Was it just me or was this a long week? I'm looking forward to the weekend. Playing some games and watching movies. Overall just relaxing with Brad and the "kids". Not having to hear an alarm clock go off for two days in a row is the best part. Does anyone else ever get the urge to do bodily harm to the alarm clock? Please tell me I'm not the only one that hates the sound of an alarm clock?
So February is coming to a close...I say good riddance. February is the most dreaded month of the year since moving to Texas. I blame my AZ upbringing on it. February is quite a bit nicer in Phx then Texas. It's the only month I'm somewhat jealous of Zonies. But I shouldn't complain too much, it was a rather mild wintery February for us. It featured some cold days but not a ton.
I discovered earlier this week my cat-daughter is eating my basil plant. We've had some days where it's been too cold for it to be outside so it's been inside in the windowsill. I soon realized Piper was snacking on it. She's fine, the basil agreed with her. I wonder who she got this bad habit of eating my basil plant from? Um, Simon! Simon used to eat my basil plant and tomato plant. We had to keep them both up high or he'd do a number on both. Simmie, oh Simmie!
To close, no big plans for the weekend. Just relaxing and enjoying the company of my hubs, snuggles with my little dude, and the fact that Piper allows me in her presence. Lol! Anyone else have big plans?

The Dudes
My two dudes....big dude and little dude. Does it look like Landon has his mouth open to talk? He was giving us his opinion of things.

This Day...
On this day many years ago I became a pug owner. Cody was first up! Simon soon followed but for 4 months it was just Cody and his mommy. Not only was he my first pug but he was my first dog on my own. He was also my rebellion. I know some won't understand that, let me explain. As a kid my mom only allowed girl dogs in our household. She seemed to HATE, despise little boy dogs. She could never muster up a single good word about a boy dog. Once I became an adult out on my own, my "rebellion" when I wanted a dog was for it to be a boy. I was completely determined to get a little boy and show my mom boy dog's aren't all bad. And boy(pun intended), did I show her, because soon there were 2 little boys that she was forced to realize weren't so bad after all. Believe me, loving Simon was a pleasure for her. Simon was her favorite. Not to say Cody wasn't loved by her too, but Simon completely convinced her boy dogs are easy to love too. However, that being said, her natural preference in her household is still for girl dogs. But at least she can now appreciate little boys too.
As for me, my natural preference after Cody has forever been changed. Comparing my experiences as a kid having girl dogs and later on as an adult having boy dogs, I confess I love boy dogs more! I am absolutely convinced little boys love their mommas more! I think it's almost a fact, not just with dogs! Think about it...do football players on the sideline wave at the camera and say "hi dad, love you"? Nope, it's always, "hi mom, love you". It's just a different kind of love and admiration that boys in general seem to demonstrate for their mommas.
I describe it like this, boy dogs have little hearts in their eyes every time they look at their mommas. Whereas girl dogs are more like, you are lucky to have me and lucky that I let you love wonderful little me. Which is exactly how Piper is. In her mind we are the lucky ones to have her to love. She's not walking around with hearts in her eyes for me or for her daddy. Aside from the way that boy dogs seem to love. I would also say boy dogs are easier to train. Think about that one too....police, military, and competitive agility sport dogs are almost always male!!!!!
Anyway, here's to Cody on this day...being my first dog on my own, my first pug, and my first little boy. If it hadn't gone so well loving him then Simon and now Landon would not exist in my world. So thanks Cody for being such a gem! Below is baby Cody, before Simon came along. Those are bunny ears in his mouth, pic was taken at Easter time years and years ago.

