Come On Get Up

Autumn officially started. Which means Simon is on the prowl for acorns and leaves keep sticking to little puggie feet. I love Autumn! Time for things with apples and pumpkin spices. I already made a batch of snickerdoodles as well as sweet spiced blondies last week.

Last night our oldest nephew came over to stay the night. He was taking a little trip this morning so we took him to the airport. This was the second Saturday in a row our household has gotten up before a rooster would even consider awaking. Simon was completely fine with the early start, he was quick to arrive in the kitchen expecting breakfast to be served promptly.  Think again little man, think again.

I'll be honest, I was not planning on going to the airport with Brad and Wes. I figured I would sleep until my normal rise and shine time, while Brad took Wes to the airport. But my husband was completely against me snoozing any more than him. ;)

It got rather comical around here as he attempted to get me up out of bed. I've never been begged so much ever. Simon should take lessons from his daddy. Brad sang, as well as danced. He even brought Piper in our room, holding her over my head as he did a cute version of Piper's voice. She was begging me to get up too. As a last resort in a playful manner he grabbed my foot and dragged me to the edge of the bed. First time I've ever been dragged out of bed. I'm still confused why it was so important for me to tag along this morning. However, I'm flattered my husband wanted me to go so badly...I think!;)

Here's something to note, when out and about that early in the morning the lights are not turned on downtown. All lights are blinking yellow to yield. To me it's a clear sign one is up and out the door way too early! Good times!
