Arctic Blast #2 (part 5)

I think the look on Sime's face says it all! We got dumped on overnight! About a foot of snow has fallen. It started falling at exactly midnight and it hasn't stopped. The snow fall has slowed quite a bit but it's still falling a little. According to the news the worst part of the snowstorm hit at 4 am. It seems that Dallas has been transported it's like we're in Pittsburgh or Green Bay. Maybe these 2 teams brought their weather with them!

There's 40 more snowplows on their way to Dallas. Numerous snowplows have already been brought in from Amarillo. We have 2 main airports, one is closed and the other one is operating only a fraction of the flights that they normally do. There's going to be lots of irritated Super Bowl fans as they struggle to get here.

The news is of course discouraging people from going out on the roads. There's numerous cars in the parking lot here so I doubt many people have gone in to work. So for yet another day Dallas has been brought to somewhat of a halt.

I was planning on running some errands today. I thought I could finally get out to do some things. I'm not so sure now! I think I'll wait and see what happens this afternoon but at this present moment I'm thinking I'm staying home all day again. I must admit I didn't think the snow would hit like this. When they reported that more snow was coming in I thought maybe an inch or so, nothing significant. I was surprised when I looked out the windows this morning.

Venturing out for the morning walk was interesting. The snow was so thick everywhere that the boys weren't sure where the grass and plants were. It was funny to watch their little heads look around at all angles. They must have been thinking to themselves, "where did everything go?". Earlier this week it was snow that turned to ice and we've been dealing with all the slippery ice ever since. But you could at least decipher what was what outside. Now it's one big white blanket! Both boys took a few bites of the snow! That was cute!

**Pics below: Look closely at the pool pic. Notice where the steps are that go into the pool and then the big section of ice that has formed in an area. The pool is covered with snow but the darker portion has frozen to ice.