Crazies!
Brad just now left to go play some tennis. The new tennis season will be starting soon so he's preparing by getting in the groove of Saturday tennis. As he was leaving he handed Landon an old tennis ball from his tennis bag. It was old to Landon's daddy but it's new to him and he is loving it!
I was sick this week. I was a little under the weather some weeks back, but it was one of those situations where I felt it coming on and was able to fight back quickly. Luckily never considering myself actually "sick". Well this week that wasn't the case, I was "sick" this time. Spent 2 days being a couch potato. Started to slowly feel better late in the day on Thursday.
Now let's get to a couple stories. First up I'll admit I'm a dork. Oh man, am I a dork. First step is admitting it, right? Here's what I did yesterday...I went out to do our grocery shopping. Emerging from the house after avoiding going anywhere for a few days. Once I arrived home and got out of the car I glanced over my parking job. I thought it was a little crooked and I needed to pull up more in the garage to allow room for the cargo door to go up. I sat my purse down then hopped back in the driver side. I straightened the car up then got out of it again and walked to the back to open the cargo door, that's when I noticed my purse was in a weird position. It was a little flat on one side. Yes folks, I ran into my purse while trying to straighten up my parking job. I didn't completely run it over, I just hit it a little. Broke some lipstick tubes, turned a sample package of dog treats into crumbs, and bent some gift cards. At least my drivers license and payment cards are all fine. Like I said I just ran into it, I didn't completely run it over. No I didn't notice I was hitting anything. Our SUV is rather big with big tires, since I didn't completely run over the purse I didn't notice I was hitting anything. Anyway, a couple of gift cards and reward cards suffered most of the bent up damage. Yes I feel like an idiot. I couldn't believe I backed up that far that I hit my purse. In retrospect I should have placed it off to the side. I wasn't planning on backing up much at all though.
Oh but I'm not the only dork in the household. This morning Brad got up and fixed himself his first cup of coffee. When he went back to fix himself a second cup of coffee, he suddenly had a problem. He came into the bedroom where I was to ask if I took his coffeemate. I laughed, since I don't use coffeemate. He asks me if I hid it from him. Now does that sound like something I would do? Sweet innocent wonderful me....hide something silly from my husband? Never! If you believe that line you don't know me well. But in this instance I was innocent. Completely innocent. As we walked down the hallways and headed towards the kitchen to continue looking for his coffeemate, I casually reminded him since he got up for the day I've been in our room showering and getting ready, I haven't been in the kitchen. Meanwhile, he's getting more and more annoyed as we look for his coffeemate that has seemingly disappeared into thin air. The man needs his coffee! I ask if he threw it away thinking it was empty. He says it's not empty and declares himself not that CRAZY to throw a container of coffeemate away if it's not empty. We checked the pantry and the fridge, in case he did something that "crazy" to put it away. Typically his coffeemate occupies a permanent spot next to the coffeepot, it's never in the pantry. Finally after a few more minutes of both of us looking, I begin opening cupboard doors, starting with the cupboard that has our coffee mugs in it. Brad quickly exclaims, "I wouldn't put it in the cupboard, I'm really not that crazy". I then proceeded to open the next nearby cupboard, the one that has all our drinking glasses in it. Ding-ding-ding...we have a winner...the coffeemate was in the cupboard with the drinking glasses. Next thing Brad says, "Oh I remember now, I was getting a juice glass. Guess I sat it in there when I got a juice glass."
All I have to say at this point is, these poor furbabies have two crazies taking care of them. I would however like to blame my crazy-dork moment on still being somewhat sick and a little foggy...I've had a lot of cold medicine this week. That's my excuse. As to Brad's excuse....I don't know? I don't think he can be granted one. Sorry honey!

Quick Snap Sunday
Just a little girl on a mission. Not sure what that mission is? Not sure if I can still even use the adjective "little" to describe her? This however is a favorable angle to her. She does look kind of small-ish. She was in the process of turning around quick to see what little brother was doing when I snapped this photo.
Rain finally subsided in time for the long weekend. This past week was rather chilly and rainy. Lots of rain. It appears though this upcoming week should be quite nice with some sunny days and only a brief day of rain once this week.
Just before this pic was taken Piper had lunged at Landon wrapping her "arms" around his neck while biting him on the neck. No clue what provoked her? I think she tries to "play" with him in a rough manner but doesn't realize she can't hold him down and bite him. The most amazing part of Landon might be that I have yet to see him mad. He never gets mad. I'm still waiting to see what makes him mad. Still waiting to see what temperature makes him cold too.

