So Fresh

Bubsy: Back to back weekends we have gotten baths. Yesterday we got haircuts then baths. We are so fresh and so clean.

Sissy: Your hair is so short now, you are screwed if the weather throws us a curve ball.

Bubsy: Nah, I’ll be fine. So let’s see…what has been going on in our world? 🤔

Sissy: The boys in the house have been feeling wimpy. By the way, how are you feeling, bro?

Bubsy: Oh geez, dad was sick all day yesterday then in the middle of the night I got sick. I have yet to be able to hold any food down today.

Sissy: This stinks for me too. Because mom hasn’t fed me much since she can’t feed you anything. I may waste away.

Bubsy: Pardon sissy’s dramatic chit chat. So February is on the horizon, dear sissy. You know what that means?

Sissy: Crappy weather most likely is what it means. It’s mom’s most dreaded month of the year. Due to the high chance of ice storms. 🥶

Bubsy: It’s also Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day soon, mom definitely likes those two occasions. They are on back to back days this year. How exciting is that. We’ll eat King’s cake on Mardi Gras(aka Fat Tuesday) then keep the party going and have yummy treats for Valentine’s Day.

Sissy: According to mom the stores have Mardi Gras decorations and food available.

Bubsy: Sign me up for a slice of King’s cake. For those that aren’t aware, a thing called King’s cake is eaten on Mardi Gras. There’s a little plastic baby hidden in the cake. Whomever finds the baby in the cake can enjoy a great year with some extra good luck.

Sissy: Mom got a jump on things and dressed us in Mardi Gras bandanas for today’s pic. You can count on us being in Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day stuff in the weeks to come.👍 Let’s wrap this up so my big bro can rest some since he’s not feeling well. Have a good day everyone! 🐾

Round Two

Bubsy: I guess Mother Nature thought last weekend was so fun that she’d give us another weekend with another winter storm.

Sissy: I’m unimpressed.

Bubsy: At least it’s not as cold as last weekend. It’s still very cold I could easily freeze my coconuts off if I stayed outside too long.

Sissy: Your coconuts?

Bubsy: Yes, my coconuts. I need to keep my coconuts. Are you ready for the snow tonight? ❄️

Sissy: As long as I’m warm and cozy in the house in my flannel pj’s it can snow all night for all I care. It’s mom that was freaking out about the timing of the next round of snow fall. Since snow should start dropping just before the time mom takes us outside for our last business run before bed.

Bubsy: The schedule will get moved up tonight. Let me think…what else is going on around here? Oh, we had a campout last night in the living room. It was so much fun. I love camping out in our living room. ⛺️

Sissy: Dad got the blow up bed out and set it up. I was not that trusting of the machine he used to blow the mattress up with. That machine looked suspicious. But the cozy mattress and sharing a sleeping bag with mom was working for me. 👍

Bubsy: And despite the cold weather outside we had to endure a bath yesterday. But that was fine by me, because after the bath we got new toys. Valentine themed toys.❤️

Sissy: I shocked mom when I actually tried out the new toys. Usually I’m not into new toys.

Bubsy: They are fun superhero heart toys. We’ve been busy watching football and lots of Australian Open coverage too. My oh my, who would’ve predicted the Lions and Bucs would be playing today while the Cowboys sit at home. 🙄

Sissy: Very confusing who to cheer for with the teams that are left.

Bubsy: I agree with that. I think our household is cheering the most for the teams that haven’t been deep into the playoffs in many years.

Sissy: Hope everyone has a good week. We gotta get back to helping mom with some chores before the next football game comes on.

Bubsy: Below is our pj’s all day pic. Wearing our pj’s all day on a Sunday when it’s super cold outside is our favorite thing. Have a beautiful week!

Cozy Days

Bubsy: Are you ready, sissy?

Sissy: No! I’m currently checking for flights outta here.

Bubsy: You’re stuck! Airport is closed. It’s like a ghost town outside. The Arctic Blast that is hitting many parts of the country has started to arrive here. But Monday and Tuesday will be worse than today.

