Everyone has those days where you can't quite believe how much crazy stuff has happened during the course of the day. Yesterday was like that for me especially during the course of a rather short timeframe. For about 90 minutes of the day things went a little haywire! It was a time span that made me laugh at the end of it as I questioned the way my day had gone. During the crazy 90 minute timespan there were a few moments where I said to myself...."is this really happening?...."is this really my life at this moment?" Now those two questions were posed in a comical way not at all in a negative way! So don't get the wrong idea! When haywire moments occur I can easily laugh it off. All you can do is just roll through with certain things folks!
So this is how it went....it was a triple issue! With all three pets involved in some way. First up was Simon. I looked over to notice Simon was getting sick! Oh geez, take cover! As I tended to him who comes along with something to show me? Piper! She had in her mouth a super long string of toilet paper. There she is standing in the living room with the toilet paper in her mouth proud as can be! I quickly looked around to notice it wasn't just a small amount she had drug out of the bathroom, it was going all the way across our living room, I couldn't see passed the corner of the living room. I then got up to walk around the corner I was unsure how much toilet paper was off the roll. I soon realized little Hyper-Piper had strung the still attached to the roll toilet paper from the bathroom all the way out to me in the living room. The eager look on her face to show me her feat will forever be in my mind! Crazy kitten! However, I was not impressed! There was toilet paper everywhere! That's what happens when mommie gets too busy with one pet, the youngest pet gets into mischief!
As I was still tending to those two messes the fire alarm in the building sounded. Upon hearing the blaring alarm Cody was quick to notice the door to our bedroom was ajar. He wasted no time running in. When I first ran in after him with Piper in my arms and Simon at my heel I looked under the bed....nope, no Cody. I ended up finding him in our closet in the laundry basket on top of the laundry. I couldn't help it, I had to laugh quietly to myself.
Thankfully a little while later things were much calmer in our household. Piper reacts completely different than Storm did when the fire alarm would sound. Piper wanted out, she didn't want to be left. Storm wanted us to leave the faucet running for her as she CALMLY watched us walk out the door. It was the first time Piper has heard the fire alarm, I suppose Storm likely heard numerous in her lifetime. Therefore, over the years Piper may become more like Storm, not care about the fire alarm. We'll see!
Side Note: Piper experienced another first early this morning. While I was feeding the boys, Simon finished first, of course! Then got too close to Cody while he was still eating. A full pug brawl broke out! Cody's bowl of food literally went flying. Cody at one point had the upper "paw" by pinning Simon against the wall. Meanwhile Piper was breaking speed limits to get away from the ruckus! To resolve the issue I finally was able to get a hold of Simon lifting him up and away from Cody. As I took Simon a safe distance away I asked him why he would do such a stupid thing as getting too close to Cody when he eats. Cody will take anyone down especially Simon if he comes too close during chow time! After the brawl it took quite awhile before Piper felt it was safe enough to come out from under the couch. Welcome to life with two pug brothers, Pipe!
