Low-key Week

Bubsy: Greetings everyone, it’s been a low-key week. Our mom is recovering from surgery. So we’ve spent the week next to her. 

Sissy: It’s been a lazy week. Although I’m not opposed to a lazy week. Especially, since we’ve had another rainy week it’s been quite nice mom has been unable to make me go for a walk in the rain. Rumor has it we have one more full week without being walked. 

Bubsy: At least one more week, maybe two. We have to wait to see how fast mom can bounce back.

Sissy: Two weeks sounds even better to me.😊

Bubsy: Well you need to do your part and start being better about doing your business in the backyard. Stop frustrating momma. 

Sissy: Not listening…🙉….But on a side note, at the beginning of the week I steered clear of mom every time she got up because she was as unsteady as a drunk monkey. And she hadn’t even been drinking.🐒 

Bubsy: We’ve had a lot of little extra rules this week. It’s a full time job trying to not injure mom. She’s very delicate. 😬

Sissy: As we’ve been keeping mom company during this downtime we’ve been watching a lot of movies and old TV shows. So far I’ve really been into the remake of Aladdin. The flying carpet was the best part.

Bubsy: I tend to agree with you on that. We need to get a flying carpet.😉 The other big news of the week, is of course the NFL Draft which mom and dad have been glued to. Has it lived up to the hype?

Sissy: Not if you are related to Deion Sanders. 🤣

Bubsy: It’s been quite the disappointment if you are related to Cowboys legend Deion. 

Sissy: Mom’s team, the Cardinals have spent all their meaningful draft picks rebuilding their defense. So if you are in AZ…plan on watching some low scoring games. 

Bubsy: They have to keep the opposing team from scoring because they don’t have a high scoring quarterback. 😆

Sissy: The Cowboys have the same exact problem. Although the Dak situation is likely even worse. He plays for the opposing team more than he does the Cowboys. 🙄 

Bubsy: When he does play, right sissy. Seems like he’s on the bench more than he is in the game. 

Sissy: You said it…not me! 😉🤪

Bubsy: Perhaps we should wrap this up and go watch another movie with mom. 

Sissy: You watch the movie. I’ll try to steal some popcorn. 🍿 

Bubsy: Have a good weekend everyone! We decided to spoil you all with some pics from our Easter. We actually got our Easter basket a little late since mom was busy having surgery. But it didn’t matter to us. In typical fashion we keep competing over the small disc balls. Mom can’t buy us enough disc balls, they are our all time FAVORITE toys.😉🥚 Oh, and two bonus videos, one of me speeding to get my disc ball and one of sissy trying to get her disc ball out of our water bowl. 💦 🤣

Sissy: Have a fun time celebrating everyone! Good luck finding eggs. We’ve done well! 🥚🐰✝️ 

Happy Almost Easter!

Bubsy: Good evening, it’s the night before Easter….not to be confused with the popular story of The Night Before Christmas. 😉 We are posting tonight so Easter Day can be 100% focused on the festivities.

Sissy: We are getting ready for our all night stakeout of the Easter bunny. Bro, do you know which bunny we are looking for? There’s lots of bunnies in our neighborhood roaming around. Which one of them is bringing my Easter basket?🐰

Bubsy: It’s a different kind of bunny, sissy. The bunnies in our neighborhood are not…The Easter Bunny. All the bunnies in our neighborhood just dig in mom’s plants and eat apples she puts out for them. 

Sissy: The neighborhood bunnies are all violators. 

Bubsy: Pardon my sissy, she’s not a big fan of bunnies. One time while we were out walking with mom, sissy got freaked out by a bunny then wiggled her way away from mom and ran home. 🙄

Sissy: Bunnies have shifty eyes. And their movements are way too sudden for my liking. 

Bubsy: I hope the Easter Bunny checked the weather report. Because he needs rain gear.☔️

Sissy: He needs weighted rain gear so he doesn’t blow away. I mean, this wind lately is ridiculous! It’s loud, it’s taking down tree limbs, and it’s blowing so much stuff around that it’s literally like a game of dodgeball just to pee outside. Mercy! I’m trying to squat to take care of business but I risk being walloped in the head with a random item floating thru the air. 🤕 Don’t even get me started on all the wetness falling from the skies. ⛈️ 

Bubsy: It is a bit of a danger outside these days. Let’s get back to the main topic: Easter! What do you think will be in our Easter basket?

Sissy: Something fun! And maybe something tasty. 

Bubsy: I bet I can find more eggs than you during the egg hunt. 

Sissy: That’s a bad bet for me to take. Because I have mom trained to find eggs for me and she’s not very good at it. 🙈 

Bubsy: You need to try finding some yourself. 🥚 

Sissy: Nope, my feet are too precious for walking all over the yard to find eggs. No thanks! And I can guarantee I’ll be no where near this egg hunt because you’ll need to hunt for eggs by canoe with all the wetness in our backyard. 🛶 

Bubsy: Sissy exaggerates. It’s quite wet but I don’t need a canoe. I’ll just get muddy to find eggs. I don’t mind. And I know mom is delighted every time she has to clean my muddy paws and belly. 🤣

Sissy: And after that silly comment it’s time to wrap this up so we can finish getting ready for our all-nighter to see the Easter Bunny. 🐰 

Bubsy: May you all enjoy a beautiful Easter whether it’s a wet and soggy one or a bright and sunny one. And may you all reflect on the true meaning of Easter. Sorry bunnies…Easter is for Jesus not bunnies. ✝️ Happy Easter!

