Morning Update on Piper(Tuesday)

Well I received the morning update for Piper, not a good conversation with vet at all!!! Things are bleak! Upon Piper's morning examination it was discovered the pneumonia she is struggling with has spread to her left lung. It was previously only in the right lung. Despite all the meds, oxygen, and overall effort on the vet hospital the pneumonia has spread.

I'm dejected! Bummed out! And overall devastated. Upon hanging up the phone with vet I put the boys out on the balcony so I could cry without them seeing me.  Cody however, is starting to sense something. Simon seems clueless though.  The worst is definitely feared on our end! The plan at this moment is for vet to once again change up meds adding a med that helps inflamed lung tissue. We'll see how she fairs with that change as the day progresses. Brad and I will once again visit her tonight and at that time we'll be able to have a face to face consultation with vet to discuss how to proceed.

Last night when we visited her we took a blanket that we made each pug lay on prior. When we arrived it seemed to take her 30 seconds to a minute to fully recognize us, she's quite loopy thanks to the meds. As soon as I placed the blanket over her she began sniffing it. She clearly smelled her brothers. She didn't move much during our visit. Just moved her head slightly and her little nose was doing it's job trying to recognize scents. She has her front right leg in a full cast to keep the IV in. She didn't have her oxygen while we were there. We kept things brief knowing she needed to get back on oxygen.
