The Search and Schooling

Bubs: It was a soggy start to our Sunday morning. Not only was the rain causing mom to be annoyed but she could not find her keys to take us out for a walk. She stormed all through the house and looked in the car and no keys were found. She didn't want to wake up dad so she grabbed the spare key and attached it to a mini flashlight so she could walk us. No clue why she felt the need to attach it to a mini flashlight. Our mom doesn't always make sense.

Cupcake: I know why!

Bubs: Oh Cupcake, by all means inform us...

Cupcake: Because she wanted it to be on something she could hold on to as she walked. Apparently, she doesn't know what pockets are for. LOL!

Bubs: Apparently!...so away we went. Then skip ahead to the time for mom and dad to leave for church and once again both of these crazy parents of ours are in a tizzy trying to find the keys to the car.

Cupcake: Oh brother! These parents of ours....I'm telling you it's a wonder they can function most days.

Bubs: Anyway, they went off to church in dad's car since the keys to mom's car were still missing. After they arrived home a big search for the keys was under way AGAIN. Mom found them. Whew! So what else has been going on, sissy?

Cupcake: Mom completed her first week at her new job and I think she is very happy she made the switch to a new place. So far so good, we hope this week goes just as well as last week for her.

Bubs: Oh sissy, speaking of school...how was school yesterday for you?

Cupcake: As some may have heard, I'm back in school. Just a mini session. I think I have 3 more weeks to go. This week was fine. I practiced running with mom and stopping abruptly. I also practiced my "stop command". You know though, I hated the treats. Good thing mom is smart enough to bring treats from home because the treats at puppy school are not enticing to me.😝

Bubs: I remember those treats. They weren't enticing to me either. Mom brought a bag of treats for me when I was in puppy school too. Maybe there's something wrong with us that we are not into most dog treats.😜

Cupcake: I have a highly sophisticated palate.

Bubs: You are highly sophisticated in other ways too, sissy-Cupcake. Hope everyone has a good new week, paws and puppy kisses! 🐢

The Excursion

Bubs:  Hello, little sissy, nice to see you are still alive and in one piece for this week's blog session.

Cupcake: Yep, avoided being murdered yet again.

Bubs: Do you want to tell the story or should I?

Cupcake: You can tell it. But I will be here to oversee the accuracy of the details. So no embellishing, bro.

Bubs: No need to embellish, it was all scary enough. Your life flashed before mom's eyes and your life flashed before my eyes too. Now getting to the story. It was Friday evening, mom had just gotten home from work and leashed us up to go for a walk. Since the time change last month it stays light longer and we can get in a short walk on Friday nights with momma. So there we were out on the walk. We were at about the halfway point of the evening walk, when little ol' me was desperately searching for just the right spot...if you know what I mean. πŸ˜‰ Well someway somehow mom dropped Skylar's leash. She never in a million years thought she needed to be extra fast to get a hold of Skylar's leash again. But apparently speed was a factor. Because at the same moment mom dropped Skylar's leash, Skylar spotted a bunny. She wasn't interested in the bunny....because she is afraid of almost everything. So she decided to take off running. Mom yelled to her to stop. Mom ran after her practically dragging me along. Mom ran. And mom ran. There was no catching up to Skylar. Mom said a quick prayer to herself that Skylar would stop or at least be protected. Mom kept saying over and over again, "please Lord, just protect my baby girl". Mom and I continued to run, mom was desperately trying to keep Skylar in sight while praying for her safety. Then at one point mom thought Skylar had slowed down so we sped up more to get to her. But then a big dog in his yard barked and Skylar sped up again. The hope of catching up to Cupcake was once again gone. The best part was Skylar was at least running in the direction of home. Mom hoped she knew where she was going.  We continued to run towards Cupcake and tried hard to keep her in our sight. She crossed a few streets and managed to run all the way home. As mom and I came down the street towards our house we could see Cupcake standing at the front door. After mom and I crossed the street to get to the side of the road where our house is, mom gave Skylar a command. Skylar turned around and ran towards mom. When she got to mom she literally leaped with all her little might into mom's arms. The relief mom felt was overwhelming. She shed a few tears on Skylar's head as she kissed her about a billion times. Whew! Sissy was lucky! So lucky she knew the way home. So lucky no one backed out of their driveway and hit her. So lucky she managed to safely cross the streets she needed to to get home. Sissy-Cupcake, how'd I do at telling the story?

