Insane Sight

Bubsy: Welcome to Sunday! Whew, it was an insane week for us. So glad you made it thru the week. We had some frightening moments for sure…especially you and mom! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Sissy: You have no idea! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Bubsy: I do actually know all about your week. I lived it, right along side of you.

Sissy: The week started off great. Last Monday we got our ceiling fixed FINALLY! A couple months ago there was a leak in the attic that busted thru the ceiling and started leaking into the middle of our kitchen. That issue was finally and completely resolved. Moving on to Tuesday…things seemed normal all day.

Bubsy: Then out of nowhere shortly before our bedtime mom posed the question randomly…”is that thunder?” Deciding she was indeed hearing thunder, mom quickly took us outside for the last time of the evening. There was a bit of wind, a little lightening and thunder in the distance. I did my business as mom instructed me to. But someone else didn’t do anything. So mom hurried us back inside, then decided to QUICKLY leash up sissy to take her up the street to do her business. Sissy, you take over telling the story…

Sissy: As we walked outside the largest drops of rain started falling. The wind started fiercely swirling as we walked down the street debris was flying around and momma started to steer clear of trees. Next thing I know, momma scooped me up in her arms and started holding her hand over my eyes to protect me. Then momma turned around and we headed back to the house. Literally in a matter of just a few minutes the weather conditions became extremely dangerous. About 20 seconds after we walked inside our house a big boom was heard for miles. We all headed for the safe spot in our house and prayed for the storm to pass or lessen up. We heard many more booms and pops and unknown noises. Next the ultimate boom occurred from a bolt of lightning hitting, then out went the power. ๐Ÿ”Œ

Bubsy: After the storm passed. Mom and dad went outside with flashlights to survey any damage. Flower pots were completely destroyed and scattered over our yard. And once again….our fence was down. Yep, down went the fence. Our last tree in our backyard broke and crashed thru the fence. Actually, our entire street lost their fences. One by one those hurricane winds took out the fences. It is an insane sight to see no yard with a fence right now. Lots of homes have roof damage and storm drains were ripped off roofs and littered front yards and the streets. So much rain fell at one time lakes and rivers started to overflow and fish were swimming down the roadways. The smell from the overflowing lake water was horrendous. Had to hold your nose until Thursday. The stench was gone by Thursday. But the clean up from the hurricane winds is still ongoing.

Sissy: I was kind of traumatized to go outside until Friday. I was quite the challenge to mom with my bathroom habits until Friday morning. But mom was very patient with me in the days after the storm. She knew I was traumatized.

Bubsy: Lets briefly review….we finally got our ceiling fixed once and for all on Monday. Then Tuesday night our fence was taken out by a tree that fell thanks to hurricane winds. Mercy me, one step forward for our parents and two steps backward. ๐Ÿ˜’

Sissy: Yep, back to square one. Back to getting bids and waiting for a fencing company to be able to fix the fence.

Bubsy: You are so right, sissy. Anyway, moving on to other things. The Cowboys wrapped up their preseason on Friday night. They skillfully won zero games during preseason. No surprise there.

Sissy: I think I’ll be watching most Cowboys games with a blindfold or like this…๐Ÿซฃ

Bubsy: Same goes for me. But before football officially starts it’s all about the last grand slam of the tennis season in our house. The U.S. Open started earlier today. ๐ŸŽพ

Sissy: I suppose we should get used to dad not moving from the couch for two weeks. ๐Ÿ™„

Bubsy: Well let’s end this and go for a walk then relax with our parents.

Sissy: Sounds like a plan! A good plan! Everyone out there, enjoy your week. And if the winds start swirling just stay inside, let your dog pee on the floor…you and your pupper will at least stay alive.
