Great Weather, Sports Watching, and Girls Night!

We've had great weather this week!  Unbelievable!  Quite a bit of rain and non hot temps have been a daily treat.  Our high yesterday and today was 85 degrees.  This morning featured a cool breeze and threatened to rain on us the whole way during the long walk.  It seems each August features a day or two of an Autumn preview!  Just a slight taste that tells us to simply hold on, the hotness will be done for the year soon.  I'm sure the temps will climb back up to the norm for this time of year very soon.

It's another shortened weekend for Brad.  He has to work tomorrow.  I'll be so glad when all the vacations are over at his work.  Due to people taking their vacations he's had to work extra.  He's worked more than his usual one Saturday a month. I'll be doing my best to keep busy tomorrow while watching the hours until he comes home pass by ever so slowly.  During the week I'm used to his work schedule and my own schedule but when the weekend comes that's our time.  It definitely feels different to have to go through a Saturday without him being home. I miss him!

We've been watching plenty of tennis.  We're currently watching Federer and Nadal battle it out.  An American player, Isner beat the #1 men's tennis player in the world today.  Awesome!  Maybe America's got a new up and comer to battle some of the elite players in tennis.

I haven't yet pointed out to Brad the Cowboys vs. Cardinals game tomorrow starts while he's at work.  By the time he gets home the game will likely be starting the 4th quarter.  He's not going to be a happy camper, I'm not happy about it either.  When it's pre-season the first half is usually the better half to watch.  Since it's a game that features our two fave teams we are more interested in it than most pre-season football.  Although we watch a fair amount of the pre-season no matter what.  And so far we've watched both Cowboys pre-season games from beginning to end.  I was assuming tomorrow's game was an evening game until my mom pointed out different.

Last night while Brad and his dad plus two friends went to play tennis, my mother-in-law and I did our own thing. It was girl's night!  She came over to our place since Brad and I are still sharing one car. Her and I can just talk and talk, we don't need TV or any other form of entertainment.  We laugh a lot as we get lost in conversation.  I made us dinner instead of going out.  For dessert I made her try gelato.  If you haven't had gelato you must try it!  There's some gelato shops around town and in malls but to our surprise we found gelato in the grocery store recently.  It's amazing!  For those that aren't familiar with gelato it's the Italian version of ice cream.  In my opinion the flavor seems to be more intense and it's creamier than American ice cream.  It's a special indulgence to me!

We've had so much noisy rainy nights lately I'm lacking sleep.  Weird how the noisy rain can keep me up sometimes.  This weekend I need to catch up on sleep. We both need to!  We've had some late nights too.
