Quite Fancy

Bubsy: Greetings to all….welcome to our almost April let’s get March over with Sunday evening. So what’s going on with you sissy?

Sissy: I have problems…it’s raining too much for my liking. ☔️

Bubsy: It was a noisy storm last night but no tornado sirens so I slept peacefully. I have a feeling you are going to be a bit testy this week based on the weather. Oh wait, what am I saying….you are a bit testy every week.😆

Sissy: I uphold the house rules. No one is allowed to have fun except for me. Now if that means I’m testy then so be it.😉

Bubsy: You let daddy have a piece of your mind earlier today.

Sissy: He was rushing around getting ready for church and he got too close to me. So I let him know I didn’t appreciate him getting too close to my precious self.

Bubsy: As you can read, sissy has a high impression of herself.

Sissy: Is that a fancy way of saying I’m conceited?

Bubsy: Perhaps…and by the way sissy, you are quite fancy.  So in other news in our household dad’s favorite toy….his Xbox kicked the bucket for good last night. The Xbox is a done deal.

Sissy: Surprisingly dad is only mildly devastated about the Xbox situation.😆😉

Bubsy: Other big news…mom got out of the house yesterday and went to a birthday party. Yay! 🎉 She managed to even drive herself.

Sissy: Okay, driving to the birthday kid’s house was not a big accomplishment since he lives literally around the corner. Like seriously….ten doors down. It’s pathetic she needed to drive the car to get there.

Bubsy: Oh geez, sissy! You better hope mom doesn’t read your comments because otherwise trouble may find you.

Sissy: Nah, I’m not too scared.

Bubsy: Basketball and now the return of football has been ruling our TV the last few days.

Sissy: Oh my gosh…football again! I can’t take it. These tackling machines running around looking like they could pop out of the TV at any moment. Didn’t football just get over for the season?

Bubsy: Yes, the NFL finished in February. But now it’s the UFL and Arlington has a team.

Sissy: I’m speechless! 😶

Bubsy: A speechless sissy…I like that. 😆 It’s about that time we put a wrap on this post. Hope everyone enjoys the start of April and don’t get fooled on Tuesday! And below you will find our pic of the week…May I say welcome to our parade of Easter clothes. Seriously, that’s all you will see us in for the next few weeks.

Sissy: Which means, he will be in a healthy dose of girly pastel colors. 😆😆

Bubsy: I’d do anything for my mommy…including wear pastel Easter colors she likes dressing me in. Although she tries hard to get a boyish version of things for me just like in today’s pic…it’s rather neutral with my chick magnet sunnies. 🐣🧲 Oh yes, the return of my chick magnet sunnies….maybe I’m quite fancy too. 😎 Have a good week, everyone! 🐰🐣

Squeaky Weekend

Bubsy: Welcome to our Sunday afternoon. It’s been very squeaky in our household, how about yours? All we hear are the squeaking sounds of sneakers on the basketball court during the many hours of NCAA action our parents have been watching. 🏀

Sissy: I think I might prefer basketball over football. I haven’t gotten freaked out once with the basketball players who are stuck in our tv. During football season I’m skeptical of the football players stuck in our tv. They are huge, wear weird things covering their faces and they appear to be running after each other A LOT.

Bubsy: I don’t think I have a preference of sports. However, basketball play is not the only play in our house. Dad surprised mom with a….

Sissy: Wait….let’s not mislead people. Mom was not expecting this surprise and she would’ve never signed off on dad getting this so-called surprise for the household.

Bubsy: Now I’m going to say it….dad surprised mom with a mini pool table. Who knew there was such a thing as a mini pool table? I think it’s almost our size, sissy. 😆

Sissy: Oh geez, I prefer basketball yet again. The mini pool table is not for me. I do not need the noise of the balls being hit. I don’t need the risk of having to dodge a pool stick. And I definitely don’t need the risk of one of those balls jumping off the table after some lunatic hits it and then I’m running from a pool ball or worse yet I’m knocked senseless with a pool ball. 🤕

This game of pool that has invaded our house has got to go. It’s almost as dangerous as dad playing darts. 🎯 I do not need to try to outrun a dart coming towards my fluffy butt. 🏃‍♀️

Bubsy: Sissy, when you grow up I can see you being a risk assessment manager at an insurance company.

Sissy: I’d be great at that type of job! There’s lots of risks out there. And I’m not afraid to be afraid of things. 😉

Bubsy: The list of things sissy is unafraid of is extremely short. She’s afraid of everything…including her shadow. Being scared of your shadow is the truth for sissy. It’s not just a catchy phrase for her.

Sissy: Hey, it’s not just me that’s afraid of things. You are afraid of stuff too. Like that movie mom and dad watched on Friday night.

Bubsy: I’m not afraid of too much. But that movie was creeping me out. I like to watch TV but I was not into that creepy mummy movie. All the popcorn in the world would not have made that movie interesting to me. 🍿

Sissy: I’m surprised mom made it thru that movie. It was the type of creepiness dad likes but not mom.

Bubsy: Mom was doing her best to keep me calm. She was being brave for me. I was glad when it was over and I was quick to let mom know I was ready for bed afterwards. Although I worried I’d be unable to sleep after watching such a traumatic movie.

Sissy: Well bro, let’s wrap this up and move on with our day. Let’s go catch the last few minutes of the UConn-Florida game.