Dance Party

Bubsy: Good afternoon, for it is that time of the week again….time to say hello to our blog readers. It’s Palm Sunday! 🌴

Sissy: Yes, it is. I’m waiting for someone to fan me with a long palm frond. 🌴 

Bubsy: I think you can keep waiting for that. By the way, how has the weather been, has it been more pleasing to you this week?

Sissy: Oh my….YES! Finally, Spring has returned to us. I think it might stay this time. Please Mother Nature stop teasing us. 🛑 

Bubsy: I agree, I’m ready for Spring to stick around. I’m also ready for a visit from the Easter bunny. Hope we get some good stuff in our Easter basket.🐰🧺

Sissy: I can hardly wait! I’m hoping for an Easter cookie. 🍪 

Bubsy: So what else went on in your world this past week, sissy?

Sissy: I became a professional dancer.💃 

Bubsy: Wow, I’m impressed.🕺 

Sissy: Dad was no where to be found on Friday. So mom had the music cranked up and we had a dance party. Well, I danced, mom did nothing but sing along in her completely tone deaf manner. 🎶 💃 

Bubsy: I danced too. Overall though, I’m a little too cool for dancing. I prefer to just throw on my sunnies and bop my head along with the beat. However, I especially liked the song mom chose for you….”Sweet But Psycho”….fits you well. Especially the line…”she’ll make you curse but she’s still a blessing”…😁 and the line…”people say run don’t walk away”…both of those lines are you in a nutshell. 🤣

Sissy: You know what, I’m not even going to deny it. I am quite the blessing to this little family. 😇 

Bubsy: We had fun with just mom. She had a jam packed week of medical appointments. She deserved to sit on the floor and dance with us. 

Sissy: We work hard entertaining her. 😉 

Bubsy: I think it’s time to wrap this up and go watch a matinee movie with mom and dad. 

Sissy: Bubsy has a new favorite movie…Dumbo. 🐘 

Bubsy: Yep, I loved watching Dumbo with mom last Sunday. Yes, I really do WATCH movies. 🎥 

Sissy: Anyway, let’s end this with our Palm Sunday pic. Notice our palms. 🌴

Big Score!

Bubsy: And just like that….we blinked four times and it’s April and it’s the day after the Final Four was played right here in….where sissy?🏀

Sissy: TEXAS!!!! Texas, y’all….believe me I have quite the southern draw. 🤠 

Bubsy: And who is playing in the National Championship tomorrow night? 🏀

Sissy: HOUSTON! 🙌

Bubsy: Mom and I tried to go to bed at normal time but we were awakened for the last little bit of the game. Way to go Cougars, down went Duke! Cougars beat blue devils! 😆 So what else is happening in our world?

Sissy: Biggest news is mom is crazy! But we kind of already knew that didn’t we?

Bubsy: Nah, I don’t think mom’s crazy. Well, maybe the good kind of crazy. She’s crazy about us.

Sissy: Even crazier than our momma is the weather. What is going on? April arrived and brought back winter with it. And I am not pleased! It was freezing yesterday and today is just as frigid! With a big time windchill. 🥶 

Bubsy: What’s worse, sissy, the icy winds or the icy rain? ☔️ 

Sissy: It’s all bad! It’s been miserable. I’m to the point that I carry around my blankie, I even tried to carry it outside but mom stopped me.🤨

Bubsy: That isn’t a joke…she really has been carrying her blankie around.😊 What else should we talk about?

Sissy: Let’s revisit the subject of our crazy momma. So dad wasn’t home on Friday. Mom went to get the groceries. Pulled into the parking lot of the store, parked, then realized as she was trying to check in on the store app to pick up her curbside order….she was at the WRONG store. 😆

Bubsy: The store she needed to go to was in the complete opposite direction. Mom is still not supposed to be driving so this extra venture to the correct store was really complicating things for her. But she made it to the correct store. Checked in and picked up the groceries. When she got home she quickly realized half of her grocery order was missing. But half of someone else’s grocery order was given to her. Mom called the store and boy, did they make it up to her regarding this big time mistake.

Sissy: Mom scored big time! 

Bubsy: The store told her to keep the groceries that didn’t belong in her order. The store also sent her an e-gift card to use on her next grocery order. Mom scored BIG! 

Sissy: Should we mention that the items put into mom’s order that were not hers….were mostly bulk items. Our fridge is stuffed! Which is a good thing if Mother Nature decides we haven’t had enough with this freezing rain and decides to dump some snow on us. We got food for a month if we get snowed in. ❄️ 

Bubsy: It is not going to snow, sissy. It’s April! 

Sissy: It may be April but we are 6 days into this month and I have yet to see a non wintery day.🥶 I have yet to see the sun. ☀️ 

Bubsy: Don’t worry sissy, we will thaw out this week and Spring will return. What we’ve experienced the last 6 days is extremely rare for April…according to the weather app.😉 

Sissy: I can hardly wait because this freezing rainy is not for me. Or momma! She’s complaining about it almost as much as me. Mom had patience with it until yesterday then she was done with this return of winter. ❄️ 

Bubsy: Well sissy, let’s put a wrap on this blog for the day and go catch some zzzz’s before our walk. Wishing everybody out there a great week!😊….oh and go Houston! Gotta cheer for our fellow Texans tomorrow night. Sissy, remember to wear a red bow in your hair tomorrow!
