Purrfecting Some Skills

Piper's got skills! Of course she has the typical cat skills! She jumps, sometimes just to see how high she can get.  She has quick "feline" movements. And she meows, super well. Trust me! That skill she has certainly purrfected!

As a little tiny kitten Brad began helping her develop her hockey skills, with the hockey puck being an ice cube.  She's far too "advanced" to use such things as a REAL puck! ;) She scores a goal all the time, every time the ice cube goes racing under our fridge....SCORE!

Apparently now she has decided to develop some basketball skills. Perhaps she was inspired by March Madness last month or is purrfecting her skills to see if the Mavericks would like to sign her just in time for the play-offs to begin! Anyway, she's taken to bouncing or dribbling if you will! She's an aspiring point guard! ;)

The other day I was preparing Brad's lunch.  I got everything ready for him. All he had to do was come in and sit down to eat.  His chips were on the coffee table where he prefers to eat as was his drink and sandwich waiting for him in a sandwich bag.  I worry about it staying fresh so it gets put in a bag until he actually arrives. I know I'm weird!  Anyway, I'm in the kitchen continuing to work on some food prep items.  Next thing I know I hear a weird noise. I listen close but I didn't look over to the living room.  I continue doing what I'm doing. I hear the noise again, this time it's louder. And now I hear some splashing accompanying it. This issue has my full attention now! I couldn't see over the furniture from the kitchen so I began walking over to the living room near the coffee table. There sits Piper on the coffee table. I'm not fond of her getting on the coffee table, it rarely happens but it does happen from time to time. Big no-no though for her to be on the coffee table when there's food. However, when mommie's back is turned, pugs and cat might try to get away with something. There she was sitting next to the glass of juice that had 3 ice cubes in it. Her paw was ever so gently resting on the top of the glass. She then bounced the ice cubes floating on top all the way to the bottom. Hitting them hard enough to cause them to reach the bottom and to make a slight splash. She again waited with paw on the edge of the glass as the ice cubes made their way back up to the surface then gave them another good bounce. She had her own ice cube dribbling game going. Needless to say I quickly let her know this behavior was to cease ASAP.

Sorry Pipe, go purrfect your dribbling skills somewhere else! Somewhere where there's no splashing going on! These pets! I tell you, what little games they don't think of to invent! She was likely proud of herself! Thinking that she was really accomplishing something by bouncing the ice up and down. I wasn't really mad at her, it was kind of enduring! I did let her know though that was not to be tolerated!