Bubsy: The champs might be going down. The gators are chomping. 🐊 Have a good weekend everyone….below is our weekly pic and a pic of the new mini pool table dad “surprised” mom with. She was definitely surprised and not exactly in a good way.😉

So Green

Bubsy: Public service announcement….wear green! Dig around in your drawers or get back deep in your closet and find something green to wear or else…

Sissy: Get pinched!

Bubsy: As you can see we are dripping in green.

Sissy: That’s right…dripping in green…we even got cool lingo going on today. 😉

Bubsy: Although as sissy and I were getting dressed in our green gear it suddenly occurred to us….we are too cute to pinch. But just in case there’s some ultra crazy leprechauns around we still thought it was best to get our green on. 🍀

Sissy: Wearing green isn’t hard for us. Our mom loves mint green, lime green, pine tree green. So yeah, green is not hard to come by in our wardrobe. And who would dare pinch me…I’d give them every bit of attitude I have if they did try to pinch me.

Bubsy: Believe me, she would. She has attitude for days and days and days….you get the point. 😉 Anyway, wishing everyone a very green is keen St. Patty’s day! ☘️

Sissy: Enjoy green foods, green beer, and something they call corned beef and while you are at it look for a rainbow and a pot of gold too.

☘️🍀☘️🍀

Bubsy: And don’t forget to beware of crazy leprechauns. ☘️😆🍀

What A Start 😱

Bubsy: Rise, shine, run for your life…. 🏃‍♂️

Sissy: It was not a shining moment.

Bubsy: For those that are unaware. Tornadoes ripped thru the Fort Worth area in the very early part of the morning. Mom naturally wakes up early and gets us up too. There we were in the bathroom getting our toothies brushed we had been awake for about 5 minutes total when the tornado sirens erupted. Mom was in disbelief at first. She thought to herself…’is this a drill?’ But wait…‘it’s too early in the morning for it to be a drill’….about 30 seconds after mom had those thoughts she heard the winds roaring, then about 20 seconds after that she heard the hail pelting. That’s when she tucked me under her left arm like a football and scooped baby sissy up with her right hand and hurried us to the safety zone of our house. She yelled for dad to get up. And next thing we knew we were all hunkered down in our storm safety zone of our house. I was a bit nervous and whiny.😫

Sissy: I was clinging to mom. I’m no fool!

Bubsy: I was clinging to mom too, but you seemed to be trying to get in my way a lot.

Sissy: As I said before…I’m no fool! I’m tiny, I needed mom more. 😉

Bubsy: We waited and waited and waited for the storm to pass. Dad went out a couple of times from our safety zone to check on some things. At one point while still hunkered down we heard a series of loud booms and bangs. Dad went back out to check on things…he then came back to get mom as our fence was down along with power lines and a transformer box that had blown up and landed in our yard. Yikes! 😱

Sissy: Our fence and trees are total goners. Our fence and trees could not handle the 95 mph winds that the tornado had. 🌪️

Bubsy: Mardi Gras started off packing a punch. 🥊 Mercy me!

Sissy: Emergency crews have been all around. Of course our fence being gone has helped them clear up the mess from the downed power lines and blown up transformer box. Crews are actually still on the scene as we type up this blog.

Bubsy: It’s been eventful to say the least. So sissy how is the power grid doing? Sissy loves to report to us about the power grid.

Sissy: The power grid was an epic failure. But that’s kind of not surprising when tornadoes rip thru.

Bubsy: In other news, the school mom works at has suffered significant damage too and school the will be closed for the next few days most likely the rest of the week.

Sissy: It looks like our poor mom has a couple new challenges since we have no fence. The only option is to walk us and she can’t walk too much right now due to her health issues.

Bubsy: I’m thinking mom just can’t seem to catch a break lately. Although I was a very good boy. She leashed me up and took me in the backyard and I handled all my business like a champ. You…on the other hand required mom to take you for a short walk.

Sissy: Um, excuse me. The backyard looks like a war zone and I can see cars and emergency vehicles lining the street since there’s no fence…so there was no way I was allowing my EXTREMELY PRECIOUS feet to touch any of the ground in the backyard. Walkway, porch, side yard…nope, none of it. I squirmed and squirmed until mom got the hint that I was not going to allow her to put me down on the ground. Nope!!!🙂‍↔️

Bubsy: Well here is the goodness. The tornado watch ends at 11:00, the storm has lessened up considerably so things can honestly only get better from here. Hoping everyone out there is having a better start to their Mardi Gras than we did. Happy Mardi Gras! I’m ready for some King’s cake. Since Louisiana is so close to us…Mardi Gras is huge here too. Bakeries everywhere are serving up King’s cake today.

Sissy: I think Mardi Gras is pretty huge all over the south. It’s a southern thing! And after all we’ve been through today mom and dad better get two extra slices of King’s cake for us. We deserve a treat too! 🍰

Bubsy: This is a yours truly side note…what is King’s cake you ask? Well it’s very similar to a coffee cake/cinnamon roll cake. It’s rolled up with cinnamon and a cream cheese filling in the center it’s joined together in a circular wreath shape and a toy baby is placed inside the rolled cake. Then it is decorated with icing the type of icing on cinnamon rolls and also decorated with the colors of Mardi Gras which are yellow, purple, and green. Why is there a toy baby? Whomever gets the piece of cake with the toy baby in it is considered extra lucky and will have a year of good luck. The baby symbolizes renewal and a fresh start to the Lenten season, as Ash Wednesday is tomorrow.

Sissy: Happy Fat Tuesday! Enjoy your Mardi Gras everyone! 🎭
