Well Landon has his first ear infection of his young life. Poor little dude! It's been caught very early on so he should get over it quickly. However, I'm not sure that's the most noteworthy thing about my afternoon? The vet appointment turned into quite the experience. First off let me warn you this post is going to get gross, stop reading if you want to.
Let's start at the beginning, we arrived at the vet office. Note to self, Landon is not ready to walk on a leash into the vet office. Duh! Clearly I've been used to older dogs and not a puppy. Landon became petrified as soon as I set him down on the ground after getting him out of the SUV. Of course, I quickly picked him up and carried him in. We are now inside the office and we've checked in and been given the standard clipboard. Let me pause briefly...why is there a clipboard now with 2 pages of questions I have to fill out every time I take a pet to the vet? Anyway, back to my story, I'm sitting there with Landon next to me. He's kind of half on my leg and half on the pillow next to me. As I'm filling out the paperwork I notice he's shaking. I put the clipboard aside to give him some love and assure him it's okay. As I'm assuring him it's okay...it suddenly wasn't okay! It was like a volcano, I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not. Landon threw up with no warning right in my lap and on my sleeve. My pants were soaked in his vomit. Parts of my sweater including my sleeve were soaked in his vomit. I was a sight!
A lady at the front desk came over with tissues. Oh, those 3 tissues she brought me were not helping the large mess I had. It was so embarrassing! I had to go through the appointment covered in Landon's vomit. I looked horrendous and oh man, I smelled horrendous!!! As far as the drive home, thank goodness we have leather seats as I wouldn't have wanted to sit on cloth seats. Plus the windows had to be down a little, we needed serious air circulation.
Side Note:
Ding, ding, ding...we have a new winner. When Simon was about 7, while at the vet with him, I was paying with him in my arms. As I was handing my card to the lady behind the desk Simon happened to notice some treats. In the blink of an eye he had launched himself from my arms and onto the desk as he scampered towards the treats. After getting him under control I looked down at myself, noticing my shirt was ripped. He had ripped my shirt in the process of escaping my arms to get to the treats. I walked out of the vet office very carefully with him positioned in front of me to block my ripped shirt. Up until today that was the most embarrassing situation at a vet office. Not anymore, today with Landon is my new most embarrassing moment at a vet office!
