I just did a dance and screamed and hollered with extreme excitement at the news. I have an app on my phone connected to ASU news. On the Pitch Fork Daily app what was just reported?....Herm Edwards will be named the next coach of ASU. I'm ecstatic! I've been a big Herm Edwards fan since he was a coach in the NFL. ASU needed a BIG name and they got one! They got a guy with NFL coaching experience too! Great job ASU!
By the way, as I danced, screamed, and hollered with extreme excitement as I shouted the breaking news I had just read on the Pitch Fork Daily my husband declared me officially nuts! I'm okay with that! LOL! :) Move over USC, Stanford, and Washington make room for Sparky and the Sun Devils in the upper elite status of the PAC 12.

Cyber Monday
I've only looked briefly but so far I'm wondering where the so-called "cyber Monday" deals are? The few items I've looked at do not seem to be on any extra deal. But if you have found great deals then congrats.
Cody has spent most of the late afternoon obsessing over the preparation of his birthday and Christmas lists. Piper is working on only a Christmas list, her birthday has come and gone for the year. Cody also reminded me...no wait I reminded him...the countdown has officially begun, 10 days until his Sweet 16! He will make it! He will make it far beyond his milestone birthday, because he's going for the record! Not sure what the record is for a pug but he's capturing that record nonetheless. Oldest I've heard of for a pug is 15.
Our Thanksgiving was a bit odd this year. Brad was sick and we ended up staying home from the family gathering. Certainly not the Thanksgiving we had geared up for. I had a strong inkling first thing Wednesday morning that Thanksgiving was in jeopardy for us. When Thursday officially arrived it was clear right away Brad did not want to be around everyone being that sick. Therefore, I briefly went to the gathering to drop off the dishes I had promised to take, then returned home to be with Brad. I regret that I didn't circulate around to say hello to all the family, but I was rather distracted with my thoughts of getting back home to my husband. I certainly hope my lack of socializing with all didn't come off as rude in any way, because I was simply preoccupied with thoughts concerning Brad. By the time Saturday rolled around for us, we both looked at each other and said, "did we have Thanksgiving yet?" It just lacked that traditional feel around here.
However, no looking back, on to the Christmas season...time to put up the tree, as soon as we decide where it's going that is. I'm not sure how Brad will manage setting up the tree without his mini foreman of the job? Simon provided a load of expertise on the subject of constructing a Christmas tree each year. Hence the flashback pic below. Simmie we miss you and your stocking will be hung because mommie can't bare to not hang it little man! We hung Storm's the first Christmas after she passed too!

Quick Snap Sunday
I'm officially ready! Bring on Christmas, wrapping paper with pugs on it has been purchased! LOL!
As I walked thru a nearby store I spotted this wrapping paper with a pug prominently displayed among other cartoonish looking dogs. First impulse buy of the season....LOL! I can't be trusted around cartoonish looking pug figures. No willpower when it comes to puggies! Notice the pug even has his tongue out. I was completely powerless when it came to grabbing this up, well at least it was on sale!!!

Quick Snap Sunday
The Snuggle Is Real
Snug as little bugs in a rug. Cody in front a space heater all tucked in. Piper under the red throw on the couch. I wonder who went around tucking them in? Nope, not spoiled at all. These pics were taken in the morning...doesn't matter the time of day. They get snuggled under blankets any time.
Yes, that's a heating pad on Cody. He has taken over the household heating pad. I put it over him at some point during each day. He loves it! He loves being warm and cozy. Plus I'm sure at this stage of his life it feels good on his joints. #myoldpuggieman
As for Piper, she has recently discovered the extreme comfort of the throw pillows on our couch. The red throw caps off her already snuggled in state of mind. Sometimes she disappears completely under the red throw...that's how much she loves to snuggle in.

Taking Over
Me: Um, excuse me, little cat-daughter can I have my sweatshirt back?
Piper: But I'm the cat! Everything in this house is mine!
For those that have pets, especially those that have CATS...you know what I'm talking about. Cats especially like to try to take over. When they get caught taking over something, they give that innocent and exceptionally cute look at you that says, "Oh, I could've swore that was mine not yours". At least with dogs they are stuck on the ground and are not as persistent as a cat. Cats really do seem to believe they own the world! LOL

Quick Snap Sunday(on Monday)
Feed Me!
After putting some things away in our bedroom, I returned to the living room area only to see no one was around. I walked towards the kitchen and rounded the corner to see this little scene. Brad down on the floor feeding Cody his nightly treat. Cody eats his food just fine but when it comes time for treats he seems to have a problem finding and grabbing the treat out of his bowl. Due to the late hour of night when his treat is given to him, he has a hard time seeing much of anything. He sniffs for things but tends to keep missing stuff. Therefore, Brad has realized it works better if someone gets down to Cody's level to feed him his treat.
It's actually kind of cute to watch. Cody is super gentle as he takes each little nibble of his treat offered to him. Let me just reiterate, this is only a treat time thing. Cody eats out of his bowl like a normal dog, like he has his whole life at mealtimes. Only super crazies feed their dog one kibble at a time, that's not what is happening here. Just a nice daddy making sure his little pug-son gets all of his treat. :)
I'm not really sure why I didn't get around to doing the Quick Snap Sunday post yesterday? I was busy but yet it was slightly boring around here too. I was doing a couple baking experiments to work out the kinks before the holiday season is in full swing and I, of course, watched football too. It was just me and the pets as Brad went to watch the Cowboys game with his dad. I wasn't invited to go...Brad wanted it to be father-son time. I don't think his mom got that memo though....LOL! I politely stayed home and like I said busied myself with baking, laundry, and football watching. Yet, I must say I missed Brad all afternoon! It was weird not watching Sunday football with him. I'm spoiled! Wish it was a more interesting game for Monday night football for us to watch together, maybe Miami can hang with Carolina though...we'll see!

