Cozy Days

Bubsy: Are you ready, sissy?

Sissy: No! I’m currently checking for flights outta here.

Bubsy: You’re stuck! Airport is closed. It’s like a ghost town outside. The Arctic Blast that is hitting many parts of the country has started to arrive here. But Monday and Tuesday will be worse than today.

Sissy: Say what? Worse? How could it get any worse. I can’t feel my paws the second I walk outside. I thought I’d lost each paw after being out for only two minutes.

Bubsy: Good thing you got that long hair, sissy. You’d really be cold without it.

Sissy: It’s miserable conditions even with my long hair.

Bubsy: Will the power grid hold up?…that’s the question on every Texans mind right now.

Sissy: It better. I got my paws crossed.

Bubsy: The state spent tons of money making improvements to it last summer to get ready for this winter so it certainly better hold up. Mom is thankfully home tomorrow. And we will wait to see if the schools are closed come Tuesday too.

Sissy: Mom was rather irritated Friday night because of the competition the stores cause among the general public. Kroger closed its distribution centers three days before the storm is expected to hit. Which means only what is on the shelves was being sold on Friday and all weekend.

Bubsy: Which means since Friday there has been utter chaos at grocery stores as people compete to get food and other supplies. And if there’s no distribution centers open then nothing is going to get restocked any time soon. We are facing a week or two weeks of empty store shelves.

Sissy: Let me correct you, bro. The humans are facing about two weeks of empty store shelves. Our Chewy delivery arrived this past Friday. Three days before the storm! Woohoo! We got plenty of food.

Bubsy: You are so right sissy! We are good! Our parents are good too. Mom keeps our house pretty well stocked. But she gets annoyed with the chaos at stores and the empty shelves for weeks as it takes them time to get caught up when they make the decision to close their distribution centers.

Sissy: Hopefully, it’s not too bad and moves on by quickly. It better because I want to feel my paws again when I go outside. 🐾

Bubsy: At least we got football this afternoon and tonight to keep us occupied. Today and tomorrow will be cozy days watching football and movies. 🏈🍿 If you are in an area that is suffering through the arctic blast, stay warm and stay safe! Have a warm rest of your weekend! ❄️
