Update on Piper

The vet just called to give us the evening update on Piper. She is doing much better, 1000% better than she was when she arrived yesterday. She is off oxygen, woo-hoo! They will begin weaning her off some of her pain meds tonight. She hasn't shown much interest in eating yet. Vet definitely wants her to eat and keep her food down before she has any chance of being released. At this moment the chance of her being released tomorrow evening is at 50%. Not as high as I hoped. I was hoping to hear that we'd definitely be able to come get her anytime tomorrow. Now I'm setting myself up for the more likely scenario of her being discharged from vet hospital on Tuesday. Best news is that her vet is encouraged by progress she has made since last night's surgery. And so are we!!!!
