What A Trip

Bubsy: Wowsers what a week! I mean….what a week!

Sissy: Wowsers and bowsers!

Bubsy: Where do we begin? The theme of our week was a “trip”.  What a trip it has been. No joke! 😳

Sissy: And not the good kind of trip like a vacation. Nope, a totally different type of trip or trips, shall we say. 😵‍💫😬

Bubsy: It was a crazy week for us. Mom and dad have been noticing a weird spot on our ceiling for a little while now. And now that it’s summer that weird spot got much worse. How much worse?  Mom woke up one morning then soon walked into the kitchen to discover puddles and a very steady drip in the ceiling above.

Skylar: Skipping ahead a little bit, a large hole had to be cut in the ceiling to get to the leak. Did anyone notice I said LARGE hole?  I’m not talking about something the size of a donut hole….nope. It’s a large hole Winnie The Pooh could fit thru.

Bubsy: This is one time sissy is not exaggerating. It’s a very large hole in the ceiling. Worst part is after workers have done multiple visits to our house…the leak, the hole, the overall mess is still not fixed.

Sissy: We have been moved out of the kitchen. Our food is now served to us in the dining room instead of the kitchen. It’s too much of a mess for us to be in there.

Bubsy: Let me describe the scene, there’s plastic tarps hanging around, there’s two industrial size fans drying the ceiling. There’s two ladders and two large buckets to catch the water. Plus there’s a lovely hose that is going across the floor, across the counters and wrapped around the faucet to drain into the sink. I cannot begin to emphasize the MESS our kitchen is.  I also can’t begin to tally the number of times mom and dad have tripped over the fan cords and water hoses. It looks like half the kitchen had a demolition crew start to demolish it.

Sissy: On day one of this mess mom arrived home to quite the scene and noise from the huge fans in the kitchen left here by a crew that are still in the process of trying to fix the situation. Then later when mom was trying to make dinner she tripped the breaker and we lost power. She didn’t even think about the industrial fans sucking up all the power and overloading the system. 🔌

Bubsy: Then dad had no idea how to fix the problem and trip the breakers back. 🙈

Sissy: Gotta send a WOMAN to do a MAN’S job. 💪…which is exactly what happened. Mom went out to the fuse box armed with a flashlight….and next thing we knew, our lights in the house were restored. Thankfully, we didn’t have to eat our dinner by candlelight or flashlight.

Bubsy: Dad wasn’t too happy for most of the evening, after getting showed up by his wifey.

Sissy: And once again I say….sometimes you gotta send a WOMAN to do a MAN’S job. Girl power!

Bubsy: Needless to say…both of us have our paws crossed that the leak is fixed and the kitchen is put back together this week. And then we can enter the kitchen again, instead of waiting for everything to be brought into the dining room for us.

Sissy: Mom and dad have been texting or calling each other’s phone when they move around the house. Because if they are not in the same room they can’t hear each other at all because the industrial fans are way too LOUD.

Bubsy: Mom and dad have given new meaning to the saying…Can you hear me now?😆📱…Everything in our house is extremely loud right now. No luck finding a quiet place. The cat has had an extremely hard time this week. She likes her peace and quiet. And that is not available for the time being.

Sissy: Nope, can’t even hear the voices in my little head. 😵‍💫

Bubsy: And our poor mom can’t seem to get away from construction matters. At her school there are construction crews working on a few projects while summer camp runs. They are trying to get done before the new school year starts. It’s a tight schedule. We shall see if it’s all complete by the start of school.

Sissy: We shall see first if the construction in our own house gets completed before I lose my ever loving mind. I did not authorize all these workers going in and out of MY house almost everyday this past week.

Bubsy: Well sissy maybe we should end this blog post and rest up for next week. Chances are it’s going to provide us with some new twists and turns until things are fixed. We wish you all a great week. Our pic below has sissy reverting back to her old ways of giving the camera plenty of side-eye. When we were on Instagram everyone commented how my little sis is a side-eye queen. 😆
