It's been a wild weather week. Wednesday was the wildest. Today so far just rain and thunder, no threat of what occurred on Wednesday. Let me say, I'm so over tornado season. Goodbye and come back never! Tornado season concludes in June but I'm hoping this past Wednesday's round of tornado activity was it's big send off for the season. Fingers-crossed!
I was at the store on Wednesday when the tornado sirens went off. People were quickly abandoning their carts in the middle of aisles and rushing for the doorways. It was chaotic to say the least. Yes, I of course raced home, but I didn't abandon my cart. I hurried as fast as I could thru the self-checkout. Here's actually the most chaotic part in my opinion...kids! We live near a school, the school dismissed the kids for the day when the city tornado sirens sounded. So there were kids scrambling to get somewhere all over the place. I get it that schools are panicky about being responsible for all those lives if a tornado rips through but is it the best idea to have kids darting across streets and running like mad to get somewhere? I don't know? And don't even get me going on traffic. It was beyond crazy as many people left work as soon as the sirens went off. Probably trying to find their kids that were running like mad across traffic.
Once home I was quickly huddled up with two fur-babies under a mattress. One fur baby was good as gold, the other was much more disagreeable about the situation. I'll let you figure out which one was good and which one had a problem with things. ;)
Perhaps its his young age or maybe just his personality....I hope it's his personality. Anyway, so far Landon has been so impressive this bad weather season. Thunderstorms, hail, tornado threats, tornado sirens going off...go ahead test the little dude, he's got a great ability to just take it all in stride. As I told him on Wednesday when we were under a mattress together and he was in my arms..."little dude, it's like you already know you have to get used to this type of stuff." Yep, he's a Texan! #bornTexan #tornadoesdontscarehim #bornandbeingraisedwithTexasflair #dontmesswithalittleTexasdude
Side Story...Back in late September, the day Brad went to pick out Landon was a very bad weather day. It was pouring with the skies above booming with loud thunder. Clearly since day one our little dude was introduced to the craziness that is Texas weather. :)
