Brad's Birthday!

Brad's birthday and my uncle's birthday are back to back.  So I will first wish a happy belated birthday to my uncle Robert.  I sent a card, which I'm sure he has received by now...hopefully it arrived on his bday, last Friday.

Brad's birthday was lots of fun.  A good time was had by all.  We didn't do much for entertainment other than sitting around telling stories and cracking up more than you can imagine.  I love how when we get together with any members of his family the laughter just rolls.

Brad was excited about his gifts.  Our trip to Europe was the inspiration for his gifts this year.  He mentioned it would be nice to have a camcorder when we go to Europe.  Well, his wife was listening!  He also has some new clothes to sport during our REAL honeymoon!

We had the ultimate taco night!  Four choices of meat: ground chicken, ground beef, shrimp, and steak.  Take your pick!  Brad loves taco night.  But for his birthday I was determine to amp it up. So four meat choices was the way I did that. The cake turned out well.  It was a challenge that I gladly accepted.  I ended up making a three layer chocolate cake with two layers of cheesecake.  It is the tallest cake I have ever made.  I have a cake plate with a glass dome, the dome almost didn't go over it without smashing it down.  Actually the minimal decorations on top did get smashed into the top of the cake.  Oh well, nobody cared!

I think he had a good birthday.  I think it was best capped off by the fact that he got 4 days off from work.  Today was his first day back to work after being off since Thursday.  Next up for things to look forward to.....our REAL honeymoon or honeymoon part 2, whichever we want to term it!

This was a funny moment, his parents put an item for me in his gift bag!  He was surprised to see red salad servers. Ha-Ha!

Holding up the shirt his mother-in-law got him.

Ahh, isn't he cute! Nice of him to pause as his wife snapped his pic with his tall goopy frosted cake! Frosting is great but quite goopy.
