Just Ducky Bday! ðŸĨģðŸĶ†

Bubsy: Are you feeling just ducky this Sunday morning?

Sissy: I’ve been feelin’ just ducky since Friday, my bday! My bday weekend! ðŸĶ†

Bubsy: Our mom created a rubber ducky theme for sissy’s bday. Complete with new raincoats that are ducky themed.

Sissy: Mom doesn’t make us match too much but our new raincoats match.

Bubsy: Dad made fun of my ducky raincoat, said I looked like a dork in it. My clothes are generally not “boyish” enough to satisfy dad.

Sissy: Yep, he thinks you should wear only sports gear and camouflaged military stuff. 🊖

Bubsy: But I’m so manly, especially with my chest hair! Who doesn’t like a furry little guy with cuddly chest hair? My manliness can make pink and yellow look good. 👍

Sissy: Oh geez, enough about you. Let’s talk more about me! After all it is my birthday weekend. So the Birthday Fairy failed with the purchase of my gifts. When is the Birthday Fairy going to get things right? In recent weeks Cupid and the Birthday Fairy have failed to buy me toys I like. I only like ROUND and RED toys! Did I receive a round toy? Nope! Did I receive a red toy? Nope! The Birthday Fairy didn’t even hit one of my categories. 😖

Bubsy: I guess, it’s her party and she’ll cry if she wants to. 😆 I love the new toys sissy got. I’ve been busy since Friday night properly breaking them in. As long as it squeaks loudly I’m a happy guy. Even if it doesn’t squeak loudly I’m a happy guy. 😉

Sissy: Don’t get me started with you! Since Friday night all you’ve done is play with my new toys. ðŸ˜Ą

Bubsy: Guilty! ðŸĪŠ What can I say…I love the new rubber duck toys! ðŸĶ† Well sissy let’s wrap this up and go snuggle with mom on the couch. She’s ready to watch a movie. And I’m the best snuggle partner for movie time, especially on a chilly day. And all other days! 😉 Hope you all have a great week. ðŸū

Stupid Cupid

Bubsy: Buckle up, sissy, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Sissy: Oh no! It’s not a bumpy ride for me. It’s a bumpy ride for momma.

Bubsy: Our mom’s last two work weeks have been more than chaotic…whatever more than chaotic entails that’s what her work week has been. Lots of questions. A load more stress. And of course extra long hours.

Sissy: Well now that I think about it, it is a bumpy ride for me too….because I refuse to go outside to pee with dad. That’s a mom only task! So I’m having to hold it for longer than usual…a lot longer, as we wait by the window each night anticipating her arrival home for the day. Key word there is “night”, mom has been getting home after it gets dark! ðŸ˜ą

Bubsy: As there’s an interim staff running the office we don’t see things changing much for mom until March. Anyway, enough about all of mom’s work drama. Moving on to better things like Valentine’s Day! Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. Cupid did us well by bringing us strawberry treats and a toy each. Well, I basically got two toys since sissy wasn’t too thrilled with the toy Cupid brought her.

Sissy: Stupid Cupid should know I only accept toys that are red and round. Geez! 😒

Bubsy: Oh pardon Cupid, apparently he wasn’t aware. Since I scored two toys…yours truly, was very happy with Cupid unlike “yours bitterly”.  Hey, that’s a great new nickname for you…”yours bitterly”. I can be “yours truly” and you can be “yours bitterly”. 😆 The bitterly part fits you well.

Sissy: Excuse me, I am not bitter! I’m just unique.

Bubsy: Well that’s true! Anyway, this is a BIG week in our neck of the woods. It’s Mardi Gras on Tuesday and our mom is currently in the kitchen working on her King’s cake to take to her work. Let me tell you folks….the two best smells in this state are the baking of a yummy cinnamon filled King’s Cake and smoked brisket.  Today we will be able to smell the King’s Cake cooking in our own house. And tomorrow and again on Tuesday the smell of King’s Cakes will fill the air and drift to our noses as the nearby bakeries bake up King’s Cakes in the coming days. Forget about love being in the air…Mardi Gras smells are in the air. Heavenly! 😋

Sissy: And we’ll smell the brisket in a few months when the big time bbq season kicks off.

Bubsy: Something else kind of important follows Mardi Gras this week. Three days after Mardi Gras is what, sissy?

Sissy: My bday! Everyone prepare to bow to the Queen come Friday! It’s time to “paw-ty”. We shall see what mom’s theme is for my birthday this year. She’s crazy about themes.

Bubsy: Maybe it’ll be a Mardi Gras theme? That would be fun and mom could use the same decorations and stuff she’s using with her class on Tuesday for your party. I should warn you though sis. Your bday is on Friday but your party isn’t until Saturday. Grandma and grandpa are coming to celebrate with us on Saturday.  ðŸŽ‰

Sissy: I know our momma well enough to know I’ll get a mini party on Friday night plus the other party on Saturday. 🧁

Bubsy: I can’t wait for your bday since I’ll score just as much as you! 😆🎉 Well on that fun sentiment, we shall wrap this up and go enjoy our Sunday. Just to let everyone know we are having trouble posting pics on this blog lately, since new AI controls took effect on this particular blogging platform. Our mom is currently looking into other options for our blog. There are many other platforms out there. We are kindly letting our momma shop around for a different platform. So stay tuned we may move to another platform. In the meantime there might be a pic and there might not? This platform is inconsistent on allowing pics lately. Anyway, hope you all enjoy your Mardi Gras! We certainly will! Eat pancakes, King’s Cake, jambalaya, and enjoy the parade. Let the good times roll!  ðŸĨðŸŽ‰ðŸŽš

Party On

Bubsy:  Don’t let the partying stop. 😉ðŸĨģ Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday! Are you ready for some football, sissy? 🏈

Sissy: As ready as I’ll ever be. In a surprising turn of events tonight during the big game our momma will be the one cheering like there’s no tomorrow. She’ll be the one calling out the refs on their bad penalty calls. And she’ll be the one I will not choose to sit next too. I have my earplugs ready. So yes, I’m ready for football.

Bubsy: Yep, dad doesn’t much care to cheer for either team and momma is all in on one particular team.  It’s been a weekend of partying for us. Mom came home on Friday split her time between watching the Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Italy and baking a cake. Then she spent yesterday hosting an Italian themed party and the party went way into the night. I have to be honest, I fell asleep on mom’s lap around 10:00. This little party animal was done. But now, I’m gearing up for this big game!

Sissy: Last night’s party got crazy. Mom set up a Photo Booth and people got way too into the props and all she had set up. At one point dad tried to get me to get involved and I was not having it. People better leave me alone. You on the other hand…

Bubsy: I loved it! I was walking around with a mask on. And I also wore a chef hat and bow tie. I’m all about doing what the humans are doing. 😆

Sissy: And I’m all about stopping the fun. 🛑

Bubsy: Oh sissy! 🙄 Switching gears, I have news that will make you very happy. It’s going to be a warmer week this week for us. We won’t be so cold we won’t be able to feel our paws. This week will have us questioning whether the groundhog was wrong or not?

Sissy: I hope he is wrong. I hope spring is on the way. I hope you are right that it’s going to be a little warmer this week. Then again, this is Texas and the winds change quickly around here. ðŸ’Ļ

Bubsy: Sissy, I guess we should wind this down so we can go wind down and take a long snooze before the Olympics and the big game tonight. I think it’s fairly obvious in our pic below who our household will be rooting for. Hopefully, the party weekend can continue for us tonight. 🏈

No Shadow

Bubsy: What a week we have had. Are we Texas strong or what? We survived what has been termed as “snowmageddon”.❄️ And we are still surviving the brutal chill.

Sissy: Yep, Armageddon in snow form hit us hard.❄️ I was not a happy camper. However, much to everyone’s surprise I liked walking on the snow more than the grass underneath it. ðŸ˜Ū Who would’ve thought?

Bubsy: It was very shocking. Sissy, had her usual issues with the weather but didn’t mind the snow once it stopped snowing…that is! She wasn’t into the actively falling snow or anything else we got. And let me say, we endured it all…freezing rain, sleet, snow…oh my!  We all rolled the sidewalks in and stayed home. The city was shutdown for about 5 days.

Sissy: We even endured mom staying home for 3 whole days. Some schools reopened on Thursday but most were out until Friday.

Bubsy: Our momma had two terrifying commutes to work during her two day work week thanks to the snow and ice combo on Thursday morning. And then on Friday morning a train very much complicated her drive which ended up taking her 45 minutes when she normally has a commute of 7 minutes.

Sissy: She went on a wild ride thanks to that train blocking the world. She compared it to some book called Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

Bubsy: So moving on, what else is going on in our world? Oh hey, it’s February! Which means lots of things. There’s lots of bdays to celebrate in our family during this month. The Stockyards are open here in Fort Worth. But bigger things are on the horizon too like the Super Bowl, the Winter Olympics in Milan, then after all those things comes Valentine’s Day. Pass me some candy! 😉 This is going to be one exciting month, sissy!

Sissy: I’m actually gearing up for the Puppy Bowl and the week long events at the Westminster Dog Show. Can someone dethrone the pug that won last year?

Bubsy: Like maybe a Havanese? Not that we dislike pugs….we are a pug loving household too.  But you know, we’re biased towards our own breed. 😉

Sissy: I like your thinking, bro!

Bubsy: That’s right we’ll cheer on any and all Havanese. Woof, woof! ðŸū

Sissy: Let’s put a wrap on this and go snuggle. See if my static cling can get any worse after some snuggle time. 😆

Bubsy: Lol! Good for you sissy, embracing your static cling. Here’s the thing about us Havis in this winter mix of weather…our hair is filled with static. Sissy has long hair so she has really been dealing with it.

Sissy: Mom has been following me around with dryer sheets. And when that doesn’t help she turns to a spray bottle. Which I’m not fond of at all. 😠 Being in below 10 degrees weather causes chaos with my hair follicles. But overall, messy hair, I don’t care!

Bubsy: Real quickly before we go…tomorrow is Groundhog Day…Will Phil see his shadow, sissy?

Sissy: He better not!  Because I can’t take 6 more weeks of mom following me around with dryer sheets. 😏

Bubsy: Well let’s wrap this up. Hope everyone has an amazing first week of February and let’s all cross our paws that Phil doesn’t see his shadow tomorrow. Hopefully Phil gets the memo to NOT see his shadow…no shadow! Below is our weekly pic…as you can see we are already getting in the spirit of this lovey dovey month. I must say…I look rather manly rockin’ the pink bow tie and shades. No shame in my game! 😉😎
