The Fish

Bubsy: We got our taco bandanas on, so let’s fiesta. 🌮 

Sissy: I’m always up for a good fiesta. 🪅 Bring on the tacos and mom’s yummy queso dip I always hear about but never get to eat. 

Bubsy: Today is a noteworthy day…today is the anniversary of Mom and Dad’s FIRST date. It’s been 15 years. 

Sissy: I’m speechless…15 years. I can’t count beyond number 2. 

Bubsy: That first date led to a good courtship, that led to a wedding after a few years.

Sissy: That wedding led to living in Irving. Which led to moving to Fort Worth. 

Bubsy: That first date also led to the house we have. Then to the birth of little me. 

Sissy: And then the birth of ME! 

Bubsy: They got more than they bargained for with you, sissy. 

Sissy: I can’t disagree with that. I’m like good guacamole…gotta pay extra for the guac! 😉 

Bubsy: Mom and dad are just acknowledging this occasion they aren’t really celebrating it. But mom is making dad Mexican food for dinner to somewhat “acknowledge” it since that’s the type of food they had on their first date. In other news, let’s talk about the fishy situation of this past week. 

Sissy: Oh mercy! I’ll start it off. Mom needed more fish for her dinners. Dad offered to go to the store for her the next day while she was at work. Mom was skeptical that he’d be able to handle this task. She knows she’s picky about her cuts of fish now. 

Bubsy: But he assured her, he’d get it right. After all he goes with her and sees what she orders at the fish counter all the time. Let’s say mom was correct when she was skeptical about dad’s ability to handle this. 

Sissy: He came home with the right type of fish. So score one point for that. 

Bubsy: He came home with an ENTIRE fish. It was huge! He immediately decided to put it in the freezer. It had to go in the freezer at an angle because it was longer than the freezer. 😆😱

Sissy: Mom got home a couple hours after that. And was shocked when dad told her the fish was in the freezer. She quickly got it out of the freezer, since it wasn’t frozen solid yet and she started sectioning it out. What a sight…watching mom cut this half frozen fish into sections. 

Bubsy: For everyone out there, never place a LARGE fish in the freezer before sectioning it out. Because once it’s fully frozen like that then you have to fully defrost and eat right away. You section out then freeze the sections in the appropriate sizes before freezing. 

Sissy: Look how educational our blog is today. Fish 101! 🐟 

Bubsy: After that explanation it’s time to wrap this up and go watch more football. 

Sissy: Thank you, Cowboys for making my prediction that y’all would stink it up today in the home opener. 🙄