Cupcake: It's 100% accurate. If it hadn't been for that bunny that looked at me weird and then that big dog barking at me from his yard, I would have stopped sooner. But I was terrified.

Bubs: You terrified mom and I too. Next time, trust that mom will pick up your leash and protect you from the bunny all at the same time. Mom can do both...I know she can. But you know what your little excursion earned you?

Cupcake: No, what?

Bubs: A 3 week mini session of more training. Mom called our trainer yesterday to set it up.

Cupcake: Oh geez, the punishment is real. Well I guess I'll just look at it as momma and me bonding time. It wasn't so bad back when I was in puppy school.

Bubs: Hopefully, you learned a lot the other day and this will never happen again. You might not be as lucky next time.

Cupcake: Yes. And it didn't make me feel very good to see how scared and upset momma was at the time. I need to relax more and not be scared of bunnies, birds, and other dogs.

Bubs: It's not easy. But remember you always got me to protect you little sissy.

Cupcake: I know, big bro! Paws and kisses to all! 🐢

Mom Has No Shame

Bubs: So guess what happened today, sissy?

Cupcake: What? But I’m not sure I care.

Bubs: Mom and dad went to a new church. They tried the church last weekend and this was their second time going, this beautiful Easter Sunday.

Cupcake: This story needs to get better fast, because I have things to do.

Bubs: Okay, hang in there sissy. So mom from afar thought she recognized this man that was the door greeter at the church. Apparently, she got up closer and suddenly realized the door greeter at this church is our doctor. Yep, our vet goes to the church mom and dad are trying out.

Cupcake: I’m not a fan of his. He has nearly murdered me a few times in my young life. Came at me with something that stabbed me.

Bubs: I am sure he just gave you shots. That’s normal. So guess what happened next?

Cupcake: Oh geez, there’s more?

Bubs: Yep, more. Then mom whipped out her phone and started showing off the latest pics of us, including our Easter pics from early this morning.

Cupcake: Wait, mom did what? She started showing off pics of us in church on EASTER SUNDAY? The woman has no shame. I tell ya…no shame.

Bubs: Well sissy, you are right. Our momma has no shame. And will show us off anywhere, anytime. She’s a typical dog mom. A lot like other moms but cooler. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ

Have a good Easter Sunday! Paws and kisses to all!🐢

Palm Sunday

Sporting a palm inspired look for today. It was a nice sunny day for this. But suddenly within the last few minutes the clouds have rolled in and it’s fixin’ to storm. Happy Sunday, friends.🐢🐾

Don’t Be A Doormat

The Bubs: This past week went by fast. I felt like I woke up and it was Saturday. πŸ˜†

Cupcake: It’s basically Saturday for us everyday. Mom had to work late on Friday, so we got lots of dad time. But we got lots of mom time yesterday when dad went to grandma and grandpa’s house for the afternoon.

The Bubs: What else happened in your world, sissy?

Cupcake: Mom decided to majorly complicate my life with her new purchase she was so proud of.

The Bubs: Haha! You are a freak, it’s just a doormat.

Cupcake: It tried to murder me.

The Bubs: Oh my gosh, you’re crazy. Seems you aren’t a fan of mom’s latest decor item.

Cupcake: I hate it.

The Bubs: So on a scale of one to ten what would you rate it?

Cupcake: Zero. An absolute zero. I hate it so much. It’s too big. It goes from corner to corner of our door. Worst money mom has spent since I’ve known her.

The Bubs: Here’s a good sissy story, she refuses to put a paw on this new doormat so she sits behind the mat about a foot away from it and waits with pleading eyes for mom to pick her up and carry her over the new doormat and inside the house. Mom fought with her a few mornings to get her to walk in the mat but now it appears mom is starting to give up and has started to just pick Cupcake up as we walk up to the house. Sissy, you are a trip.

Cupcake: My feet are WAY TOO precious for that stupid doormat I did not give mom permission to buy.

The Bubs: Oh geez, how dare her.

Cupcake: I agree…how dare her. My life was complicated enough.

The Bubs: πŸ™„πŸ˜΅‍πŸ’«….have a good new week, friends! Easter is upon us!