Cody Goes To The Vet
Last week I spent a reasonable, okay an unreasonable amount of time obsessing over pet hospital reviews. Nothing but the BEST for my fur-babies. I was trying to holdout on choosing a new vet until our upcoming move to the opposite side of Fort Worth but the move keeps getting pushed back and the holdout needed to end. Driving to downtown Dallas to the old vet office is just too darn far now. My top choice was a Banfield since it would be easy to switch again once we move in January, I figure all their computer systems are connected and record sharing would be a breeze. But oh my, oh my....hmm, no way...my babies will not be seen at a Banfield. Reviews were the worst I came across in my research. I've always preferred privately owned pet hospitals versus corporate owned, simply a preference. I took the boys to Banfield during their puppy year and then I was done, I guess I'll continue to stay away. There are decent Banfield's out there, I'm sure. I'm not trying to dis them, but the large corporate feel is not what I prefer. As I said before....it's a preference thing! After finally choosing a new vet it was lucky little Cody that received the distinguished honor of being seen first.
When I was heading out the door with Cody in my arms late in the afternoon, Brad asked if I had "the cage" in the pathfinder for Cody already? I was puzzled for a brief moment, as Cody is way too evolved for a cage. LOL! Plus it's not a "cage", it's a carrier. What a silly husband I have, calling it a cage and thinking Cody needs to be in one. LOL! We used the carrier with both boys together in it. But typically when it was/is only one boy by himself I just sit them upfront with me. Cody sits on the floorboard on the passenger side. He rides shotgun!
I'm happy to report the appointment went well from most standpoints. As well as it could go when one has an elderly pug. The vet and I discussed options concerning his eyesight. She did some eye staining to figure out which parts of his eye are still working. He's been blind in the right eye for many months now. His left eye has been a bit of a mystery though. The vet determined Cody is unable to see out of his left eye except for a slight detection of light and dark. His cornea which controls the recognition of lightness/darkness is still working a little. So sadly he is basically completely blind. Of course that wasn't great to hear, yet I'm somewhat glad to know a little more. Other than his loss of eyesight and some arthritis he's doing quite well.
Message to Cody...your new doc says you're in good shape for your advanced age, big man! You'll be celebrating your Sweet 16 in 4 weeks. So get your party hat on order from Amazon!!!

Quick Snap Sunday
Sunday Catnap! (no pun intended)
Catnapping at it's best! Honestly in her opinion there's no better place than catching an afternoon snooze session in the windowsill. I love the crossed paws as she rests her head. She's so sweet! We got lucky with her, she's a sweet little girl.
I think we are all a little extra tired today. Changing time always seems to do that to us. Usually takes me a few days to get adjusted. We all went to bed in good timing last night, even the major night owl of the family. It was nice though getting in the car early this morning, noticing the time on the clock then quickly realizing it's not that late in the morning, move that clock back an hour.

Ugly....
What in the world!!! Cody is extremely distraught over this little find. There I was walking thru the store when my eyes spotted this! I mean, come on! If this isn't disrespect towards pugs than I don't what is?
The title of this Texas beer brings back a bad memory for Cody. It was 2002, he was a tiny pup, it was the "B.S." days....Before Simon! LOL! I had taken Cody over to see my mom for the very first time. She came out to greet us at the car. I pulled baby Cody out of a box that I used for the first month or so to keep him in when traveling in the car. As soon as she laid eyes on him she immediately said this, "He's so ugly, he's kind of cute."
Oh my poor mom, I'll never let her forget that little story of her first meeting with baby Cody. And I'm sure she's so pleased that the story will now forever live on the blog!!!! LOL!
Well I should end this because I think Cody is wanting me to help him write a scathing letter to the beer company! #helpapugout #pugprotest

World Series and Weekend Ready
It's Thursday...raise your hand if you're ready for the weekend? My hand is raised. I'm still wondering though if this is a "tennis weekend" for us or not. Brad was fully back to his tennis team last weekend, competing in his first match of the season. Unsure if he's been picked to play this weekend or not?
What a World Series, right? Man, it was great. It took up quite a few of our evenings but that was fine with us. Halloween night was a bit tricky though...get it?...tricky?...Halloween tricks? You're welcome, I'm here all week folks! Lame jokes for days! Anyway, we have a tradition to watch a Halloween-ish movie on Halloween night. We order in pizza and watch a movie that matches with the holiday. Since the game was on we had to balance the two. Although thanks to the game being out in L.A. that wasn't hard. The games go pretty late for us when it's being televised from the west coast. Plenty of the game remained by the time the movie was done. Our fur-babies participated with the night's festivities by staying in their costumes and being ready to greet trick-o-treaters. So happy Houston won!!!! Of course we were for Houston....anything TX!!!! This is an EXTREMELY pro Texas household! As if I had to bother stating that! When it was official and Houston got that last out to take the Series, yours truly may have jumped up and down on the couch. :)
Weekend plans? Maybe dinner and a movie at the actual movie theatre...A new Marvel movie comes out at midnight! We have time change this weekend, so we get an extra hour. Can't dislike that!
Side note to all my peeps....Tomorrow, as in Friday the 3rd, is National Sandwich day!!!! Subway participates by doing buy one get one free. So grab a peep and head to Subway tomorrow!
