Running Behind

Bubsy: It’s been quite the day here. It started extra early at about 3:20 AM, however, someway somehow we’ve been running behind all day. Hey sissy, have you caught up today yet?

Sissy: We just got our second walk of the day at our normal time so I think we are caught up. 

Bubsy: Mom was not feeling well this morning and it was ridiculously cold so our morning walk got delayed until after mom and dad got home from church. 

Sissy: The weather was so great all last week. Then the weekend arrived and we were thrown a very cold curveball. Mom and dad planned on going out to celebrate Valentine’s Day a few days late but that didn’t happen because the weather was not cooperating with them. 🥶 

Bubsy: Enough about all that…you know what special occasion arrives this week? 

Sissy: President’s day is tomorrow and beyond that I’m unsure. 🤔 

Bubsy: Oh please sissy, you know what’s happening on Tuesday. It’s your bday! That’s another reason why we are late doing the blog today because mom has been preparing for your bday. 

Sissy: I sure hope she finished prepping things because I need good gifts. 😉 

Bubsy: I’m sure you’ll get good gifts. Best part is you have to share those gifts with me. 😉

Sissy: Don’t remind me. Speaking of good gifts…mom scored great gifts for Valentine’s day from her tiny students. She got candy, a giant cookie bigger than my head,  gift cards, and flowers. 

Bubsy: Yep, she scored. We scored too. Because a couple of her tiny students brought special treats for us. 

Sissy: Well on that note let’s wrap this up and go beg mom for one of the treats leftover from Valentine’s day. And since we’ve been running behind today we are going to post our very overdue Mardi Gras pic that our lame mom forgot to post for us last Tuesday. Notice my expression in the pic….I was unimpressed to do the Mardi Gras photo shoot and I’m still very unimpressed, especially since it’s being posted 5 days late. 🫤 

Rugged Week

Bubsy: Today is a big day, it’s a Super day…Super Bowl is tonight. But clearly few are concerned about it. One trip to Target or any grocery store and all you will see is Mardi Gras and Valentines stuff. Mom ran around trying to find Super Bowl items for her Super Bowl party and had no luck. It’s like no one in TX cares. So I guess enough Super Bowl talk. Let’s talk to sissy. How was your week, sissy? 

Sissy: I’ve had better weeks. Dad annoyed me to no end this past week. 

Bubsy: Oh no, what happened that annoyed you so much? 

Sissy: First off, the cat annoyed our parents by peeing on the accent rug. And it was definitely the cat. Bubs and I were never suspected of that terrible crime. We had an excellent alibi. We were at Petco with mom. 😉 Dad cleaned the rug. Then mom decided she didn’t really want the rug back in the kitchen. So dad all on his own decided to create a “runway” by placing the ousted kitchen rug next to the doormat at the back door. Then when it was time for mom to take me outside to potty, she opened the door, I looked down to see this runway of rugs. The old kitchen rug now adjacent to the doormat, I gasped. I then looked up at mom and my face said it all. As mom looked at me she clearly read the “words” across my face which were…”what new and fresh H—E—Double hockey sticks is this! I don’t do accent rugs or doormats. I jump over them or walk around. But now with two rugs there is no spot for me to land my jump. I can’t jump over two rugs at the back door. 😠 Thankfully, mom to my rescue. She has moved the rug dad so stupidly placed next to the doormat. Thank goodness, because I have yet to master flying. 

Bubsy: Sissy, your fear of rugs and doormats is rather unbelievable. But I got news for you….mom and dad agreed to do a household gift instead of individual valentine gifts for each other. The gift they are getting for the household is a new area rug in the living room. 

Sissy: I’m going to have to purchase a hovercraft and hover around the living room. 🙈

Bubsy: Or you could face your fear and try WALKING on a rug. They are cushiony for your precious feets. 

Sissy: My precious feets do just fine without a rug under them. 

Bubsy: Anyway, it was apparently a “rugged” week for sissy. Pun intended! 😉🤣

Sissy: 🙈

Bubsy: On to more important stuff….the week ahead….Mardi Gras is up first, then Valentine’s Day. 🎭❤️ To everyone out there, enjoy the big game today if you aren’t boycotting it like a lot of people due to the “Swift effect”. And then eat up on Mardi Gras and have a lovely time on heart day. ♥️ It’s going to be a big week! The pic below is from this morning…it’s been a rainy day here. And this morning I got a little wet and had to be toweled off. 💦

Early Spring?

Bubsy: Good day sissy,  let’s review the week? How did your week go? 

Sissy: Other than the rain, things were fine in my world. Dad wasn’t home much so we had extra time to think without him pestering us. 😉 And mom came home from work extra happy a couple of days this past week.

Bubsy: Yeah, mom came home on national puzzle day with a free puzzle they gave out to each teacher. You would’ve thought she won the lottery, she was so excited over a puzzle. 🤣 Then a few days later she won an award at work and received a gift basket. So once again her excitement level was high. 

Sissy: Then a day after that whole award winning business, mom met a family that enrolled their tiny human in her class. They switched from her old school just to have her as their child’s teacher. 

Bubsy: Well now it’s onto this coming week. Oh mercy me, we forgot to welcome the people out there that read this blog to February…happy February! We are only 4 days into this new month but I’m beginning to believe that groundhog’s prediction of an early Spring. Rain, mild temps, and birds are out early in the morning chirping about. So perhaps Spring will arrive soon. 

Sissy: We shall see. I hope so. I’m ready to not have to get bundled up for long walks. 

Bubsy: Unfortunately we’ll likely be trading in the winter duds for raincoats. ☔️ 

Sissy: Oh geez, you are probably right. 🙈

Bubsy: Speaking of rain….it’s threatening right now. And our momma wants to take us for a walk right away. So we will abruptly end this post. Everyone have a good week.
