Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. We are very European in our household this year, it's "Easter Monday" for us. For those that aren't aware, many parts of Europe have "Easter Monday" which is simply an extra day off so people don't have to rush back to work Monday morning after enjoying their Easter Sunday. Brad decided to give himself an "Easter Monday" by using a vacation day today. So he's home and currently snoozing still. Meanwhile I'm typing this with Landon next to me. I think Landon will be extra tired today from all the festivities of yesterday. He had a very big day, it was his 1st Easter.
Easter morning started early for us. As I baked cookies and we had an Easter egg hunt for our "kids". Landon found all but one of his eggs during the hunt. He got good at cracking them open to get the treats out. Piper lost interest after her first egg was cracked open for her. Yes, for her! From that point on she only wanted treats but wasn't interested in looking for additional eggs that contained the treats. The concept of finding more eggs and getting more treats never seems to compute with her. But Landon got it! He loved every second of looking for eggs. He was so proud to find each egg. He didn't always crack it open though, sometimes he'd proudly strut around with it.
By mid-day we were at my in-laws house for the family celebration of Easter. It was a beautiful day, couldn't have asked for better weather. We spent lots of time outside in the backyard since the weather was idle. Landon at a few points tried to participate in that Easter egg hunt too. Not realizing that egg hunt was for the human kids. But hey, it was quite cute when he paraded around with the egg he found. In his opinion the humans neglected to find that one particular egg, so their loss. LOL!
After returning home from the family celebration at my in-laws, additional family stopped by our place to spend the evening with us. During which, my nephew was happy to finally get Landon's attention and get to play with him. There were lots of distractions at the bigger family Easter so my nephew, Dylan couldn't seem to get Landon's attention long enough. I think all departed from our place around 1:00 am.
So yeah, our Easter was very full, from sun up and beyond sundown. Since we had family here last night we didn't get our traditional Easter evening accomplished. Our tradition the last few years is to watch the movie Hop on Easter evening. But it's "Easter Monday" in our house so Hop will be the feature presentation tonight. Before or after the Dallas Stars hockey playoff game...that is! :)
