Quick Snap Sunday

Rainy mornings usually means a little static clean for yours truly! Some of my beard hair and ears are having some minor issues. Mom assures me I'm still cute even with static cling. By the way, this is my "sleepy-oh brother I got static cling" look.

Anyone else organizing their day around the Cowboys game? My house is! Although nothing new with that. I haven't decided which Cowboys jersey I will be sporting for the last game of the season. Probably my blue one. I think the Cowboys will be in blue too. The new blue jerseys the Cowboys got at the start of the season have bothered my dad greatly. According to him, and he is an excellent source since he's a diehard born and raised Cowboys fan, the Cowboys wear white at home. But this season they have been mixing it up some and alternating with blue jerseys. So we'll see, will they be in white or blue for the last game of the season? Side note: my dad only mentions this blue jersey issue since they have yet to win in them. LOL!

The Looks

The look you give your mom, when she wants to try your new Fair Isle sweater on you when it's 70° outside. Really mom? Can't this wait until a day when I actually need a sweater? I'm melting, I'm about to start panting. My mom is a little obsessed with Fair Isle stuff. The Peterson side of her family is from Sweden, Fair Isle is popular in Scandinavia, so I've been told. Hence mom's attraction to Fair Isle patterns. For those that are unaware, Fair Isle is a popular style of knitting for sweaters. Now don't say you never learned anything from a dog if you didn't already know that.

Only because I have a good mommy, I decided to soften my glare and give her a nice look while wearing my new Fair Isle sweater. I guess because she was so overly excited to find a Fair Isle patterned sweater for my furriness. Now that I humored her with this sweet expression, hopefully she'll take this thing off me. We're still having a "heat wave" in December. I need a speedo and sunscreen not a sweater!

A Little More From Our Christmas

We're currently watching some of the NBA double header this fine Christmas evening. It's a little before dinnertime for us. I'll serve up the meal soon. Has everyone in Texas enjoyed this unseasonably warm Christmas week so far? This might be a record for warmest Christmases I've experienced here in Texas. Who would've thought it would be 70°? No sweater or sweatshirt for me. I teased my father-in-law last night at Christmas Eve that he was dressed for a summer barbecue in his shorts and short sleeve t-shirt. LOL!

Enough about the weather we are debating what Christmas movie to watch tonight. Will we turn to our movie library or Netflix? We've found some good ones on Netflix this year. For some reason I kind of want to watch Arthur Christmas? I guess I'm in the mood for an animated movie.

To end this post I'll finish with a few more Christmas pics from our little family of humans and furbabies. The pic in the middle is perhaps becoming a new tradition...the annual Landon and his daddy Christmas pic. I got a great pic of the two of them last year too.

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!

We celebrated Christmas Eve at my in-laws house last night and today will be spent relaxing at home. We open our gifts on Christmas day. So today includes opening gifts, watching at least 1 Christmas movie(maybe 2), and of course playing with the "kids" and their new toys. Also as most know, I like traditions especially food traditions, so what's for dinner?....my traditional "red and green" meal with pie for dessert.  May anyone reading this enjoy time with family and a wonderful Christmas day!

A message from Landon...I went out early this morning to look for reindeer tracks. I'm not sure I saw any? Not sure exactly what I was supposed to be looking for either? I don't know if reindeers with a guy in a big red suit and a beard longer than mine stuffed my stocking and left me gifts or just my parents but no matter what I'm going to enjoy opening me some presents!

Quick Snap Sunday

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, it's 2 days before Christmas Eve and I'm busy making candy today. So all I have to say....Simon would be proud. Every time I look in our pantry and realize even though Simon is not here we still have an abundance of peanut butter. Peanut butter is still stocked as if two peanut butter loving pugs occupied our home in the physical sense. Here's to you sweet Simmie as you watch over us from the rainbow bridge.

P.S. this is actually the amount of pb after one jar was used up for peanut butter truffles.

Quick Snap Sunday

Today is our anniversary, above you see the flowers Brad gave me. He actually gave them to me late last night. He went out shopping last night. Looking for a copper gift was rather difficult and confusing to him.

Poor guy went out two different times yesterday trying to find something to meet the copper criteria and not be a waste of a gift. I tried telling him my copper gift for him isn't stupendous but it is useful at least. That's the kicker, trying to participate with the yearly gift theme but not get something useless. Brad still has to get his gift bag together so the bag in the pic is actually his gift from me. I know, what you are thinking...it's not very manly looking. And I agree, I don't like that there's such few options for "manly" looking gift bags in the anniversary department. It may slightly look pink in the pic...I promise...absolutely promise it's not pink. It's kind of a creamy color, the lighting makes it look weird.

Anyway, relaxing day watching some football and then we have reservations to go out later. Should be fun. We're going to the restaurant he took me to for our first date. :)

Sidekickin' It

I'm mom's favorite sidekick! This was me this afternoon out with mom. I go places people...I go places. Okay, so my list of places isn't too long but it's long enough. I even have a "furiend" named Tess at one of the places I go, she's a dachshund. She's just my furiend...don't get it twisted folks. I'm not looking for a girlfriend! I'm too young! Mom says I'll always be too young for a girlfriend.