Sissy: Say what? Worse? How could it get any worse. I can’t feel my paws the second I walk outside. I thought I’d lost each paw after being out for only two minutes.

Bubsy: Good thing you got that long hair, sissy. You’d really be cold without it.

Sissy: It’s miserable conditions even with my long hair.

Bubsy: Will the power grid hold up?…that’s the question on every Texans mind right now.

Sissy: It better. I got my paws crossed.

Bubsy: The state spent tons of money making improvements to it last summer to get ready for this winter so it certainly better hold up. Mom is thankfully home tomorrow. And we will wait to see if the schools are closed come Tuesday too.

Sissy: Mom was rather irritated Friday night because of the competition the stores cause among the general public. Kroger closed its distribution centers three days before the storm is expected to hit. Which means only what is on the shelves was being sold on Friday and all weekend.

Bubsy: Which means since Friday there has been utter chaos at grocery stores as people compete to get food and other supplies. And if there’s no distribution centers open then nothing is going to get restocked any time soon. We are facing a week or two weeks of empty store shelves.

Sissy: Let me correct you, bro. The humans are facing about two weeks of empty store shelves. Our Chewy delivery arrived this past Friday. Three days before the storm! Woohoo! We got plenty of food.

Bubsy: You are so right sissy! We are good! Our parents are good too. Mom keeps our house pretty well stocked. But she gets annoyed with the chaos at stores and the empty shelves for weeks as it takes them time to get caught up when they make the decision to close their distribution centers.

Sissy: Hopefully, it’s not too bad and moves on by quickly. It better because I want to feel my paws again when I go outside. 🐾

Bubsy: At least we got football this afternoon and tonight to keep us occupied. Today and tomorrow will be cozy days watching football and movies. 🏈🍿 If you are in an area that is suffering through the arctic blast, stay warm and stay safe! Have a warm rest of your weekend! ❄️

Hello 2024

Bubsy: Hello in 2024. Finally, we have some time to catch up on the blog. How was your first week of the new year, sissy?

Sissy: It was a pretty decent week. A week of adjustments for us.

Bubsy: Things changed for our momma which means things changed for us. Mom’s new schedule started and now she goes to work before the roosters in the neighborhood crow.

Sissy: Best part of mom’s new schedule….we get breakfast sooner. And mom gets home sooner.

Bubsy: Seems like we get more quality time with mom now. So what else is going on in your world, sissy….didn’t you get a big adventure out and about recently?

Sissy: It wasn’t a pleasant adventure. I had to go to the vet again. It wasn’t a great visit and I’ll have to go again this coming Friday. 😏 After my vet visit I did get to go to the store with momma, so that part was a bit fun.

Bubsy: Lucky you!

Sissy: Well get an anal gland problem and then maybe you’ll be lucky enough to go to the store after your vet appointment. 😉

Bubsy: Thanks but no thanks. There’s big football ahead of us today. Our parents are happy to see there’s double the coverage here in Texas. Double the amount of games being shown means dad is ordering double pizzas. 🍕

Sissy: Great, enough for us! 😉

Bubsy: Only in our dreams is there ever enough pizza for us. Football today and football tomorrow, as it’s national championship day. Texas unfortunately didn’t quite make it. ☹️ But the parents will still be watching. And if you notice in our pic today, we are representing a certain team’s color.

Sissy: No clue, why we are representing for that team. Strange to me!

Bubsy: Just go with it, sissy! Momma used to live and work in the area of where one of the national championship teams is located. So we are representing for them. But overall, we are quite neutral.

Sissy: I’m completely neutral. It was against my will I was dressed in that team’s colors.

Bubsy: Yep, against her will and she let mom know about it. Brand new year, same ol’ sassy little sissy. I’m clueless as to what she was doing in the photo shoot today. She’s partly crazy. Anyway, everyone out there enjoy this first Sunday of 2024 and have a great week. We’ll leave you all with today’s pic below, me posing perfectly and sissy messing up the pic.🙄 I put up with a lot, folks. A LOT!
