Friday Night Has Arrived
It's Friday, what does Friday mean...obviously the weekend is about to start. It's 5 o'clock somewhere am I right? Actually I'm typing this a little after 7 o'clock so the weekend has arrived. Brad still isn't home yet but the weekend is beginning nonetheless.
Friday's also mean, curbside pick-up for us. I run around to do our curbside pick-ups. Actually chose Target again since we needed other stuff that's not as good to get at a grocery store. Of course my little partner in crime went with me. He is finally becoming a good little traveler, it took awhile with him. But he's finally there. He was never "bad" in the car but I could just tell he didn't enjoy it as much as most dogs. He has slowly come around and gotten more used to it. Now he's offended if he doesn't get to go. LOL!
This weekend we will be celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday. The small get-together is at my in-laws house. We hope to have a little "after party", as we have termed it, here at our place. So the main party is at the in-laws then my brother-in-law and sister-in-law usually come over after we leave the in-laws place. The 4 of us stay up late and play games. It's fun!
Hopefully you all have a few fun things planned this weekend or at least one fun thing!

The New Week
Forgot to do the Quick Snap Sunday post again. What was I doing yesterday? Keeping Landon's Insta up to date, watching basketball and the Indy 500. I imposed a boycott of the NBA on our household when they first started back up. Well that lasted until the playoffs officially started. Now Brad needs to watch his Mavs and his wife's ban on the NBA went out the window. Oh well, I'm over it.
One thing I'm not over...Piper ruining things around here. I was so furious with her on Saturday. Finally though her daddy is on to her. He is suddenly realizing I'm not kidding she has become a defiant lazy brat. She does what she wants and takes the punishment. Oh gee, who does that remind me of...Simon. Simon was the same way...do the crime and gladly do the time for the crime.
I mentioned Landon's instagram account...the little dude has gotten popular. It's a challenge at times to keep up with all his popularity. Keep up with his comment section, his challenges, and of course continuing to make posts. I love it though! I love being a part of the havanese community on instagram. When I get my new phone. I will go a step further with his instagram account...I will add video. We of course have taken many videos of the little dude but those are on our real cameras, too much of a pain to upload camera footage from a real camera to instagram. So yeah, once I get a new phone it'll be a breeze to do videos of him and upload them to instagram.

It's Friday Night!
Whew it's the weekend! Oh what a week. Glad it's the weekend. No big plans. Relax!!
Our week was consumed by the issue of our tree in our front yard. Long story short. Tree lost a HUGE branch. It basically split in two. It was determined unsafe to keep the tree. So the tree is no more. I was not happy to lose the tree. I didn't understand why it couldn't be trimmed up and left alone after the bad section was gone. I hated losing the shade. Oh the shade! I miss it already!!! The house looks so bare now out in front. I guess we'll get used to the new look. I'll have to put a little more effort into flowers for sure.
On the flip side...Piper was caught enjoying the new unobstructed view out the front window. She's never really cared about the view out the front window since moving to the house. Maybe she's discovered a new spot. Move over little brother!
It's a pizza and movie night for us! Not sure what movie yet. Something feel good was my request. Nothing about aliens taking over the planet. Mercy me!

Am I Being Punished?
As if dealing with all these covid issues and madness isn't enough, it's August and we still have empty shelves. Who the freak is hoarding stuff? I want names! LOL! Stores around us have now dropped many essential items down to 1...One per shopping trip. It was 3 per shopping trip up until now. Now only one!!! A new effort to stop the hoarding.
I have to say, I'm surprised, I thought we'd have more people rising up, wanting to get back to normal. Instead it feels like people want it to keep going, for as long as possible. Maddening because I look around on instagram and I see plenty of pics, even videos from other countries and no one is wearing masks. No one is still working from home either. They have people back to work. They have kids back in school. No one is acting like America...scared of everything.
But that's not my biggest issue today, my issue today is that I have hockey and basketball to deal with in AUGUST ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON. What is happening? Was I bad? Am I being punished? Doesn't it feel like we are all being punished? All of us except for the mindless idiots that are driving down the street inside their vehicle with a mask on. It's those mindless idiots that are helping to keep things from getting back to normal.
All I have to say is sitting here in our living room watching hockey in AUGUST and during the day seems and feels like a punishment. Will the madness ever stop? This is supposed to be my break from hockey and most importantly my break from basketball. I NEED a break from basketball. I might go insane soon. Dealing with covid and hearing about the Lakers and Lebron and watching men skate around on ice. It's only a matter of time until I go nuts. When they end up hauling me off to the "funny farm"(as my grandmother used to say), I'm taking Landon too. I need company!

