As I've mentioned a few times or perhaps a few hundred times, Cody is a mess when it's feeding time at our little zoo. Every mealtime that arrives it's a given he's going to create a mess. He can't help it, his long tongue prevents him from eating like a normal dog or like a vacuum cleaner which is how Simon used to eat. As he's aged his messiness has gotten worse. We've experimented with a few different bowls in recent months to help him not be so messy. But I always end up going back to his traditional bowl he's had for years now. I just deal with the mess. One good thing is he cleans up his mess reasonably well.
The other night feeding time for the furries arrived. Brad was watching Cody while I went to fold laundry in the bedroom before I started making dinner for the fur-babies' human parents. Upon my return from folding laundry, I glanced down at Cody, my brain took a moment or two to comprehend what I was seeing. Cody's big ol' head was in my pretty mixing bowl. I immediately look to my husband, whom is standing nearby staring down at Cody with a look of proud excitement on his face. I was quick to ask, "Why is Cody's head in my mixing bowl?" Brad was quick to proudly state, "It's perfect! Perfect size for him, he can get his entire head in it. I solved his problem."
Oh my, oh my! My mixing bowl now has a starring role as Cody's new food trough. Well, I loved that bowl and it was part of a set! So let's recap my pug-son has my mixing bowl and my cat-daughter has one of my measuring cups because it's "perfect" size for her treats. My fur-babies are invading my kitchen! LOL!