I'll catch ya all later, I got to go play with dad and then watch Elf On The Shelf.

Christmastime and Anniversary Time

Christmas season is in full swing. I'm almost done with our Christmas shopping. I do a large percentage online nowadays. It gives me added joy to watch for items I ordered to arrive. I guess I'm like Brad's granny...granny loves getting packages in the mail.

Our anniversary is tomorrow, so my Christmas shopping was put on slight pause to instead go shopping for Brad's anniversary gift. This is the copper anniversary for us. I got this folks...I'm a Zonie, AZ is the copper state! Even the snakes in AZ have copperheads. Lol! Problem is I'm not in AZ, I don't have access to those touristy copper stores in local malls or downtown Scottsdale. Still I think Brad will like the copper gift I got him. Oh and as a bonus I was able to find something else for Brad that happened to come in the color of copper. Lol! As for our Christmas shopping, we're almost done. On Monday I plan on finishing up shopping for Brad and then we have a few other gifts to get. Hope to be done with buying Christmas gifts by the middle of this week.

Who is the hardest person on your list to shop for? I could say but I probably shouldn't say on a public blog. LOL! I can say one of our fur-babe's is kind of hard to buy for. I'll let you guess as to which one I'm referring to.

Quick Snap Sunday

After having two pugs and one of those pugs being a Simon a sight like above is still somewhat new to me and somewhat astonishing. Landon is not a finisher! He gets rawhides to a certain point then he's done with them. Soon I realize he's never going back to them and throw them away. The two rawhides above were stick rawhides.

I think Landon gets this from his dad. Father like "fur-baby son"...LOL! I'm sure hardly anyone out there knows this except for me. But Brad is terrible...I mean TERRIBLE at finishing certain food items: chips, soda, cereal, and candy. Of all those items he consumes about 2/3 maybe 3/4 of the total package then it gets tossed. For example, a 2-liter of Dr. Pepper he'll drink 2/3 of it then dump the rest of the 2-liter. According to Brad the flavors of those items changes too much towards the bottom. He drives me crazy sometimes with the amount of food items he wastes. If his parents only knew! Because believe me this is a BRAD thing, his parents did not teach him this.

On a completely different note, is the weather great or what today? I wore a light coat while out walking my little dude this morning and no coat to go to the grocery store after the long walk. I'm starting to think November and December got flip-flopped. Because November had some no joke chilly-willy days. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 75°...doubt I'll need a coat at all for the morning walk. I did look ahead this week and Tuesday will be mildly chilly but then the temp goes back up and stays rather steady for the week.  I have zero weather complaints...oh heck, even Cody would have zero weather complaints. Landon never has weather complaints...he's super versatile.

Crash Equals Pieces

There we were tucked into bed, at least 3 of the 4 of us were tucked in bed. There was one member of our fam that was not tucked in bed. That one member was roaming the house while we slept. It was about 3:00 AM when a crash was heard through the house. My eyes immediately popped open. Brad's eyes did not. He mumbled and grumbled and quickly rolled over. I was not settled once I heard that crash. I had to go see what occurred and make sure my fur-baby was alright.

As I made my way out of our bedroom and down the hall, there stood Piper near the Christmas tree. I breathed a sigh of relief to see she appeared fine and the tree was still standing. Although if it had fallen over I would've expected a bigger crash. Anyway I soon spot the item that made the crash and is now in pieces. One of our best ornaments is no more. It was annihilated by the cat-daughter.

One might assume when we put our Christmas tree up the younger pet would be more likely to wreck havoc on Christmas ornaments. After all the younger pet is in his pre-teen stage, his adolescent/teenager rebellion is coming. LOL!  Heck, even his daddy assumed we'd have issues with him. I however, assumed we would have zero issues with the little dude and continue to have issues with Piper. Every year Piper has climbed the tree, knocked ornaments off, or ripped paper on wrapped gifts under the tree. Overall she's rather mild. Or at least that's what I've been told by Brad. Brad says Storm was much worse with Christmas trees and ornaments. He says in Storm's early years he'd practically have to redecorate the tree almost every night when he got home from work as she had spent the day knocking the ornaments off. Thankfully Piper's not that bad. We definitely have to watch her close though. Cats are interesting too. Because there's little fear in them. They'll start doing stuff they aren't supposed to do while you are looking. As if they are enticing you to get mad at them. A dog would wait until it's left alone to mess with stuff. Am I right?

So we aren't even a full week into December and we are already down one of our best ornaments. Let's try to leave the Christmas destruction at just that one ornament, alright Piper? Hopefully she's in agreement!

Quick Snap Sunday

Things are beginning to look a lot more Christmasy around here, including me. I'm not sure what this is? An elf collar? A Christmasy court jester's collar? Or just something to annoy me with? These bells on this thing is bringing back memories of when I used to have to wear a cat collar because mom couldn't find puppy collars. Please mom, you got your pic now take this off of me...my ears are ringing thanks to these bells on this thing.