A Landon Post
Oops, mom missed the Quick Snap Sunday post. Now you are forced to endure a Landon post and picture. I know it will be difficult...but buck up little campers!
Let's see what is going on here...it's hot...it's like Cuba hot, good thing I'm a havanese, right? Last week wasn't bad at all, this week we are paying for the niceness of last week. But hey at least it's been breezy in the mornings! Trust me, mom complains about the heat more than I do. Trust me on this one too, mom complains when it's too hot and when it's too cold. These hooman mom's are like never happy with the weather. Back in the wintertime she was trying to convince dad to move to Florida. Really mom? Have you seen me when the humidity is super high here in Texas and you want to drag my furry buns to Florida. One thing is for sure, I'll never be camera-ready in Florida. My instagram page will seriously suffer. Don't worry the talk about Florida is minimal in our house. I'll let you know when and if it ever gets too serious. Mom, mentions it mostly in the winter. LOL!
In other news, it's been extremely hard for mom to find our foods, mine and Piper's brands of food. Anyone else experiencing this issue with pet food since the pandemic started? It's a monthly problem in our household going on 4 months now. The stores just simply don't have much to offer. Mom has gone to great extremes trying to find our food. I've been eating a sample bag of my food that our sweet neighbor got for me since she works at a pet store. As for Piper, well she ran out of food completely on Sunday. She's been surviving on treats and tuna. She's been getting a can of tuna a day. You know what I don't think she's been objecting to the food shortage, not since she's eating tuna all day. However, her delightful meals of tuna ended this afternoon when our order from chewy.com arrived. Can you believe mom only ordered food for the two of us. There were no toys in the box. I checked 3 times for toys. Mom needs to be put in a timeout! Don't you agree? Never buy food without buying at least one toy.
Time to wrap this up and post my picture...my hashtags will be under my picture...

Friday...Weekend Arrives!
I went with my little dude to do our curbside pickup today. Friday is curbside pickup day for us in this household. My little dude is getting more comfortable in the car finally. But someway somehow he has radar and knows when we are about to be home. As soon as we turn down our street he gets all antsy. Side Note...Target has figured out a way to be a little more personal while still be contactless and curbside. They text you while they are shopping for your items and the person that texts and shops for your items is the one that delivers them to your car. It's not quite like that at Kroger. It's a little more "robotic" at Kroger. Anyway for what it's worth Target has figured out a way to be slightly more personal in a impersonal age we suddenly find ourselves in.
In other news...plan on getting a new phone very soon. Maybe by Monday. My phone is so old it's ridiculous. It's gotten to the point of embarrassment. I don't want people to see my phone because it's just too embarrassing. I'm not sure why I've held on to it for so long. It has worked well, never had a problem with it. But it's to the point where it's losing the ability to do certain functions each month. So yeah, it's time to get a new one. Now here's the weirdo I am...I am picking my phone based on the case. Yes, you read that right. I've seen companies on Instagram that will put your dog's pic on your phone case. I need Landon's pic on my phone case...believe me, I do. I will choose my phone based on the phone case options. Yes, I'm crazy. Crazy about my little dude!
Anyone have any big plans this weekend? We are having my brother-in-law and sister-in-law over tomorrow night. Game night with some good food and extra entertainment provided by Landon. He LOVES his aunt and uncle. His aunt and uncle love him too. He showers his Aunt Debra with kisses and he loves cuddling up in Uncle Rob's lap. May you all have a good weekend!

Quick Snap Sunday
And August Begins
Our toilet cracked right down the middle of the tank part. Strangest thing ever! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Apparently it was installed wrong when they did the remodel on this house. Got that issue dealt with. However, then Thursday night our a/c went out. We had a terrible night of sleeping, especially Brad. I spent Friday morning trying to get workers to come out to work on it. But I was told to call back if the house reached a certain degree otherwise we were not a priority and would not be put on the appointment books until early this coming week. Well it reached that important priority temp in our house in the middle of the afternoon on Friday but by then all appointments were booked up. So we had to wait until yesterday to get the A/C fixed. From Thursday night to Saturday midday with no A/C. It was not fun!
Now get this, as I was sitting there on the phone dealing with trying to get an A/C repairman to come out to us, I hear a strange noise at the same time Landon erupted into barking. Angry barking too! I look out the window to see our mailbox had been hit and run over. And Landon was not happy about it! It was a hit and run too, the guy looked back briefly then took off. Landon usually doesn't bark unless people are walking up the driveway to the house but apparently hitting his mailbox makes him bark like crazy. So yeah, the mailbox is a done deal!
Just briefly let me revisit the A/C issues...I'm not proud of it but I had moments from Thursday night to Saturday morning where I was quite the baby about not having air conditioning. I was tired of sweating. I was tired of guzzling water to stay hydrated. Seriously I was like Storm or Cody type of cranky. Brad overall dealt with it better than I did. But can I just say...he had a break from it. I was here all day Thursday when it was on the blink and I was here all day Friday when it was completely out. So perhaps I can be granted a slight bit of extra understanding. As for our furry duo, Piper just wanted to sleep through it. She told us to wake her when it was fixed! Landon was his typical go with the flow little self. He dealt with it by having a steady diet of ice cubes!
Just a side note...of the pets we've had Storm and Cody were the crankiest...which was the most cranky of all...I LOVE you so much Cody-man...yikes, I have to be honest, Cody gets the gold medal! Cranky old man from day one. But I always felt like I was good at soothing his crankiness or at least dealing with it. LOL!
