This is the night I have waited for since we moved into this new place. We are literally just steps from the city's fireworks show, as we live right behind the Convention Center. Since there are so many cities and towns that have fireworks the Dallas metro area splits it up between two nights. Some cities are hosting theirs tonight others are hosting theirs tomorrow night.
The boys and I saw the police barricades go up early today as they closed a long portion of the street. A little while ago I went into the stairway area to see what I could see. I saw all the festivities as they were still setting up. It will basically be similar to a carnival with fireworks. The symphony has a special performance outside the Convention Center as the fireworks go. This morning the boys and I also saw them hauling out the pieces of the stage to construct in the middle of the closed off street.
We haven't yet decided if we will head for the rooftop deck on our building. Or simply step outside to see the show or our third option is to walk over to the festivities. Either way the boys will be included. Cody especially likes fireworks. My vote is to leash up the boys and walk the few steps over to the festivities. Or walk the boys out to the hill in front of our complex, that would be a perfect vantage point.
