A Potential Super Bowl Dilemma!

For the occasion of the big time NFL games this past weekend my husband dug out his Broncos jersey.  Yes, he has a Broncos jersey!  John Elway is his all-time fave quarterback.  I think Elway is likely tied with Aikman as Brad's all-time fave, truth be told. I don't think he can have an all-time fave quarterback that wasn't a Cowboy standing completely alone in his number one fave spot!  So Elway and Aikman are most likely tied for first in his opinion.

So there we were on Sunday, my husband sitting next to me on our couch proudly wearing his Broncos jersey.  He even had his special white sneakers that feature a good amount of orange on them.  I think he bought those white and orange sneakers because the orange made him think of two things....Texas Longhorns and perhaps Simon.  Simmie loves the color orange! As we sat on the couch anxiously awaiting the Broncos game to kick-off it occurred to me....there's a potential problem looming!

What is the potential problem?  Let me first explain our Saturday football watching.  Seattle played the New Orleans Saints, the Saints went down courtesy of the Seahawks.  I was the lone ranger when watching that game because New Orleans isn't terribly far from us.  Based on proximity and a little New Orleans flavor that has drifted into Dallas, New Orleans was the preferred winner in these parts.  I was rooting for both at times.  But it was no secret I wanted Seattle to win slightly or not so slightly more than the Saints.  LOL!

Now as for this weekend if Seattle wins and the Broncos win, that's great as those are my two preferred teams from each conference.  However...can you say.....Yikes!...And the problem is revealed!  I can't bring myself to root against the Seahawks in the SUPER BOWL!  Yet there's no doubt my husband will be dressed in his Broncos gear on Super Bowl Sunday ready to see a Broncos victory. Oh geez!  I lived in Seattle.  I called Seattle home!  For a rather short time compared to how long I've lived here but still I called it home for awhile.  I don't have those type of fond memories or any ties to Denver.  Yep, we have a potential dilemma!

We'll see what happens this weekend!  In previous years the teams I have preferred to win in each conference has not won.  Typically only 1 of my preferred teams gets into the Super Bowl. However, potential cheering problem or not I still want to see both the Broncos and Seahawks make it through this Sunday!   :)
