So sassy!

Bubsy: Where should we begin, sissy, there’s so much going on lately? First let’s say it’s been a challenging week here in Texas. Tornado after tornado has ripped thru our great state. We were awakened very early this morning to more tornado activity. There are search and rescue units working all hours to try to find more survivors in the rubble. Mom went thru our pantry and will go thru her closet later today to donate what she/we can. The devastation is real, my friends. REAL! As sad/hard as it has been, let’s try to change gears and attempt to lighten the mood. So my sassy sissy, how are you feeling today?

Sissy: Overall, I’m still freaked out from the events of 4:30 this morning when tornadoes ripped around us. However, I’m better than yesterday, as far as how I feel physically. Yesterday I was feeling dazed and confused…and downright angry too.

Bubsy: Angry?

Sissy: Yes, angry. Mom took us to the vet, she stood by knowing I was being repeatedly stabbed then she paid for the multiple stabbing with a smile on her face. Like she was happy knowing I got stabbed and was leaving in misery. Dazed! Confused! And angry is how I spent my day. Not to mention, I was in pain and sore for hours afterwards.

Bubsy: Poor you! Now let me tell this other part of the story of the vet visit. We actually both went to the vet yesterday, sissy had a full office visit with the vet and I just had a tech appointment for my heartworm shot. So the vet tech took me to the back to give me my heartworm shot. Meanwhile sissy and mom were in one of the exam rooms. After a little while the vet questioned, “Where is Landon?”. Mom shrugged her shoulders and said the vet tech already took me to the back. The vet then says, “But that shouldn’t have taken very long, let me go find Landon.” So the vet comes to the back area to find me and there I was playing and making friends with two of the vet techs. The vet tech then returned me to mom and apologized for the delay while explaining he was just having fun playing with me.

Sissy: Oh geez, are you done yet? I was ready to hit the road and leave your fluffy butt there. By the way this is a pointless story you just told.

Bubsy: Not a pointless story at all. My point is the difference between you and I. They took you to the back to give you your shots but they promptly returned you to mom and explained you are quite the disagreeable little sassy thing. But as for me….the vet tech didn’t want to return me. He would’ve taken me home.😉

Sissy: I’m not about to make friends with people that stab me. There’s something wrong with you that you were willing to be friendly to the vet tech that gave you a shot. I gave them every bit of sass I had in me at that early hour of the day.

Bubsy: Oh sissy, no one is doubting that!😉 Let’s move on, what else is going on? It’s a holiday weekend, the start of summer. Which means it’s the start of the smoking meat season around here. That’s all you can smell for miles…meat smoking from about 5:00 am on Sunday throughout the day on Monday. It’s a beautiful thing. All the meat smoking fun will repeat on July 4th then again on Labor Day weekend.

Sissy: They gotta smoke the meat since we can’t keep the lights on to cook in a kitchen. I got brushed this morning by flashlight. Flashlights, lighter fluid, and charcoal are all precious commodities here right now. By the way, that blackout this morning was long. And it delayed our morning quite a bit as mom didn’t want to walk us without streetlights being on. So we had to wait until it naturally got light outside.

Bubsy: This has been a very weird Springtime for us. All these power grid failures…well, I never thought they would go all Spring like this. Thought they’d have it fixed by now.

Sissy: Well mom thought dad would have a job by now. But it’s been almost a year since he’s reported to a job. Still nothing going on there.

Bubsy: 😬….and on that lovely side note that sissy just added. Let’s wrap this up…the French Open started today so let’s go watch some tennis.🎾  Have a beautiful and safe Memorial Day to everyone that reads this. May God bless America and Texas! #texasstrong
