Someone's birthday is fast approaching. As a matter of fact just yesterday the fur-babies went shopping for their human daddy's bday gift. I hope they found something good. LOL!
I decided to have Brad's birthday party on the 4th. Double celebration time! Happy birthday Brad and America! I'm unsure what the fireworks are like in our new area so I'm having the party in the afternoon long before fireworks will start popping off. Therefore, if anyone is concerned about seeing fireworks they can still attend Brad's bday party and make it to a fireworks show in the evening. It took a little convincing to get Brad to agree to the party on the 4th. He doesn't like his birthday being combined with the 4th. HUH? Since when does he not like this? I don't always do a combo party of America's birthday and Brad's birthday but it has happened numerous times before.
Once I got Brad onboard with the birthday party on the 4th I then had to turn my attention to the menu. Where to begin with my menu? Well let's briefly explore a list of perfect items to serve at a summer party:
coleslaw
potato salad
Jell-O salad
pasta salad
deviled eggs
Am I right? Perfect, go-to dishes for any summer gathering! Now here is a brief list of items Brad hates:
coleslaw
potato salad
Jell-O salad
pasta salad
deviled eggs
And now you all are curious as to what I'm serving come Wednesday. Well, I have it figured out and none of those dishes will be present. Although I must say every year when I first sit down with a pen and paper to menu plan for his birthday I long ever so slightly to make those go-to food dishes that seem to scream SUMMER. LOL!