Happy Valentine's Day
Look who fit in the Valentine's day bag! Who's cuter...Snoopy?...Woodstock?...Me? You said me, right? If you didn't say me then my mom might not ever talk to you again. I'm the only answer when it comes to cuteness in my mom's opinion.
Dad took the day off today. He's making it a 4 day weekend! He said it's a mini-vacay. I'm going to act like I know what that is. I think my parents talked about a Valentine's day lunch date, since they aren't too into dealing with the crowded restaurants at dinner time on this romantic holiday. Mom is huge into basketball so she likely wants to watch NBA All-Star weekend stuff later tonight, so I think my dad has it pretty easy. I don't think I'm invited to their lunch date. Boo to them, their loss.
Now let's move on to more important stuff, if anyone needs a Valentine today I'm available...I think? Anyone that wants to be my Valentine has to be approved by my mom. Hate to say it, but she's not lenient. Good luck, I am a seriously great little dude! I'm a cute, sweet as can be, fun, high energy, snuggle bug. Any takers?

Quick Snap Sunday
Why? Why is there football on my TV screen? The Super Bowl was last week. Don't we deserve to have a teeny tiny break from football? It was a long NFL season and now I have to deal with the XFL. Oh geez!
Here's the worst part too...the XFL had half of their games yesterday on Saturday and the other half today. Which means my husband hasn't moved from the couch this weekend. Mind you, we just had an NFL season in which my husband didn't move from the couch every Sunday. I love football too. Believe me, I do. But this is a little much. I would prefer a break between the NFL season and the XFL season, moving from one to the other with no time between is not making this wifey very happy.

Super Bowl Wrap-Up
It was a great Super Bowl in my opinion, our household was mainly for the Chiefs. Brad doesn't want to see San Francisco get anymore Super Bowl's. I have my own separate beefs about San Fran, mainly having to do with being a Cards fan. Anyway, our household was for the Chiefs. The game was great. I especially enjoyed the 4th quarter.
Zero complaints about the game. There were no touchdown dances, did anyone notice that? I think the stage of the Super Bowl likely overwhelms players and they are more focused as a team. Perhaps it's a good thing there weren't any touchdown dances. However, that being said there was dancing at the Super Bowl. Oh mercy that halftime show was uncomfortable to watch. I'm not sure if I've felt "uncomfortable" watching a Super Bowl halftime before? Somebody please inform me why?...why?...when female performers are given such an honor as performing at the Super Bowl does it have to become all about sex/sexuality? Why? The messages sent to little girls and women everywhere last night was that grabbing yourself, bending over to show off your "assets", dressing like a hooker, and swinging around a stripper pole are things for women to do, forget about showcasing talent. How are we to empower young girls if that's the message being sent by female performers? That halftime show was not about talent. It was not about the years of hard work and dedication it's taken for J. Lo and Shakira to get to where they are at. It was all about displaying how "sexy" and desirable they are. Shakira did not even sing...she was lip-syncing. Such an opportunity to show true talent, true vocal abilities along with nice APPROPRIATE dancing. Well respected dancing can be done. We need to change our opinion of what is "sexy" and how it is shown. That performance did not affirm women or empower women in any way. Disappointing to say the least. To use my husband's words, "trashy" and "classless".
I am not a parent to a human child but let me tell you if I was, my kids would have been taken out of the room during that halftime show. It was not appropriate for children to see, not family friendly...in my opinion. We actually joked about covering Landon's eyes! Brad even playfully did cover his eyes at one point. As I already stated...disappointing that two more female performers missed a big opportunity to showcase their talent instead of only showcasing their "assets".
Side Story...After watching a few minutes of Shakira performing my father-in-law joked, posing the question of, "what is next? Are they going to have strippers?". About 3 minutes after he joked about that J. Lo was swinging around a stripper pole and two other ladies did the same on each side of her. I guess he accurately predicted how the show was going.
