She was quite hesitant as I sat her bowl down in front of her with the little dab of plain tuna in it. She has inherited Cody's cautious nature at the sight of a new food item. She looked it over. Sized it up. Sniffed it a few times. Stuck her nose on it. Why do cat's do that? They sniff something new then gently stick their nose on it before deciding to then try a bite. Storm did it too! So I'm convinced it's a cat thing. After all that most cats would start licking the new item. But Piper has pug brothers that chow down. So she then cautiously took a bite. Forget taking a quick lick when you can just chow down on it! Right? Simon would totally agree!
She ate a little then politely walked away. I left it in her bowl for the duration of the afternoon. I mixed the leftover tuna in with her dinner and she ate it all. Since this first experience with tuna she has been lucky enough to get a little more since. The second round she ate some then left the rest which was mixed into her dinner. I did notice though she seemed to truly enjoy her cat food with tuna mixed in! She had it all over the place, which makes me believe she really liked something. The messier she gets with something the more she liked it! Right? Simon is that right?
Below is a short video of her new experience:
