Evening Update on Piper (Tuesday)

We made the heart-wrenching decision tonight to go get Piper out of the hospital and bring her home to be with us. She will live her remaining hours and/or days here at home with her family surrounding her. As I type this I fight back tears! I can't believe this is it for her!

Both boys were happy to see her but quickly realized just how bad off she is. She is in seriously bad shape. I covered her up with a blanket partly to keep her warm and partly because it was too terrifying to me to see how much her body shutters with each breath. I keep praying that I can keep it together. Be strong, be strong!

Her brothers are so respectful it's amazing. They did check her over while she was in her carrier but once she came out both patiently waited a safe distance away for mommie and daddy to get her situated. Soon we motioned for them to come near, which they did. Cody was so sweet as he greeted her in her pink bed, that moment was captured in a pic below.
