How cold was it inside my car during last week? So cold that a water bottle that was filled froze! This past weekend the weather was nice. On Saturday the temps did double and I did feel has though it was suddenly warm. Yes I said warm. When you've spent the week dealing with temps in the teens, 40 is basking in the sun!
When we went to the grocery store on Saturday I couldn't help but notice how empty a lot of the store shelves were. At first I thought it's a result of the Super Bowl, people are out shopping for their Super Bowl get-togethers. Then I wanted to get orange juice but there was none to get. Since orange juice isn't a must get item for a Super Bowl party it was at that point I clued in. The store shelves were so empty because shipments have been unable to come into the Dallas area due to the weather. Today when I went to get groceries there were boxes in the middle of nearly all aisles as store shelf stockers were buzzing all around stocking as fast as they could.
Nearly all the snow has melted by now. There are still a few patches here and there. Cody went tromping through a patch of snow today on the afternoon walk. He was very commanding about it too as he stepped. Maybe he's gotten so used to it it's not phasing him anymore. Or at least it doesn't phase him when the temp is still nice out. He can handle some snow on the ground when it's 40-something degrees but expecting him to handle ice/snow when it's 10 degrees...well he'll deal with it because he's forced to just don't expect him to be happy about it! And don't expect him to enjoy going outside!
Back on Friday I knew it was the last day the snow would be sticking around so I took the boys on as long of a walk as I could possibly stand because I wanted to see as much of the snow as possible. Poor little Cody was freezing from beginning to end! I tried many times to cheer him up as we looked at snowmen that had been built around the property, he didn't care!
We are expected to get some more snow on Wednesday. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice and then the weather will get progressively worse as midnight approaches. Same way this last arctic blast happened. Monday of last week was nice then as midnight Tuesday approached it got worse and worse. Don't worry I'm telling the boys to soak up the good weather while they can. I'll do my best tomorrow to get them in the sun. They both love laying in the sun! Not sure I can get them somewhere where they can lay in the sun but maybe I'll take them to the nearby park. No off-leash area but I can walk them with beautiful scenery around. I don't think this next snowstorm will extend the way last week's snow did. But we shall see! Either way we're ready for another round! I just checked with the boys to see if they were ready....no comment from them!
