Piper, Piper, Piper!

What am I going to do with her? She is going to be as big as the house in no time. I recently walked the aisles of Petsmart in search of the least calorie diet cat food. I'm nearly beyond caring what brand it is, it's all about the calorie count. She needs the lowest calorie count available because she is supplementing her diet plenty on the side. Below is a pic of what I woke up to early this morning. She chewed her way into her new bag of treats she received just last night as part of her Valentine's day gift. Everything food oriented belonging to either her or pup-pup has to be in a cabinet nowadays. Nothing can be left out on a shelf. As far as last night, someone, not mentioning any names got a little distracted. Someone was staying up super late and munching out on his M&M's candies his wifey got him for Valentine's day. It's more fun to munch out with somebody else than alone so he decided to have the cat munch out with him, giving her some of her new treats. Then this someone left the bag of treats out on the dining table after he went to bed. Landon and I were both fast asleep in our beds during this munch out session. Piper usually puts herself to bed like Simon used to do. However if Brad stays up late and she hears him eating something she's suddenly up too.

Here's another little story. A few weeks ago, Brad brought home an extra bag of food for Landon. He placed it in the laundry room on a low shelf. Next morning I woke up to a pile of dog food on the floor below the bag of food and a cat laying next to it with a bellyache. She had chewed a nice hole in the side of Landon's unopened extra bag of food and it was spilling out onto the floor. She treated herself to quite the puppy food buffet at some point during the night while all the rest of us were asleep. I'm not sure why neither of us assumed she'd try to eat her way through the bag of puppy food? She has done that before with her food. But neither of us that particular night thought the unopened bag of puppy food was in danger. Big lesson learned. She'll eat through her own bag or pup-pup's bag of food. She's not picky!

Just a side note that has nothing to do with main subject of this post but explains why Brad was up so late. He is home for a nice 4 day break. They were given the green light by corporate to have only a skeleton crew work today since yesterday was Valentine's day and a 3 day weekend is about to begin. I was very shocked when he told me on Wednesday night that he wasn't going to have to go to work on Friday. I can't believe corporate is being so nice. Because yes, he's getting paid for today yet he's at home.
