Well not much has changed throughout the week here in the DFW areas. DFW is the abbreviation for the Dallas-Fort Worth areas for those that are unaware. It's still freezing. There's still lots of ice all around my car so moving it is somewhat of a nervy thought to me. Schools are closed for the 3rd straight day. Doubt any will open just for Friday especially with there being a chance of snow tonight and tomorrow. We're still dealing with temps in the teens.
By Saturday the temps are expected to double. So at that point a lot of the ice should begin to melt. As of right now Super Bowl Sunday is expected to be a 47 degree day. Now after a week of these freezing temps a 47 degree day will surely feel almost warm to all of us. However, I'm thinking the outdoor venue that is being set up for people that want to come watch the Super Bowl right outside Cowboys Stadium can't be a popular choice to view the big game. I'm still thinking that outdoor venue idea is ridiculous.
I haven't gone anywhere the last 3 days so I'm not sure what the roads are actually like. I've heard enough about how bad the roads are to keep me inside. My boyfriend attempted to go somewhere the other day. He got his car out of his parking space making his way towards the exit of his complex but his car made it clear to him that it was not going to make it up the small hill towards the exit. His car decided for him to make a left turn instead of a right turn which made him go in the opposite direction of the exit. He then maneuvered around and came right back without getting out of his complex. Next up was his struggle to make it over all the ice and get his car back in it's parking spot.
Now before experiencing these current icy conditions I had seen video on the news many times in the past of cars just sliding around not completely understanding what was going on that caused that type of thing. Well now this former Zonie fully understands! In these icy conditions the wheels just simply lock up and won't move causing your car to just slide and you have no control as to where your car is going to slide.
Not sure how Simon is doing it but of the 3 of us he's certainly got the best ability to walk on all this ice. Maybe it's because he's the smallest of the 3 of us. He weighs the least and he's got stocky little legs. I've only seen him slightly slip a few times back on Tuesday since then he's been pretty steady. Yesterday the 3 of us were attempting to go up a small hill. Simon was going strong while Cody and I kept looking at each other as we each struggled to make one step after another. We would take a step then slip back a step. I finally told the boys lets go some other way. Cody looked relieved!
