Bubsy: Somebody is knocking….it’s September! We are almost there! It’s Labor Day weekend. And believe me, we are doing our best to not do any labor this weekend…and always. ๐ Best part is…college football is back! Mom and dad watched a healthy dose of football games all day yesterday.
Sissy: Mercy me, let’s not talk about that Texas game. I think it went as well as I anticipate this coming Thursday going for the Cowboys. Actually, I expect Cowboys to do even worse.
Bubsy: Speaking of the Cowboys…Boy, did they capture the headlines here in Big D after trading a star player to the Packers.
Sissy: I say, have fun freezing your tail off in Green Bay! If you don’t want to be here then we don’t want ya here! Peace out!
Bubsy: Yep, Cowboys made a stunning trade with the Packers after a star player refused to sign his contract for the new season. Would you ever refuse to sign a big contract, sissy?
Sissy: Nope, I’ll take whatever money I can get. Which reminds me to check the couch for loose change later today.
Bubsy: Have you ever found loose change in our couch before?
Sissy: No, but there’s a first time for everything.
Bubsy: I know all about looking for things this weekend. I kept looking for you.
Sissy: Blame mom! ๐
Bubsy: Here’s the story, mom leashed just sissy up to take her out in front of our house to potty since our backyard is a designated disaster sight with no fence and a downed tree. So Sissy and mom went outside, I watched from the window. Then I saw they were coming back in so I moved to the front door to greet them. Unbeknownst to me, mom had picked sissy up to carry her back inside. When mom opened the door to come inside, I immediately looked to the side of mom expecting to see sissy….but no, sissy. I quickly looked behind mom….no sissy! I ran a quick circle around mom…still didn’t find sissy. Then I felt it necessary in a panicked state to run to dad to tell him it appeared mom left sissy outside. After alerting dad to this situation, I turned to run back towards the front door there you stood on the couch staring at me. Silly me was only looking for sissy on my low level…I never looked up to see sissy in mom’s arms being carried. ๐
Sissy: I can’t believe you never looked up. Just kept looking low to the ground. You should know, my feet are way too precious for all the mess that is in our area after all the storms we’ve been thru.
Bubsy: Yes, silly me. I should’ve known, you always insist on being carried.
Skylar: I got mom well trained! Dad on the other hand, is not as well trained.
Bubsy: Our week featured some additional funny moments too. Mom was dressed as a pig for a certain spirit day at her school, mom gave the cat a bald spot, and mom got stuck in her nightgown.
Sissy: I’m telling you….mom is a trip! She always says I’m a trip. But mom was a trip this past week. I’m still wondering how mom got the cat to stay still long enough for the big bald spot to happen? The way the cat looks is exactly why I don’t let mom come near my goddess-like locks.
Bubsy: Sissy, let’s wrap this up and get on with our long weekend. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the long weekend! Eat some BBQ, go to a pool party, or kick back and watch football. See ya next week! ๐พ
