puppy be a good one or one that's constantly challenging it's human parents? Lucky for us we got Landon, clearly the pick of the litter! He's a special little boy!

Quick Snap Sunday
When you are a cat you live for a chin rub! Especially when that chin rub comes from your human dad. Her human mom is more about rubbing the top of her head and her puffy cheeks. She accepts both!
Look at her eyes glowing. Not sure whether to be mesmerized or freaked out? Her eyes always glow like this when I take a picture of her with the flash on. Anyway is the weekend over? Grr!
It was actually a 3 day weekend for Brad but something about it made it zoom by too fast for us. I think I know what it was that made it go by so fast....one word....Wimbledon. We got up ridiculously early the last 3 mornings trying to catch as much tennis action as possible live from London. By the time this morning came I was especially tired. While watching the match in our big overstuffed chair I apparently got too cozy and comfy with my little dude curled up next to me and actually fell asleep during the men's final. Djokovic and Federer facing off at Wimbledon and I fall asleep in the chair. Unbelievable! What's more unbelievable is that my husband didn't wake me up. I did watch the majority of the match but missed some important parts. I was so annoyed with myself for falling asleep.
Mentioning sleep, it's getting near my bedtime around here. First up I need to make my rounds and do the nightly chores. Then play with Landon a little and then head to bed. Goodnight folks!

The Cousin Pic
Lots of families have these traditional type pics that get taken now and again. Brad's family has this traditional pic they like to reenact involving the cousins. On Brad's birthday this past Saturday they felt the need to do a cousins pic. They always make sure they reenact the same poses and positions every time. Yes, we did get a few serious poses, but the pic below is still my favorite! You know how difficult it always is to get kids to pose and smile at the same time and not be goofing off for a brief moment while the pic is snapped...well, as you can see from the pic below not much has changed...age and maturity are highly overrated! Am I right? LOL!

Double Quick Snap Sunday
I knew the lottery scratch-offs would be a good idea! Here's the birthday boy the morning after his big party sitting at the table scratching off his lottery scratch-offs. We aren't big time lottery playing people but we do like the scratch-offs every once in awhile. As a bonus gift Brad scored one scratch-off for each year he's been on this earth!;)
While his human daddy is working on his scratch-offs Landon's is working on some extra zzz's. Today we have one exhausted little boy. He didn't even wake me up this morning...I had to get him out of his bed. I guess that's what happens when a pup-pup is going and going until about 2:45 AM. He did his best to last as long as the party lasted. At 2:45 AM he turned into a ragdoll that was carried to bed at 3:00AM.
p.s. to my mom, do you recognize the toy he has next to him? You sent it to him. :)

Flashback Friday
Somebody in this pic is celebrating an important birthday tomorrow. As for the other somebody in this pic, he's celebrating his first bday at the end of this month. Both the guys in our household are now July birthday peeps! Oh my word, pinch me, is Landon really almost a year old? Where did the time go? Seems like just a few weeks ago Brad surprised me with him.
Brad was supposed to be off today but got called into work. I'm still sitting here waiting for him to get home for the evening. Anyway, I spent the day doing additional party prep and decorating. I hope it's a fun day and evening tomorrow. I've spent a lot of time trying to plan out a good birthday for him. So hopefully all goes well!
