In the last post I talked about the boys being boarded and me going to San Antonio with my mom. Lots of things change around here in a relatively short amount of time. San Antonio trip has been canceled. Instead we will stay around Dallas and Fort Worth.
This blog nearly made my mom cancel her trip to Dallas. Apparently she read my last entry! Doesn't everybody get a little anxiety over their parent coming to visit from another state? I think it's somewhat typical. Well, after saying she was canceling then saying she didn't know whether to come or not she has decided to come after all. I knew she would end up coming due to the fact that it's my birthday this coming Wednesday. Since I'm away from home the birthday celebration will be different and rather low-key. In my family you have to be in PHX in order to be acknowledged. I doubt most of my relatives that would normally meet for dinner with me will likely take time to pick up the phone to call me on Wednesday. A select few will but the majority won't.
Little does my mom know that the day she called to tell me she was canceling her trip I had been online planning out the activities we will be doing while she is here. Yes, I'm somewhat of a planner. For some things I can be spontaneous but a visit from mom is not one of those things. I need to be organized and make sure she has a good time while she is here. My need to plan certain things may have come with maturity. When I lived in Seattle I never remember showing my mom much of the city. Now I take more time to plan things out to ensure we both have a good time and she enjoys Dallas. Aside from maturity though I really am loving Dallas and I want my mom to see that! Hence, we are staying around Dallas for the duration of her visit!
