Sissy: Hi big bro, so nice to see you are still alive.
Bubsy: Whew! I'm certainly glad to still be here too. My life flashed before my very eyes this past Friday.
Sissy: I heard it all but I didn't see much of it. As you know me, I rarely venture too far off the porch and I commonly hang out right at the backdoor.
Bubsy: So here's what happened. I was on a sniffari in our backyard. Many, many things readily available to sniff. One must take time to sniff everything once, twice, most likely three times. It's what I do best. Anyway, I'm sniffing around on my sniffari when I heard a pop noise. A loud POP noise. I decided to stop sniffing for a second and look around. In the next blink of my little green doggie eyes I heard more POPPING noises. Rapid fire popping noises. As a matter of fact, it sounded like gunfire or fireworks. Without much more thought my four feet took off towards the covered porch at turbo speed. At the same time I was beginning to run for my life, my daddy was calling to me to run fast. Next thing I know, a split second after I arrived on the porch I look back to see the biggest tree in our yard basically split in two. A massive section of the tree came down. I would've been crushed had I not moved as quickly as I did.
Sissy: From where I was, I heard the loud popping noises and was desperate for dad to get from where he was in the yard to the backdoor and let me back inside. I'm too little for any sort of danger.
Bubsy: I'm with ya on that one. I'm too little for danger too. I'm a rough and tumble type of boy but I don't go looking for danger. I'm adventurous but within reason. I think mom is thankful for that. She was also thankful I was not harmed by the tree coming down. She was actually very thankful about that.
Sissy: Mom got the news and pics from dad at her lunch break while she was at work. Once she got home, it was like get out of her way because all she wanted to do was hold and kiss you. I think she kissed you at least a hundred times or more.
Bubsy: Probably more. I was pretty much bathed in mom's kisses. And I'm such a loving guy, I didn't mind one bit.
Sissy: You never mind all the kisses. I don't either. But I will admit, mom is a bit extreme on kissing us.
Bubsy: She is! But it's fine with me. In other news, we are enjoying a relaxing long weekend with our parents. They watched a movie and stayed up late last night. I, of course, got lots of cuddle time with mom during the long movie.
Sissy: I got cuddles as I prayed for a piece of popcorn to drop. No such luck on the popcorn. However, I heard mom and dad talking about watching a movie late tonight too. So let's keep our paws crossed for a kernel of popcorn.
Bubsy: I definitely agree, sissy. Hope everyone else out there that might read this is enjoying their long weekend too. Hugs to all!
