Bubs: Hello there, sissy-Cupcake. What happened to you? You look somewhat trimmed up around your face and beard.
Cupcake: Oh geez, every single day mom is coming at me with scissors. It's exhausting avoiding her.
Bubs: It is not every day.
Cupcake: Yes, it is. It absolutely is. Thursday, then Friday, and then bright and early this morning here comes mom with scissors in her hand...AGAIN.
Bubs: I think the key is to hold still and let her do what she needs to do to make you look halfway decent.
Cupcake: No, the key is for mom to learn to leave my face, beard, and my precious little grinch feet alone.
Bubs: Oh those grinch feet of yours are a mess, sissy. Mom can't leave them alone.
Cupcake: No kidding! She's always trimming them. Anyway, how are you doing, you nearly didn't survive bath time on Thursday night.
Bubs: OH MY DOGNESS! You are right! I thought I was going to lose my mind and my fur.
Cupcake: I felt sorry for you but I laughed at you as well.
Bubs: Let me tell the people out there what happened. Our mom thought she'd try a new shampoo and conditioner for us. It's something fancy that is used on show dogs. Mom continues to search for the best products to deal with sissy's long hair. My hair is kept short so almost anything does a decent job for me. But sissy's hair requires top products and a healthy amount of conditioner. Mom doesn't want to buy different products for both of us. So she just uses the same products on both of us. So there I was getting my bath with this new shampoo and then the conditioner. After the bath I started itching like crazy. I couldn't stop itching. I was rubbing myself on the carpet and even back and forth on the walls. I was desperate to scratch every inch of my body. It was awful.
Cupcake: Watching you rub up and down the walls in the hallway was the most entertaining part. When it got to that point though mom started to freak out and then she was desperate to relieve you of your itching.
Bubs: Yes, so long story short...after 2 more baths late Thursday night a very exhausted and worn out little me went to bed without the itchies. I just can't handle conditioner. We have had other experiences like that when mom has used conditioner on me. But nothing as bad as that experience. I guess mom thought since it was a new brand of shampoo and conditioner she would see if my fur could handle it.
Cupcake: I think we all learned you need to go without conditioner always.
Bubs: Yes, please! No more experimenting with conditioners on me. I did get extra treats for my suffering that night. So that was a good thing. Not all bad. Come on, sissy, let's go continue our Saturday. Tomorrow is Dog Mom day. We need to go shopping for mom. Grab your piggy bank and let's head out.
